VN - Ren'Py - Ripples [v0.7.0 BETA] [Jestur]

Well... VNs aren’t usually my cup of tea and I very rarely download them, this one just proved me right about not downloading them despite giving 4* to it, let me explain.

Will start out with CONS...

Models - many devs are using these cheap looking asian models I just can’t get over with, it ruined many games for me, female models are sometimes kinda cute in their own way, but those hideous ugly ass male models and especially the one all the devs are using as main character is just turn off for me. This is most likely personal preference, since all those games are kinda popular.

Writing - this is the major issue for me. Writing in this game is just lame, boring... all lovey dovey just usual shit from some teen virgin’s fantasy. At least that’s how I feel about it. I don’t need emotional roller-coaster which some very talented devs/writers are making, which I’m not too fond of either. Since I want to chill while playing good game and not to feel sad from some fucked up story. But writing in this game is really bad even if it feels like this dev tries...

PROS

Models - despite shitting on models above, gotta say this dev handled them much better then others do. Females look much better and less cheap and cartoony then from other games.

Renders - Immidiately when I see those models it always comes with those ugly, cheap looking renders as well, this game is different tho. Renders are very well done, all the backgrounds look pretty good and with lightning and all put together the results are very good at least in my eyes, which I didn’t expect at all.

Animations - very well done animations competing with the best available on this site. Both action and loops feel very natural even if it’s not perfect, you can tell that a lot of effort went into it.

Because of things mentioned above, I’d give this game 3*. But I can feel and tell how much effort this dev put into this game, which I value more than anything else and therefore I have to give this 4* despite not liking all that much.

i love every single thing in this game. story wise, it's truly interesting that you use past-present theme. i bet it's going to be more and moooreee confusing from now on, because when a story adapts time machine kinda thing as the theme, a lot of things must be considered, lots of theory must be applied. i mean there's the whole time paradox theory thingy, and so on. so, i can't wait to see how you're going to unveil the story in the future.

the animations are suppppppeeerbbb, i love every single details you put in all the scenes. i see that you're one of fews who divide the attention in foreplay equally. bcs some games forget that boobs exists, so i hope you keep on doing what you're doing right now. it's an excellent job so far

The production value is just off the charts. This is clearly made with an immense amount of attention and love, and the result is a compelling, emotional, erotic extravaganza.

My main critique, and it's not a big deal: the cutesy "small talk" dialogue can drag sometimes, particularly with Darci. I wish I liked Darci's character design more, because she's clearly a major focus of the story (and very well-written).
But as far as the small talk goes, it's really a matter of personal preference in pacing, and I think plenty of people will enjoy it just fine.

If you like incest, make sure you download the incest patch. The build-up with your mom is fucking excellent, and while the sister has a lot less content so far, I'm looking forward to stuff with her too. No sex with either yet.
And without spoiling anything, it's possible that the game may have way more incest than it lets on, lol.

Overall, it's super impressive and fun. Try it.

I found Ripples as a recommendation as I was looking for a game with a similar art style that I pref. Cant say I can complain. I really like this game. Its lightheartedness, its humor, artstyle, that the story is interesting enough and that their are hot milfs to look out for... Damn, its too bad that there are "only" 5-6 chapters out so far but im really looking forward to this games future. Its really good, thanks!

If you don't think you will like this game, you are wrong. there is nothing else like it. animated scenes, high quality characters, well thought out story. Even in its early stages this game is well worth it. Very well done and and expertly done graphic novel with a very promising outlook. Story is very well thought through and keeps you engaged even outside of the sex.

A surprisingly good visual novel amidst all the usual muck you would run into on this website. I don't write a lot of reviews and this VN flew past my bare minimum expectations. The author is treating this one seriously.

This is one of those times where you may be reading about all the reviewers singing praises for a game's storytelling - loud enough to make you skeptical - but as it turns out they weren't kidding around. Ripples has some of that magical charm to it that helps stick it out above the others. The novel ranges from light hearted to serious, and even the serious bits stay immersive.

The main thing you really need to know is the story isn't horribly cringey. Our Main Character isn't written like a 12 year old child stooge who never had a real conversation in his life. He and the other characters (The harem. Who am I kidding) all have their distinct personalities and cover a range of fetishes to appease the kink crazy players.

