Well, my worst fears came to fruition: it feels like the dev started something moderately interesting, then just kind of gave up the ghost partway through to focus on other projects (that will probably never see the light of day, as is the norm lately).
I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a game that I was truly looking forward to playing. If this is the complete and final version with no updates on the horizon, then your time will be better wasted elsewhere.
