Ren'Py Ren'Py and Steam saves

Was just curious if everything outside of steam specific stuff like achievements is carried over in the ren'py appdata folder. If I play on steam but get from say patreon later on would the saves and unlocks carry over between platforms?

I believe that in order to transfer saves, you would need to locate the saves in AppData\Roaming\RenPy and transfer them to the Steam game directory: C:\Steam\steamapps\common

Some game versions released on Patreon have an import option (e.g., like BaDIK) that allows you to

Depends on the game though and whether they have such a save import option available or not.

Everything, including achievements, is carried over in the save files.

If I understood Ren'Py core correctly, Steam servers are only used to carry the global count of achievements, and nothing else. What mean that you'll have all the benefits even if you don't get the version from Steam and/or play the game without the connection to Steam.
The only difference will be on the dev side, that will not have your achievement counted on his own stats.
