Overview:
Sakura MMO #2 is the direct sequel to Sakura MMO. Viola’s story continues in the magical land of Asaph!

Less than a month prior, Viola was a lawyer bored with her life, who lived in Japan. Her only form of escape was the popular MMO, Asaph Online – but after a shocking turn of events, Viola finds herself transported inside her favorite game!

In Asaph, Viola recruits several cute girls to her party, including the devout maid Neve, the easygoing thief Fion, and the righteous knight Eleri. Together, Viola’s party explore Asaph, taking on quests and defeating monsters.

Though Viola enjoys her days in Asaph, which are filled with fun and excitement, she can’t help but feel that something is missing. Who summoned her to Asaph, and for what reason? Will she ever be able to return to Japan – and does she really want to?

Find out in this exciting sequel full of mysteries, fight scenes, and (most importantly of all) cute girls in skimpy outfits!

Woohoo.

After WC failed me by cancelling the sequel to Sakura Fantasy I started to panic a bit when I found out MMO was going to have multiple parts. I quite enjoyed the first part and thought it would fail me like Fantasy did and leave me with an unfinished story.

This gives me a bit of faith back in him.

I never thought there would be a sequel.
Call me surprised.
ya dont know the dev team lol...

thoses dev will never cease to reuse out of date stuff, recycling or else... (because honestly, all thoses sakura games are the same... with few changes)

expect some "Sakura Blacked" or "Sakura Sakura" (because out of names)

They create a sequel for this..

..but still nothing for Sakura Fantasy. Which is still stuck at the first chapter for three years? Goddammit .-.

Do Sakura games have any actual mechanics or just a click through VN with a couple of choices?

Most Sakura games have some degree of choice that dictate the ending, but generally there is only 3 endings that you can get in 20 minutes if you skip the text. Most of the choices are just "good answer for Girl A, good answer for Girl B, and third route (maybe harem, maybe third girl?)"

Ie. exactly like roughly 97% of all VNs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't know, I think this is a pretty negative opinion to have on a dev team, especially when it's coming from another developer. There are very few h-games nowadays that aren't "recycled" to some degree, be it gameplay or artstyle. I enjoy a fresh, innovative porn game as much as the next person... but Sakura games ain't broke, so why fix them?

that's opinion of multiples peoples, at least i can see lots of others peoples thinking the same as me.
i know they are some recycled games all around... but the Sakura games are very recycled honestly, i dont talk about the art style, wich is a good thing. but in global look of gameplay, story and stuff... they all pretty same.
combined with the fact that they aren't very long and pretty short.
for me, i would prefer them to take their time and bring out an big game, instead of publishing a bunch of small games as quick as possible.

just my opinion..

Very true, I certainly agree with you there. Sakura Dungeon was honestly the only game by them that I actually really enjoyed, simply because it wasn't a generic VN like the rest of them and had fairly interesting mechanics. The VNs are so similar that it's actually difficult to think back and remember specific characters. But the games seem to sell well (otherwise I guess they wouldn't be making so many of them), so that big game with lots of dev time may never happen. :(

Here's hoping it does, though.

You just described essentially the entire VN market, a few avant-garde outliers nonwithstanding. The basic story structure of the vast majority can be readily distilled to a small handful of well-worn formats and themes.

As a rule of thumb you're not normally going to get too much variety in either the recipes or the ingredients, so to speak, in commercial VNs; the differences come from the execution (what the cook does with them, to continue the food allegory). It's a bit like theatrical productions where the exact same play can be anything from unspeakable garbage to a masterpiece depending on the actors, director and so on.
