VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Rick and Morty: Another Way Home [r4.0P7] [Night Mirror]

I loved playing this, I laughed so hard, most of the references and other things are amazing, I loved it truly thanks for your effort. About the experience itself I know that the scale of the project doesn't allow it, but you can't reject other characters. All in all it was really good and funny, I hope you can do more and have a great time. I hope you have your days as interesting as I had mine while reading through this.

I love games that are on model. It is such a good concept. But sometimes the model they are going for does not lend itself well to porn. Rick and Morty is an ugly show, so I'm not a huge fan of this game's style. But I do have to commend how well it replicates it. 3/5

NTR Rating: Weak NTR, but it is not the focus of the game, so not a big deal.

So it is done. It was many years into the making but it had to come to an end eventually and what a ride it was. I enjoyed every moment of it. For a long time this was the only game I had been following and the main reason I bothered to create an account in the first place.

It's hard to put into words exactly just how much I loved this game, but I can at least start it off with the best part. The writing. Night Mirror has stated many times that writing isn't really his strong suit, but I honestly think he doesn't give himself enough credit. While the art was another amazing part of the game, the writing was honestly the best part about the game for me because it made the whole experience feel authentic. Not only were all the characters acting like they would have in the show, but they also reacted to situations in a way that felt real.

A good example of what I am referring to are the Beth and Summer arcs. They could have just wrote them off as just being super lewd and slutty and just jumping Morty's bones constantly, or just excepting Morty's incest behavior super quickly in order to jump straight to the scenes, and I'm sure some people probably would have wanted it that way. But what we got was so much better for myself personally from a story telling stand point.

Both Beth and Summer react to the situations like they should have as Morty's mother and sister. Beth is contently trying to get Morty to stop chasing her and beating herself up for thinking she's not being a good parental figure, and Summer being extremely resistant to Morty's advances due to them being related. These are the kind of reactions I would expect a family to have to these situations and for it to take a lot of time and build up in order to get past all of that.

My favorite character has always been Morticia though. Because she's just a female version of Morty, she's just as horny as he is and is very open minded and down to earth. As well as very brave and caring to those around her. She was the most fun character hands down.

The cherry on the Sunday for me when it came to both Morty and Morticia is that this particular version of Morty had is Foot Fetish, and since he had it and Morticia is just another very of him, she was very quickly receptive to the idea and open minded about it. Nothing makes me happier than a truly open minded individual. Morty's Foot Fetish was mostly a tool to get some extra prods in at his expense and some extra foot scenes, but it didn't need to take center stage and I'm kind of glad it didn't. How it was implemented here was very satisfactory without overstaying it's welcome.

It's a shame, a real shame the story had to end where it was. I'm sure most everyone (including Night Mirror himself) was not ready for it to end the way it did. In a perfect world, Ferdafs would come back, and he and Night Mirror could consider teaming up. Ferdaf's art and Night Mirror's writing style to create the ultimate Rick and Morty experience, but sadly it was just not meant to be (Don't worry Night Mirror I know that's not what you want. Just saying).

Still though, I am grateful Night Mirror went well out of his way to give this game an ending it deserved and didn't leave it to rot like so many other projects on this platform even if it wasn't as satisfactory as it could have been to many including himself. What matters is that it got an ending. So once again, thank you Night Mirror and everyone else that pitched in to help for all your hard work. I wish you all the best in any and all future endeavors. I am going to be keeping this game on my favorites list for all eternity so that if you ever feel like adding anything more to the game or if Ferdafs ever comes back, I'll be one of the first to know.

One of the greatest games released on this site. I'm planning on keeping a copy on my machine for safe keeping so that i will forever have this work of art available to me later in life no matter what happens to this site.

I am not a huge fan of the show, i've seen several seasons way back many years ago, i don't like the artstyle really, i went in with lowest expectations possible thinking that the high rating is a result of a rabid fanbase clicking 5 stars on everything related they see.

I was happy to be proven wrong.

Writing is surprisingly great and faithful to the show, characters are faithfully portrayed and stay within their personalities and roles, it's a fun and decently interesting read, the amount of content is absolutely monstrous, it got a ton of QOL things (like picking your age, the way you see certain characters, to do it inside or outside e.t.c.), there is an option to skip any scene you aren't comfortable with, even the artstyle grew on me. If you like a heavy incest/harem type of game, that is absolutely something to experience.

There were couple detractors from experience however, first of all is a complete lack of sound. I am used to it but in a game of such otherwise immaculate quality this is something that stands out like a sore thumb and bring it a little bit down. Another thing that got on my nerves is characters often doing the same routine as previous sexual interactions, which is especially notable in Beth and Summer. You would think after first 7-8 times they would act at least a bit differently.

The main dissapointment however is how many secondary threads and characters are just completely abandoned. For good 90% of secondary characters you see just several times you keep thinking "alright, there is one last defining scene left, i can't wait for it", but it just never comes. Nancy, Gazorp people, Frank's mom, Vindicators, Reka, horse princess and many others feel like their stories are simply unfinished, their potential pregnancy never pays off (hell it doesn't pay off even for main cast), and overall the game just doesn't feel... finished. It just really need to tie a bow on everyone involved in one good perfect epilogue and it will be a rare geniune 5/5 game that actually deserves it. But it doesn't have this epilogue yet, so here we are.


Other than that it's a truly unexpected display of care, quality and passion that shines in almost everything it set out to do. So if you approach this with caution because you are not familiar with source material or doubt this is good, tis good.

There is a lot I could say about this. Too much really. So much that I'll say less instead.