I'm actually curious where the plot will wind up going in this one. The Conspiracy/Mystery/Sci Fi backdrop is enough of a hook to make me want to see where it all goes.

The sex scenes are hot 9/10. If you want a visual novel with a good story that is still heavy on the erotic stuff. Here you have it.

If I had something to improve upon the visual novel, I would say some of the stock sex sounds could be better. Maybe just removed entirely for the voices.

The characters are all white washed. You're not going to see really any diversity in race or culture here.

The main character never really talks with another guy. Which is weird.

Really good game.Some of the best animations ive seen and a great story.The mc doesnt come off as a prick and i really like the whole 90s nostalgia thing.Th e characaters are also super hot.Im kinda annoyed we dont see more of scarlett as a milf but thats ok.Riley is a bit annoying i dont think any of her jokes landed for me but thats fine.

Wow! Great story, I was skipping past scenes to continue the story even. Not saying the scenes aren't top tier (tbh some of the best out there if not the best for 3DCG), but the way this was written is awesome! Getting to the end (v0.5) actually had me surprised, I was expecting something else entirely.
Also I can't believe how much content this has for being only v0.5, really makes me look forward to the rest, but I hope corners don't get cut and content dropped. 5/5

[v0.5.0] Good game which I got surprised because I didn't like the girl's models (they looks like dolls). My summary:

- Great story. Interesting, a lot of misteries, you want to know more about it. We well see at the end if it's really a great story or no.

- H-scenes are good. There is not much freedom to choose how develops the scene or how to end it, but they are in general good.

- Good animation. Some of them out of sex scenes, like when it starts an episode.

- The pace of the scenes are good. Moments for full story, time for scenes, I liked.

- Character design meh/good personally. All young females looks like dolls. I only got interested in the MILF, and they looks the same but with large breast and curvier. But this is physically, but almost all of them are well written and have different personalities.

- Good sound. Ambient music, moans... good.

- Technically no perfect. I didn't have any bug but almost all animations were laggy. I suppose they are not optimized yet

What I enjoyed:
+ Interesting premise. I love sci-fi, time travel stories. There aren't many AVNs that explore this setting and Ripples manages to provide a compelling story in this setting.
+ Art renders. The characters look quite good and there are plenty of attractive LIs in this HS game.
+ Animations. There are some great animations during the game and sometimes they are janky. Overall, I'm putting it as a positive due to the number of good animations outnumber the poor ones.
+ Character interactions. I think it's a strong point of Ripples. The interactions between the characters often bring a smile to my face. The inclusion of pop culture references throughout the story adds a bit of authenticity to it.
+ Lewd scenes. The scenes are great more often than not. Love how not everything isn't vanilla sex.

Meh:
= Music and Sound. Some good tracks in the game, but there's large spaces of silence. Also, not a big fan of the sex noises.
= Lack of character development for some LIs. Some LIs like the aunt and the nerdy friend have a lot of time dedicated to fleshing out their characters. While others do not and most of their story revolves around how much they love the MC/how much they lust for him. Characters like the sister have nothing going on for them, despite having a lot of scenes with our MC.

What could be improved:
- Romance. Almost all the girls fall for the MC waaaayyyy too easily. Apart from the bully, all of them are ready to jump MC's bones as soon as they meet him. Not a big fan of the dynamic.
- Lack of impact. Despite the changes that MC makes in the past, there's very little change that happens in the present timeline. I feel the dev could be a little braver. Add a character, delete one, etc.
- Lack of male characters. MC is a high schooler and he doesn't have a single male friend. I feel it's a missed chance at quality banter. The tech guy could get more involved in the story. I liked interactions with his character in the latest update.

For the reasons stated above, I'd rate it at 8.5/10. Good luck to the dev. Looking forward to the next update.

Wow, a game with hundreds of 5 star reviews that's actually not overrated.
I'm only in episode 2 right now but I'm having difficulties finding any flaws. Maybe the anime tangents.
Renders are gorgeous, conversations flow nicely, animations are smooth, and the plot just got interesting too.
My only wish now is for it to not be stuck in hiatus hell like other popular games on this site. Also, more tags would be nice too but that'd be just a bonus.

update: after catching up to ep 5 I have to agree with those saying the girls fall too fast for MC, especially since some of the cringe things he says would never work irl.
The comedy is pretty weak as well, with dated normie memes.
And lastly, I just wish this wasn't a kinetic novel because some of the choices MC takes are disappointing and even a bit frustrating when I think of Scarlet.

