RPGMLocalizer - Automated Translation Tool for RPG Maker
Translate RPG Maker XP, VX, VX Ace, MV, and MZ Games with Ease!
Introduction
Hi everyone! I'm excited to share a tool I've been working on. RPGMLocalizer is a modern, user-friendly application designed to automate the translation of RPG Maker games. Whether you want to play a Japanese game in English or localize a project into another language, this tool streamlines the entire process.
It uses high-quality machine translation (Google Translate) and sophisticated parsing to ensure that game scripts, control codes, and data structures remain intact.
Key Features
- Wide Engine Support: Supports RPG Maker XP, VX, VX Ace (.rubymarshal) and MV, MZ (.json).
- Smart Translation: Automatically handles batching and caching for maximum speed.
- Safe & Secure:
- Placeholder Protection: Intelligently preserves control codes like `\V[1]`, `\C[0]`, ensuring game logic doesn't break.
- Speaker Extraction: Correctly identifies and translates speaker names in MZ games.
- Backup System: Automatically creates backups of original files before modifying them.
- User Control:
- Blacklist Filtering: Use Regex to exclude specific text (like file paths or internal keys) from translation.
- Glossary: Define your own terms to force consistent translations.
- Resume Capability: Stop and resume translation at any time without losing progress.
- Modern UI: Clean, dark-themed interface built with Fluent Design principles.
How to Use
- Launch `RPGMLocalizer.exe`.
- Click Browse and select the `Game.exe` of the RPG Maker game you want to translate.
- Select the Target Language (e.g., English, Spanish, Turkish).
- Click the Run Translate button.
- Wait for the process to finish and enjoy the game!

Note: It is still in the development phase. Although it generally translates games, there are still some untranslated texts left. I will get to those over time, hopefully. Also, keep in mind that some features may not work as expected. Remember, this is a program in the development phase. If you encounter any errors, please report them.
