Saved Games

Getting tired of downloading updates of a game to find out that previous saves no longer work. Tired of starting from scratch to have this happen over and over again. What am I doing wrong? What can be done to prevent this?

That's on the dev, not you. There's not much you can do other then urge newer devs to plan things accordingly to ensure future save compatibility.

What an introduction. Sounds like you need to wait for a game to be further along before playing it, or download a full save by a generous individual who has played through the update and provided it somewhere in the thread (perhaps by searching "full save" or some such).

Other than that, the only other solution is to throw your electronic entertainment device out of the nearest domicile viewing port.
