I'm having a delay (5-6 seconds) after I click a choice in games like Jen's Dilemma and Lust Academy. This wasn't happening before, but seems to have started in recent weeks. I even restored my CPU and the problem is still there. In a game like Jen's Dilemma it's obnoxious because you have to do the same actions over and over. Does anyone have any tips on this?

So, what happened when the issue first began? You've mentioned two games, does it happen with other Ren'Py games as well?
1. If you installed or changed configurations of something (including antivirus), it could be an overlay issue causing slowdowns.
2. Try a different renderer (Shift + G) and see if the issue persists. If it fixes the issue, then there's something wrong with your GPU drivers (You need to update, or revert).
3. Did you change anything physically when the issue first began? If you're using a laptop, did it revert to running the game with your integrated GPU? If you don't have a dedicated, is your hdd nearly full? And, if you have a laptop, are you playing while plugged or on battery?
4. Did you unzip the games properly in a location where you have read/write permissions?
5. Did you monitor the situation with task manager open? Any spike in CPU, HDD usage, or GPU? How's the situation before you even run the game? Also, have you tried monitoring your FPS during your playthrough?
There could be other causes as well, but you could start with answering those questions and maybe provide more details that could be helpful

You've mentioned weeks, so I am wondering if it's weeks of progress where it started happening (and perhaps got gradually worse) or not. I guess just trying other ren'py games would also answer this question.
