After a long damn while, I’ve finally stumbled across an erotic game that’s actually somewhat playable.
Honestly this might be the highest score I’ve ever given—well, okay, I once gave 3 stars to something, but here I’d rather use a 0–10 scale, and a 6 feels more accurate.
First of all, finally something that’s not RPGMaker / Ren’Py / “mobile interface” shovelware.
As someone who entered the world of erotic games around the turn of the millennium with Leisure Suit Larry and later 3D Sex Villa, 3D visuals have always been a bit of a disappointment for me. Making a 3D porn game where the animations don’t look like total ass is a ton of work—so much so that even in visual novels that only present 3D renders on 2D backgrounds, you can still spot the awkward, robotic stiffness in their animations.
Sarah’s House (v0.7) takes on this not-so-easy task—and I’ve gotta say, visually I was pleasantly surprised.
If I can highlight something truly positive right away, it’s the intimacy the game manages to convey through its 3D visuals. The little close-ups, kisses, grabbing girls by the chin, those subtle touches between characters… often feel passionate and realistic. Especially when MC closes his eyes and you have to switch to third-person to even see what’s happening. The soft color palette also fits the overall tone of the game beautifully.
Now the not-so-good on visuals, which others have mentioned already: sometimes the animations go completely nuts, skirts go supernova like they’ve entered a nuclear reaction, characters snap their wrists backwards, and occasionally someone just phases through a door like they’re late for work.
It breaks immersion, sure, but thankfully it rarely leads to actual bugs.
The story? Pretty basic and bland.
I’m willing to bet there are as many “Dude moves in with a house full of girls in Japan and plows them like a feral combine harvester” games on F95 as there are MILFs named Sarah. No revolution in originality here.
Character development is also exactly what you’d expect.
The following sentence could be printed on the back of a CD case (that’s a reference for us older folks) for about a thousand other games:
MC arrives by train (because of course) to the middle of nowhere to live with his aunt who has X daughters. Not sure which of them is the horniest… The lineup is always the same: the mom is a brown-haired milf whose husband is either dead or works 29 hours a day, the black-haired girl in green is always the nerdy quiet one who’s secretly soft inside, the cutesy blonde is the oldest cheerful girl with a boyfriend, and there’s always some pink-haired youngest walking hormone whose first words in life were “I’m 18 now” to explain why the clearly 12-year-old-looking girl will also be fucking.
But in Sarah’s House there’s a twist.
There are only two girls, the green one is missing, and instead there’s a husband whose design screams “I escaped from Koikatsu Studio and now look like a post-op lesbian.” Everything else fits the stereotype perfectly though.
Back to the character development: besides the zero-originality archetypes, there is actual progression and corruption.
And honestly, there’s at least a bit of care and love in that part—even if it often leans on the fact that our anti-hero Mr. Cuckold (Sarah’s husband) is blind, stupid, and possibly legally dead inside.
I’d say the girls’ sexual development is fairly well done, and some of them (of course) fall for the MC’s gargantuan cock with zero hesitation while you have to work for it with others. The girl you pick up at the store and get blackout drunk on the third date will spontaneously suck you off, while Sarah and Lucy could probably be on the cover of a grindcore album.
Getting between Sarah’s legs actually has a decent and natural progression (though built once again on the tired “my husband ignores me and this young stud puts wind where there’s cobwebs” cliché) but it’s executed so badly it feels unrewarding.
Imagine trying to finish a 1000-piece puzzle but each piece is a mile apart.
Soon the game becomes a loop:
Sleep – Nap – Nap – Nap – Nap – smash your face with the door – lift Sarah’s shirt by 1 inch while watching TV – repeat.
Don’t get me wrong—I like that the “main trophy of the house” doesn’t just open her legs the second MC kicks the door in (well… ironically, the intro literally starts with MC already fucking her), and that you have to work for it…
but this grind is just badly designed.
If the nightly scenes were longer but stayed focused on intimacy—touching, stroking, cuddling—it would be way more rewarding than the current slog.
Another downer is the lack of detail.
I’m the kind of player who loves snooping around and exploring environments, but here a lot of assets are empty, placeholder-y, or just quickly slapped together, which really hurts the atmosphere.
But overall, I think the game has huge potential.
I get that the dev won’t rewrite the entire core concept just for me—but they could double down on what they’re already doing well: deepen the intimacy, polish the animations, make progress more rewarding (not meaning “escalating” but more passionate).
And for the love of god, some of the half-baked mechanics (peeping, minigames, locations, side characters, unused rooms…) really need more depth.
Right now the game offers a few hours of gameplay, with quality being a bit of a rollercoaster.
I’ll gladly come back for updates, and would even support future development financially if it goes in the right direction.
