...and it's the second time so far I've lowered myself to see the purple leper and the tree squatter and my fucking life, they're even uglier the second time.
I would have said that "it's actually not that bad" and that I was just clout-chasing for internet points. But I finally got to the part where the game intros both girls, and the game showed me Greedent first, which knocked a lot of wind out of my sails, so my previous criticisms stand as such.

I have discovered a new kind of disappointment: Specifically the kind where you know already know how bad the situation is going to go, like, the writing as on the wall for months, including pictures. But because you weren't an active catalyst in how things were going down, you still had that sliver of optimism that things weren't going to be that bad. But then you eventually get involved/witness the bad thing happening, and it's still worse than you expected - like, you were expecting a 2/10 experience, but you got either a 1/10 or a 0/10. And now I'm in the cycle of waiting for Oni to fully implement characters so Prime can fix and improve the game.

Okay. I can say that Psylocke is not that bad, Still needs some work, but still got the job done. But my running thought when pursuing Doreen for the sake of prosperity is "...Why am I doing this?"

got the same errors with npcs have fun by themselves and thresomes as well. Waiting for the next updates whenever he decides to publish it -.-

So, if I understand correctly, The Null Hypothesis is developing much faster despite having a smaller budget. It's transitioning from a mod to a full-fledged game that doesn't even resemble its original code anymore. It looks better, runs smoothly, and has a story (Juggernaut is freaking awesome). How on earth is anyone still supporting RL-E? Probably just out of sentiment... And just like CS went from a mod to a giant on Steam, I hope TNH delivers just as well.

Sure, I get that grinding and long-term hard work are important, but spending 8 years on a game that only has a few repetitive romantic storylines... even Duke Nukem Forever looked more ambitious in its trailers (all of them from 1997 to 2011...). RL-E doesn't even have a storyline... It's cool to finally get Emma Frost into bed, but... that's it. 8 years of work, and that's all. If houses were built as slowly as Patreons create games, we'd be fighting bears for available caves.

It all goes back to Oni not wanting anyone helping him. TNH has a team working on it, while Oni go-horses everything because he doesn't want help. And it's not for a lack of volunteers, many have offered to help for free.
As I see it they are completely different games. TNH is very linear and history driven, while RLE is much more of a sandbox with no real history. Both are great games, but TNH is only fun once you finish the story, meanwhile in RLE all you do is having fun with the girls.
I like both for what they are, but TNH still has a ton of potential to grow, while RLE has peaked and there's not much room for improvement, especially because Oni gives zero fucks (pun intended) to what his fan base wants and is not willing to improve on his work.
