RPG maker game doesnt start.

I double click the Game.exe file to start it but nothing happens. I see the game is running in task manager but that's it. it will continue running unless I end the task
looks like I get this error in debug log
[0603/104221.038:ERROR:registration_protocol_win.cc(56)] CreateFile: The system cannot find the file specified. (0x2)

I dont know about anyone else's luck. but I booted up a fresh install of windows 11 on a VM. and it still didn't launch lol. it looks like its missing its 'data' file now that I'm looking at it.
Update: it actually launched on the VM but I got a Cannot read property 'frame' of null. I'm just gonna chalk it up to the game being broken itself

Okay, a quick search on google lead to some answers. All points to an error on your side, with some file(s) being corrupted/missing, or incompatible with your system.

One of the answers come from here, but I really do not recommend it. It's trying to kill a fly with a nuke. Sure, it solved the issue for that user, but there's without a single doubt a possibility to do a surgical strike and only delete a few files instead of blindly removing hundreds and breaking half the already installed software.

so copy everything from nw.js and paste it into the game file where the exe is located? or in the www file? does this include the nw.js executable?

I also noticed that whenever I start it in task manager. it constantly creates these tmp files.

just adding that I checked my other rpgm games and they still work, thankfully.

Gonna venture a guess, whatever they used to pack the game is causing it. I've never seen an MV game be just an exe. The game is probably just completely incompatible with whatever you've got going on.

I never actually downloaded it, I just saw your image. (Nothing against you, I'm just too conditioned to not click random links.) But I don't believe it would run. All of your errors are saying that the game is trying to load a file that doesn't exist. If the game is packed incorrectly and missing a file, there's nothing you could do and no way for you to know.

Two things I can suggest if that's not the actual issue.

Switch your system to japanese locale and re-extract from the zip file. It could be you PC fucking up the japanese file names into unicode gobblegook.

Side note, I doubt this game is going to be any good. Any developer(s) who think it's a good idea to pack an entire game into one exe file have zero clue what they're doing.

I don't know if it'll work, but you might be able to use the EnigmaVBUnpacker
