VN - Others - Completed - Saimin Gakushuu -Secret Desire- [Final] [Dark One!]

Saimin Gakushuu would not be impressive as a first adult VN with "Hypnosis" (controlling someone) in the premise. The good starts to emerge, when you think back to similarly themed VNs, and how they tend to rupture any and all common sense, by turning hypnosis to an all-purpose form of magic. In Saimin Gakushuu the drivel will eventually pile-up (unavoidable?), but for once they considered the concept of suggestion, and emphasized altering behaviours over long(er) periods of time.

What you get here is not "let's have sex, eyes fade to black", it's "i bet you couldn't have sex with me, even if you tried really hard" and then the heroines prove you wrong (not really reverse psychology, in the "neighborhood" perhaps). All in all, much better than the usual, and there's an underlying comedic tone to the whole thing, derived from small twists in personality that lead to outlandish (sexual) situations.

Positive:
- Manipulative behaviour in line with the premise and tag; Lots of H-scenes, there's no (big) harem ending, but oyakodon is good enough; For once the class rep (iinchou) route was the most compelling of the bunch (don't remember the last time that happened); Voice acting, even if some heroines are over the top in the 18+; There's a story, and events take time to unfold; A number of imaginative situations, that are based on "planting ideas" and controverting good reasoning; Heroine POVs after brainwashing effect; And proactive protagonist, with planning skills, some restraint.

Neutral:
- Art Style - You discuss art at your own discretion, not much of a fan of this one.

Negative:
- Limited technically; Fun and original VN, and yet the novelty doesn't last very long; Setting and plot ramifications are complicated (protagonist would get caught, there's no human way to account for all the variables. Not much of a negative though); Bonus harem ending absence seems strange; At the end of the day we're still dealing with large sums of unbelievable material, in particular altering someone's will (needs a longer VN to be fixed).

Score: 7/10 for now, i need to think back to other similar VNs, and what they delivered. Regardless of changes to score, this was an interesting read, with enough production values, and adequate adult content. Can't ask for much more, recommended if you want a different take on the subject of (18+) mind control.

Hey, if you are interested in some nice graphics and like clicking and clicking and clicking just to have the payoff screens censored then this is the 'game' for you. Not much of a game really, just a censored japanese comic book on your computer.
I gave this two stars as the scenes for what they are are good quality, but after (not) seeing even the pussy of the first girl I am going to drop this after only 15mins of clicking. For me a bit of a waste of time, but if you don't mind only seeing boobs and nipples then go for it.

I had really high hopes for this game but sadly it's a huge dissapointment. Finally a properly translated mind control game with beautiful art and 2 adult heroines, but the story and scenes are very lacking.

You don't get to choose which girl you want, you always get the main school girl and then get to choose if you want more girls or not (not which girl you want next, that's decided by the game, this is the only choice in the entire game). And so the other girls are treated as just mere side characters. I played the mother-daughter route and even in the epilogue the mom is barely there, you don't even get to see her supposed pregnancy.

The scenes are kind of underwhelming as well, in most of them the girls are completely covered up, either wearing full clothing or the guy almost completely obscuring the view. Often times the pictures don't even line up with what's being described, for example: one titjob scene says the girl is pushing her tits together but on the picture it's the guy holding her tits.

I was pleasantly surprised by this VN, usually I'm not too much into hypnosis but this one was nice.
The setup is pretty simple, a deadbeat protag finds some shady hypnosis trick and uses it to fuck stuck up girls that hate him for being lazy. However, unlike most hypnosis stories, the protagonist actually is smart. He works slowly, doesnt take chances, and doesnt do stupid stuff only to be saved by 10 layers of plot armor. Also, he decides to fuck the girls himself instead of sitting in a corner watching them get fucked. Which for some reason a lot of protagonists dont do.
The girls are pretty basic. You have your slightly childish class rep thats bitchy, your school idol with a killer body thats bitchy, your career woman head of school that's bitchy, and a teacher that with a surpressed sex life thats bitchy. Simple but the archetypes are decently executed.
The hypnosis type is the "twist ideas so girls think having sex with a guy they hate is totally normal". The protagonist also keeps them hating him until the end.
The fetishes are pretty standard. Although there are a few specific ones that are a bit less vanilla. The girls are told to masturbate pulling their clit and fingering their butt. And their clit grows as they turn sluttier. Most girls also get buttfucked. There is also oyakodon (mother/daughter), and the writer is smart enough to have the mother touch her daughter's body while shes getting impregnated. And then the daughter participates in watching her mom get impregnated.
Only issue i have with the story is that you are told the protagonist plans ahead and makes sure he doesnt make mistakes, but you dont actually read what he did until the girl is getting fucked. So there is no buildup where you see the girl learn dirty things, and then after a few training sessions have sex and show off what she learnt.

And that is why I think this VN is pretty good. The hypnosis is well done and doesnt blatantly break suspension of disbelief, by making everyone stupid. The art is good, in threesome scenes the girl not getting fucked is still participating, there is buildup on each girl getting fucked and the fetish content generally leans into what makes that fetish attractive, rather than an author just ticking a box, without understanding what makes it hot.

(FYI There is no gameplay its just reading except maybe 2 choices that just choose who you want to focus on basically).

Honestly not a bad VN. There is an obvious lack of story and mostly centered around just mind control sex. But the CG isn't bad and the slight corruption build up isn't bad either. Very quick game though does not take long to complete unless your trying to check like every route.
