I understand that this approach may not appeal to those who want to see the entire content of the game within a single gameplay experience.(Or with less tedious steps.) But the accumulation of small choices creating different interactions felt fitting for this story. At first, the MC will be in as many lewd situations as possible, but over time, some characters will want to reduce their relationship with certain other characters and even ask you to make a choice. After Bailey finds out what you and Izzy did, her first reaction was that you should leave the house. We could say this is a preview of what might happen in the future. I might not be able to add this to every path due to workload, but I plan to include a branch where the MC is really forced to leave home. Since we are still in the very early stages, these choices may feel meaningless or just not appeal to you.
You're right about the movie selection; the decisions is random from the player's perspective. In some important sections, NPC colors will be used to indicate choices, while in other less important sections, choices will be presented in a more random manner. You can either choose randomly here, or create a save point and see the results of all the movie options. Or, after finding out whose stats have improved, you can quickly go back. As you progress through the game, there will be plenty of scenes where this randomly selected movie genre is mentioned and influences some interactions. Although the player doesn't know it, the four options there are the favorite genres of the main 4 NPCs. I don't give this to the player beforehand, nor do I intend to.
In the v0.1.8 patch I'm currently working on, the household goes out for ice cream. There are 8 different options there, and again, I will give the player the opportunity to make a choice without knowing who chooses what or what their favorites are. One of the feelings I want to convey is that sense of unfamiliarity experienced by someone who has just joined a new environment. (But maybe I could have added to the movie selection part what Kimberlee's favorite is. From their old friendship, MC has this information.)
Still, as I said, I can understand why this approach might frustrate some people. You might be forced to make a random choice and miss out on certain interactions based on the stats you get from that choice. For those who don't want this, there is an option to see what that choice affects and then roll it back.(But a decision still needs to be made.)
The same goes for client selection. You get a general outline, but you don't know exactly where it will lead. If I explain, I'll be repeating myself. I want to convey that feeling of the unknown again, and I know some people might enjoy it more that way. We could call it a matter of appeal. Maybe later in the game, you'll find this system more enjoyable, or as the branches grow further apart, it might become even more frustrating. Still, thank you for playing the game and sharing your feedback!
Finally, I apologize for that bug. I completely missed it, and it's really annoying that it was a game-ending one.