Firstly, it is *heavy* on incest. And then rape, but all rape was optional. So, ya know. Save scummers paradise.
Pretty much every single sexual interaction was optional, which was neat. Naturally I said yes to everything.

There were some really arousing scenarios, for me. The blue anthro people with the generational bit was right up my alley, though not because they were blue anthros. Everything else about that was great, and I wish there were more stories like that.

There was so much content too. Most games/VNs I finish in one night. This one, 3. Lonnnng but good.

The only complaint I have is I wish there was more stomach bulge, as there were numerous scenes it would be fitting, and there was not pregnancy shown for the ending which I find lame.

5/5 game. If you don't like incest though, probably not nearly as interesting.

This game, is one of the best Ive played. the mechanics are good and the format is enjoyable. The characters stay true to there roles and the script is enjoyable. Thank you for the work displayed. I liked playing this game

Thumbs up for making the game available for all to enjoy. I never played the original and never watch the show, but I've seen bits and clips here and there and the story, the humour, in this game is great and captivating.

I don't mind about having no sounds because I always turn off the music whenever I play VN and just listening to the playlist on my Spotify. But... A big but about this one is that is barely any gameplay... Again, never play the original but the way the stories goes, it seems there is some exploration going on where you have to go to specific place etc... grinding, more choices that really matters and not just a choices of whether to skip the scene or watch it. It's more like kinetic VN for me. Yet, I still keep it and "play" it, because of the story and humor.

Pretty good Ren'py remake of an old Unity game.

Renders/Animations: The still images, although basic, are faithful to the show. The animations are also suprisingly good.

Story/Writing: The story was abit of a weak point for me, if i liked the show i would have probably found it more compelling.

Sound: None ..... at all.

There is also no real gameplay with some very basic choices, however the gallery options are very well done.
All in all this is probably a must play for any Rick & Morty fan.

Not a lot of things to say after some 100+ ratings but I will say that I hate Rick and Morty with a passion. So for me to rate it 5 stars, it speaks to the Dev's amazing work making these characters likable!

A phenomenal effort by Night Mirror. One of the best fan works (re-works?) I've had the pleasure to play.
It's difficult for me to say exactly how it compares to the original Unity version as it's been a while since I've touched that one, I feel this to be the true version.

Probably the best VN I've played through. The perfect amount of sexy with a really spot on character writing.
Insane amount of content with over a dozen girls with multiple scenes each. A lot of variety in fetishes too.
Incredible Ren'Py port too, pretty much better than the original Unity experience.

The game is simply amazing! The story is excellent, and the dialogue options are fun. Based on an already beloved cartoon, the game further expands the universe, surprising with its depth, captivating characters, and gameplay that keeps players engaged from start to finish. A masterpiece that does justice to the original material and goes even further!

Has everything I like, and honestly this is one of the all time greats of adult virtual novels at this time. I would love to see this game continue past where a way back home is. One or the other,certainly need to continue past everything!

Nice, I'll do the 100th rating. This is simply one of the best cartoon porn parody visual novels ever, no hyperbole here. Easily top 3. Mad props to both the original creator and the modder who did this Renpy version. You know it is a masterclass in game development when you can see between the lines the sheer amount of love and hours of work that these two infused here. Top tier quality.

THE GOOD:
+ Drawings are true to the source and done well overall. Later on scenes start having more animations which is always a plus. All of the women from the show, and even the OC for this game are sexy, specially in their CG versions.
+ The writing is pretty good overall. Characters are faithfully written and dialogue is short and to the point. It is still porn logic to be sure, but the writer clearly understands the source material and has good writing skill.
+ The character of Morticia (the female version of Morty from a parallel universe) is truly inspired and genius, honestly. It fits naturally in the source's lore and adds a ton of fun (and sexiness) to the story.
+ Lots of options to rename characters, change the descriptor of their relationships, nicknames, etc.
+ !!! Legit there is an impressive amount of content and sex scenes, with a decent variety of kinks and fetishes too. The 3 core ladies (mom, older sister and twin sister) are blessed with the most scenes, as they should, but the side chicks aren't too far behind either, so it's an absolute win all around. Currently 20 to 30 hours of enjoyable content is just excellent.
+ Lots of choices on scenes as well (a butt grinding can progress into consensual anal or rapey anal), cumming inside/outside, etc.
+ All of the usual Renpy facilities like roll back, history, quick save, etc. With even some welcome extras such as a scene gallery.

THE AVERAGE/NEUTRAL:
= The main "plot" of the game kinda gets sidelined in the mid-to-late game. Could have been better, could have been worse.
= Some repetition of reactions and dialogue from characters, given that they already fucked many times already.

THE BAD:
- There are a handful of minor nitpicks here and there, regarding a couple of characters, plotlines, scenes, dialogue etc. But honestly, the good points of the game heavily outweigh the negatives, so much so that I won't even bother elaborating, aside from 1 thing:
- The visual novel has no sound, like at all. No music, sound effect and much less sex sounds or moans. Nothing, just silence. I understand that sound design is a whole difficult job in its own right, but still, this is super bad and I could objectively remove 1 star from the rating, but it is a testament to the beautiful work done here that it still easily deserves more than full marks.

"Another Way Home" is the definitive version of this game without any question and Night Mirror is a saint for getting the full potential out of the original game without asking for anything in return.

Honestly, the R&M art style is usually not something that can turn you on. But, despite that, we have this game and it's fantastic in its genre. The story, the atmosphere, the kinks - all seem at place. The original characters are used (ahah, yeah) with mind and care. A ton of content and almost zero bugs (at least nothing close to game-breaking stuff).

Huge thanks to the original dev and the guy who ported it to RenPy for the amazing experience!
