I remember playing this game ages ago, the gameplay was simple, there's a minimap on the side and you click on it to move around and find random encounters where enemies just appeared on the screen. You "attacked" enemies by clicking on them and if you clicked on their weakpoint (the crotch or something depending on the enemy) you dealt more damage.
Definitely took place in a forest and i think it had some cutscenes involving a companion you could find?
I think the storyline had something to do with some sort of local deity
