The game launches for about 3seconds on a black screen then closes. This exact same thing happens on every RPG VX Ace game, any other rpg game works perfectly from what i can tell.
This only started happening after i reinstalled windows, I made sure I have all my drivers up to date and all RTP's Installed.
Thank you all for reading this and attempting to help, please stay extra cosy tonight or however you prefer :)

One error i've recieved is from a game called Zombie's Retreat 0.2.2 which reads:
Zombie's Retreat - Beta 0.2.2.exe - Application Error
The exception Breakpoint
A breakpoint has been reached.
(0x80000003) occured in the application at location
0x00000000004EDD29
Not sure if this is an RPG VX Ace game but the error might give us leads on the cause :/ Let me know what you think

Notes:
I use Avast free anti virus which worked fine on my other install of windows when I ran rpg vx ace games
I've tried restarting my computer and reinstalling the RPG Game VX Ace RTP from the offical website
I use Winrar to extract just like i did on my old install of windows
I tried scanning my pc [with AVAST and Malwarebytes], found no threats as you would on a clean install of windows
Everything to my knowledge is up to date
Reinstalled multiple games and unzipped into different locationd, still the same results
Coudln't find anythign on google ._.
Tried opening command promt and using the SFC /Scannow command and everything is in the clear
Booted into windows safe mode and I still get the same results
Installed all Microsoft Visual Redistributable C++ as Jerricho13 suggested
Added the game's exe to avast's exception
Ran the game as administrator and tried multiple compatability modes

Solution: Reinstalled windows which solved my problem

EDIT: I found some errors in event viewer

Tips:
  • Verify that you have the latest video drivers (I think RPGM uses OpenGL).
  • Also, I can't remember if Microsoft Visual Redistributable C++ is required, but it can't hurt to install.
  • Add the game's .exe file to Avast's exceptions/whitelist.
  • Run game as Administrator.
  • Try running game in different Compatability modes (Win 7, XP, etc).

Other things to try:
1) Uninstall/reinstall VX ACE
2) Make sure your copy of WinRAR is up to date or use 7zip.
3) Install .
4) If the games you're trying to run are Japanese, change your system locale to Japanese or use a locale emulator.

Also, it would help if you listed your system specs (OS, video card, RAM, CPU).
