Ren'Py - Abandoned - Rocking Robin [v0.8B] [Robbery1211]

Love the game, have only been hooked as much to a game as I have this, to Being a Dik. Only wish I want is that there's some mini games or better animations.

AAnd realy I'd really wish there was more black girls. Tikkoya is awesome but can't get too many different ethnicties!

This game has really come into its own over the past while. I think the renders, gameplay, and storytelling have all improved to the point where it feels like the dev is now in a comfortable spot to have a consistent level of quality.
The setup for the story is easy to understand, but still has the potential for enough twists and turns to keep a player occupied. The renders and character models have a style of their own and I enjoy the variety of available. The sandbox element will be decisive for most, but I think the dev's really trying to justify the style and do something entertaining with it. If not, then there is always the option to try the VN mode; though it really feels like the intended version is the sandbox style.
Nothing's perfect though and something could use some improvement. AS mentioned before, the sandbox gameplay can use some improvement by finding a way to make information more clear to the player. There is a hint system, but more than often it;s the only source for a player to know what their next step will be. If a player has to keep going to the map to click a hint button then they're not really playing a game, they're checking a list. The renders of the characters are great, but I think they could be astounding with some more attention to creative lighting and framing. I think that could really add to the experience, especially when the posing stands out as really unique. Animations could really use some fine-tuning as well. Things like clipping and dragging frames are common at the moment. They don't break the experience, but they can be improved to have a greater impact. Lastly, I think some of the characters could be strengthened. Some of them like Elaine and momma have the potential to be very intriguing characters, but some other have yet to be defined or have a very limited scope of character. A good example with be Lana and Robin who are both very sweet and likable, but they're defined very little outside of their interest to the MC. I'm not saying they have to be like wholly independent but I think it helps to have your love interests have more to them than just loving the player.

Overall, I think this game has tons of promising things going for it. Any of the criticisms I have can easily be worked on as the dev keeps working and they seem really receptive to their audience and that puts them miles above so many others. This is good game with so much potential to be great and I'm happy to say that with this update it's really taken the steps down that path of greatness. I can't wait to see what this has going for it next and I especially hope that this gets more attention because this is something that can really go somewhere with enough support.

Verry good game. It has nice models, lot of scenes, and interesting setting. It's crime triller and teenage comedy, well something halfway, even if bit exaggerated, but don't forget it's porn, and you will always have some tropes. There is some minimal grind, but nothing annoying. Also, players should always chose sandbox version, as VN is secondary addition. I would go further wit description, but no, go and play it. Kudos to author.

ROCKING ROBIN [v0.6C] [Robbery1211]

"ROCKING ROBIN" by Robbery1211 is a game that I was genuinely excited to try out, but it turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience. From the very beginning, it became evident that the game had major issues that hindered my enjoyment.

The first glaring problem was the game's writing. It was not just subpar; it was downright painful to endure. The dialogue and narrative felt contrived and overly melodramatic, making it hard to take the story seriously. The characters, unfortunately, didn't fare any better. They were one-dimensional and lacked any depth or complexity. It felt like the developer had used generic character assets without putting any thought into their personalities or motivations. The result was a cast of forgettable and unrelatable characters.

To make matters worse, the character designs were uninspired and, frankly, unattractive. Each character seemed to share a similar, cheap appearance that didn't do justice to the potential of the game. When you're playing a visual novel or a game with romantic elements, you expect the characters to be visually appealing and well-designed, but "ROCKING ROBIN" fell short in this regard.

Perhaps the most baffling aspect of the game was the choice of a mafia backdrop. This setting typically demands a strong and compelling protagonist, but the main character in this game was anything but that. Instead of a character with depth and motivation, we got a college student stereotype whose primary goals seemed to be chasing after romantic interests and a shallow quest to reclaim his father's legacy. This lack of substance in the main character made it difficult to become invested in the story.

Despite a few nice animations here and there, the overall lack of quality in "ROCKING ROBIN" overshadowed any positive aspects. It felt like a missed opportunity, as the game had the potential to offer an engaging and enjoyable experience but instead left me with a sense of disappointment.

In conclusion, "ROCKING ROBIN" is a game that falls short in numerous ways. Its subpar writing, unappealing character designs, and a poorly executed mafia backdrop make it a regrettable gaming experience. I had hoped for more from this game, but it ultimately failed to deliver on its promise, leaving me with a feeling of frustration and missed potential.

This game is great, I just hope the Dev continues in the same direction as it is a very enjoyable story. I really enjoy that you have Story mode and Sandbox, to me with the hint system it is very original in concept. KUDOS!! Also I really enjoyed the animation top notch and the storyboard is great the writing is first class, and easy to follow with no grammatical error or crazy words that are not explained like BoB ... Boss of Bosses nice concept brought into the story. Looking forward to the continuation.

the models somes are average but some are pretty gud as well

some scenes feel like they not implemented yet so that breaks the immersion a bit..

but its a decent game so far and I recommend everyone to at least give it a try ...

This vn is amazing the best animations i ever seen in a vn!, the renders are good and the history is pretty good too, I really liked the WT option. Good job dev!. this vn is already in my favorites list of vn games.

I really want to give it only a 3 as I find the renders are tad generic but when the dev added the option of a WT assisted game or a VN mode that was a really cool choice. Extra star for the effort that lets it be a game or VN depending on user preference.

Good and huge job. Lots of texts which not ease to read sometimes for not-natives. The worst thing I foun is that in Novel mode all the time texts seems to be like it cuted with scissors and main line were broken. But after a little time it returns to a straight line. Good thing is that it's very complex and interesting story.

