VN - Ren'Py - Rich and Young [Ep.3 v0.4b] [tremmiGames]

Oof... This is a rough one. I am going to try and be as objective as possible, so here we go:

Animations/Artwork - 4/5

Probably the only redeeming quality about this game. The visuals and models are nice, and effort was put into the animations, though the loops are a little weird, and the slow blinking I feel isn't necessary. So again, props to the dev here.

Storyline/Dialogue - 1/5

Okay, now to get into the nitty gritty... I honestly couldn't get past the prologue. The MC is absolutely horrible, to the point where I couldn't even bring myself to read what he was saying. Maybe this appeals to some, but damn, give the dude SOME redeeming qualities. Maybe he gets humbled in the future, but I just couldn't bring myself to stick around. Furthermore, while the dialogue isn't terrible, it's still tough to read. Either the dev's first language isn't English (which is fine), or just low effort to make it any good. Couple this with the poor story, and it's just not a good mix.

Gameplay/UI - 1/5

Honestly, I may have tried to stick around and at least check more of the animations, but the dev didn't put in ANY option to rollback or skip. Like... why? I like to roll back to try different options without having to save scum, and the lack of skip is just... dumb.

Anyways... Just a not great game with decent models. Not enough to hold my interest, and the MC is just a d-bag. Pass for me.

I barely got through the "prologue". This is one of the dumbest things I've ever tried to play. Is this how people think rich assholes actually act? This MC is one of the worst characters I've seen in a VN. Even trying to compliment one of the club sluts earned a "liar" achievement.

The renders and girls are mostly fine. No rollback is certain a choice. But I really just can't get past the MC. Whole thing should have just been named Asshole. At least then I probably wouldn't have bothered to waste my time.

PROS:

1. Models are good look, even MC looks pretty good.
2. Animations are pretty good also.

CONS:

1. Writing is annoying, the MC speaks to himself out loud and can't internalize, either he is so egotistical and in love with his own voice has some mental disorder or can't retain his thoughts. It makes him sound stupid.
2. Apart from above, the MC comes across like he has some sort of ADHD, not to poke fun any people who do, but in the game its a pain, he is all over the place, says random things in between conversations e.g. Yada yada yada...OH look squirrel! and its fcken irritating as it breaks the dialogue flow (if there even was one)
3. The MC is also just a complete sleazeball, he flirts with every woman, he is most likely a walking STD as it is and they probably all know it.
4. No roll back or any means apart from save and load to go back, for me rolling back and redoing is critical as I often do not replay games unless there are clear distinct paths to take else I will be wasting time trying to unlock each scene which is just boring to me.
5. No skipping of dialogue either, another major fail to a simple built in mechanism...
6. Not many choices, making this more kinetic novel than VN (IMO)
7. The MC has veins all over, the veins on his head look like veins on his arms, like he is kinda unhealthy or maybe experiencing the bends? His dick has veins that make it look like he bench presses his body weight with it (roids much?) it just all looks a bit MUCH.

FINAL REMARKS, OPINIONS & SUGGESTIONS:

• This game seems to be targeting the rich/ultra rich mindset and does little to appeal to me or interest me. It does not make this a bad game, its just not floating my boat. I need to like the MC to want to play a game.

TLDR: I will be honest and I did not sit through this game, its just not good. The visuals are really good, hands down, WELL DONE DEV.

The rest... the interface needs tweaking but thats quick to fix, the real issue is the dialogue, the MCs personality, the general writing and story (story that I could gleam from first bit of playing) its bad and puts me off to no end, so much so I will play something else.

Just not a likeable MC, he is toxic and puts me off the game.

I think players are spoilt for choice with these adult VNs because there are many out there and a couple that are really good. This means Devs need to produce quality games or players simply don't play them and here is another example of a game that needs work before I will play it.

Weird dialogues which make no sense. There is so much disconnect between dialogues that i dont even know how one led to another.
An idiot MC. Dev has tried to portray him as some rich jerk, but even rich jerks who have their own business have brains. This guy's top floor is empty.
Biggest issue, no choices at all.

This game is really polish for the prologue. Dev releases update every month. I bought the game on Oppaiman site and he was one of the top seller there at this moment. One bad thing — I don't like Fiona. Bet for me much better. Hope he will increase content with Bet and fire Fiona

English is a bit poor but it is not the worst I've ever seen.

The best for me is Fiona. I love huge boobs. Second girl is good but not my cup of tea.

Found this hard to engage with. It seems aimed at people who hate women, hate rich people and hate men who succeed with women.

The writing takes the viewpoint of a jealous welfare recipient and certified nice guy who says anyone with money acts like an asshole and women only like 'bad guys'

Despite the MC having a somewhat decent model, he speaks/thinks/acts like some wannabe loser in magaluf trying to appear cool

The renders and models are good, although as boring usual, has to have the shaven headed meth head.

Some of the proportions are ridiculous but not for all models. Penis looks diseased and unnaturally veiny like a very old mans - important to note because renders focus on that more than women.