Well though and well done game with many scenes plus good story.Models good too i like it and for story yeah its long and lot of things happens here and there.

Sadly theres few problems here like updates feels short and when you go past you i wish author gives us more freedom with some plus and minus effects to future i think that that can be better for game.

Story is classic one guy banging everyone with big D but still story keeps you interested with time travel plus with some good characters here and i am not gonna say everyone of them good because like some of them can be annoying but still its solid and well done.

So this is worth to play or support ? %100 yes but i wish updates longer and theres more choices here other than that solid 5 star for me.

Love the story!! The scenes are very well done. I have played through a few of these graphic novels and this one is by far the best one yet. Really well done. I am so glad I found this. I can't wait to see more.

Sort of good, but not brilliant. Didn't get any hard feelings from this, but at least got a boner. Feels too slow paced for a porn-fest but at the same time too clippy for having a somewhat of a decent story. In the end, good porn game, not so good sci-fi visual novel. It's not a final version though... and I liked the style anyway, characters are really likeable.

The direction Ripples has taken thus far is fantastic and undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of it! Astounding visuals, erotic sex scenes, and a unique plot all contribute to the success of Ripples and make it one of the highest-rated AVNs out there. Although it's a great game, I do have a few problems. The abundance of love interests makes some stand out while others fade away. Lack of focus on the plot is a bit detrimental to the core of the game, and some sequences can be outright bland. Thankfully, as the game progresses, these problems are either resolved or are being solved as the game continues. To sum up, it's worth a shot and is definitely an experience to remember!

the girls, the sex scenes, the animations. everything is very well done and you can see the dedication and the intention to do it well.

For a Ren'Py game and a VN this I could consider this top tier. Up there with BeingADik. Honestly? I would even consider the animations above DIK which is saying something.

That said, as with most games similar to this one all the girls kind of have a similar look and the dudes look... well... you know what I mean lol. Creative uses of keeping the MC's face from getting seen but the parts you do see you are like... why are all these women into him? lol. But whatever I guess.

Pretty good story which kept me fairly interested even post nut. Which lets be real, that doesn't happen often lol. MC isn't an asshole or a pus, somewhere in the middle. Girls are different enough to keep it interesting but nice to see each of their stories progress. Hell, even made me like body types im usually not that into so yeah lol.

I would say at least up to current (Ch. 5) It has been great but this is also from someone who hadn't played the game until very recently. Maybe with slow updates people would be unsatisfied.

It would also be nice if choices mattered more than just kind of "Do you want to pursue this girl or not" But I suppose that's more of the VN format. There was however a dominant approach question that oddly enough was greyed out due to a cookie question... If you know, you know. LOL

Gripping storyline, great graphics, hella funny! And I really want to find out what happens next, every episode is like the ultimate cliffhanger, you just need to know why the characters act like they do and can't wait for the reasons to be revealed.

Over all this is a very good VN.

I can see it's influenced by anime and my anime experience is limited to a few shows I like.

The models look good, the Dev seems to be throwing in variety rather than having all the girls with weirdly over sized boobs which is a plus. The graphics and animations are done very well.

Darci has been an early favorite of mine both her character and physically however she has shaped up to be the tsundere one which easily can get old and annoying. She's quickly being surpassed by other girls, notably Alyssa and 1999 Jenny. Hopefully the Dev will have her relax some with the MC and her feelings for him sooner rather than later.

There are a couple characters that are a bit annoying or don't add much to the story, Jessica and mom's yoga friend ( forgot her name already) but not too major.

The story line and writing are entertaining and done well. Any story involving time travel can easily become convoluted or flat out weird like someone becoming their own father or father of their sister, hopefully this one stays away from that. Sometimes keeping things simple or straight forward is best.

One area this also shines are the little easter eggs sprinkled in such as the picture of Judie on Alyssa's dresser, George Carlin's 7 words you can't say on T.V. and the nod to Rias Gremory in the cell phone wall papers as examples.

This is a VN where I look forward to updates. I can't wait to see how things progress with Tiffany and to see where things go with Jessica. Hopefully more of Jenny as well, hopefully without the story line getting too complex or weird twists, this one is good enough it doesn't need extra gimmicks.