This game has it all. Rich story, catchy tunes, great use of modern DAZ assets and humor. It also has my dream GF. I'm gonna send some bucks to the dev for sure. I really want to see where this one goes.

I've been following this game since it first appeared as a demo. In that version the MC was black as were most of the other characters. They were beautiful renders. Check it out if you can find it. It was hot. My fave the female cousin. A fantastic start. Not only unique in its ethnic breakdown, but had the kinks that I like. I don't know why the Dev abandoned the black theme. He got heat for it being an in da hood trope and might have feared the accusation he was playing to racist stereotypes. There's so much criticism sometimes in the comments, it can really shake a beginner dev. The original MC was cast as a normal young guy with a balanced personality. Black men in adult games are mostly portrayed as cliché figures for bbc fetishists in scenarios that are latently and often blatently racist. I cringe just thinking about it. That wasn't the case here' I hope there will be a good non white story soon in the near uniform whiteness of adult Renpy games.

Anyway, the characters were recast as mostly white, with pretty much the same dialogue. Sandbox gameplay was a little hit and miss with large time gaps between events, the timing of which was not always clear. So, enter the critics.

Dev restructures the game.
Sandbox or VN, players choice. Hints system, difficulty settings, cheat system all introduced. Now a mass of options to set to your liking.

The renders are still beautiful. The animations are mostly well crafted and a pleasure to watch. The story has an organized crime theme with incest overtones if you want. And gameplay is now fluid.

Revamping the game several times, cost a lot of time and the Dev has lost a lot of patrons. I hope that there's an uptick for him now. He has obviously invested great effort into this game and I think it's now reached a point where the game can be described as very good quality with fluid dialogue, no bugs, gorgeous women, and easy or difficult gameplay depending on player preference. I've decided to support him. The game was downloaded 25,000 times. Robbery has just 80 patrons. Consider becoming a patron and supporting the dev's hard work if you like the game.

Very good game, animations are amazing, rendering too, the story is very interesting, the progression is not too grindy.

I hope we will get a lot more content though, we are at 0.6 but we seem to be far from the end, the dev did a great job, and this game deserve to be more known.

Just an advice this game is meant to be played as sandbox, the vn is not that great.

there's both sandbox and vn mode but there seems to be no real point in the sandbox as stuff still happens in the same order.

other than that its a fairly engaging story with a few variations of characters of varying depth. overall while not the best iv seen i had an enjoyable time playing.

Review:
This game is extremely bad to play, there are two game modes which are VN and Sandbox, I tested Sandbox and that's where I saw that it is completely bad. Do you know when you try to get all the elements of various games and put them all in one? This is basically it. A bad story, a tiring and very poorly organized gameplay. Another bad detail is the fact that there are numerous characters, which ends up greatly disrupting the gameplay. Many characters are good when you can organize them all, making a script for each one, giving life to the character and not doing something vague as this game has. The downside of this game is this, you can put hot and beautiful girls, but it doesn't pay. Since many of the scenes are bad and animations are regular. What this game needs is a good set up, is whether it will create a VN or a Sandbox, if creating a Sandbox make the characters come alive and interact correctly. Writing scripts is fundamental, in addition it also needs to adjust the look because it is quite poor.

So, why did i give 1 star?
Because this game is too poorly organized. The placement of the characters is strange, the story is bad, the gameplay is bad. I wasted my time playing this. As I mentioned before, you can put a lot of hot and beautiful girls in the game, but you need to organize, you need to give life, you need to know what the game is about, how to shape the story, how to make the scripts, what will be, VN or Sandbox, put everything together left very organized, but this is not the problem of this game, there are several problems in it. Anyway, I do not recommend.

Hm. This game has a lot of goods, and a real lot of bads.

I'm going to start with the goods:

-The girls are absolutely gorgeous.
-The MC is a decent dude.
-The story is interesting, albeit a little crowded.
-The characters are pretty interesting and have different personalities.
-There is a significant amount of content currently.

Now all that being said, the game was enjoyable for sure but there are some issues that really detract from how good this game could be in my opinion:

-The conversations sometimes feel a bit robotic and on rails.
-There aren't really many choices.
-The game has an option to be a VN and a sandbox but I feel in doing so it results in it being subpar at both of these.
-The game is rather spread meaning the days consist of doing 1 or 2 things and then repeating an event during bed time for the most part; I would prefer if the game was more condensed and more would happen in a single day.
-As I stated above, the repeated events are pretty meh.
-You can't say no to some women from what I could tell. I was forced into a sub relationship unless I somehow messed something up.

So in conclusion, the game suffers a lot from all these issues and it makes the finished product feel a bit messy. In spite of this, I actually did enjoy the game and the story was fun to explore. I do wish some of these issues could be rectified and I seriously would consider giving this game a 5. But for now, it really deserves a 3 from my perspective.

I love the unique story with the options of ether sandbox or just renpy.

Very slow progression, confusing goals and too many bugs, is one of the games that does not prompt me to download new updates.

Terrific game! I really think that this game deserves to get more attention. There is a unique story, great renders, and the scenes are hot. Also the ability to go sandbox or VN style is a really cool feature. Not much for cons, but grammar could use a bit of work, but nothing too bad. Can't wait for more releases, this game has tons of potential and I think its a hidden gem on this site!

While this game has very hot models, the fact that the developer doesn't allow any way for you to change your answers, go back, or even just a way to read dialogue you may have missed rubs me the wrong way. Otherwise would be an amazing game.
