Seeking Searching for Completed Ren'Py 3DCG Story-Driven games

Hey there good folks on F95zone community,

I seem to have run into a dilemma now that I have been enjoying VN's for some time. As of late, I feel that I have begun to run out of good games to play. I tend to seek VN's/games based on the following criteria:

- COMPLETED projects, however, I may be open to trying abandoned projects as I have already begun to do so.

- Story-driven. I prefer something that has a good story.

- 3DCG. Honey Select rendered models are also welcome.

- Ren'Py. I'm just comfortable with this format, as it allows the player to go back should he/she feel the need to do so.

- No crazy kinks. I will happily play a game that features vanilla sex over something with unavoidable kinks. Although, I have played games that have kink themes, regardless of whether I found them enjoyable or not.

- No big-tits galore. I personally prefer small boobs. I can appreciate game that include a couple of romantic interests who have big breasts among many LI choices, but I really prefer ones that have female leads that aren't all that well-endowed in the chest department.

- Slow progression is welcome. I prefer long gameplay (a couple days minimum) over something that ends in a matter of two hours.

I finished playing Mist recently. I enjoyed the sandbox element and the general storyline, but some of the sex scenes were a bit too much for my liking, and thus I found myself skipping those fast. I actually have been playing Triangle, but I typically play it when I really want to chill. In fact, A Knight's Tale had the same effect. I welcome that, because that's what you need sometimes.

I haven't tried the other ones, though, I have heard of them. I should give them a go! In fact, I guess it's time I went back and played some Daniels K stuff again. Been a little while since I last had the "Daniels K Experience", haha.

I was considering Sorcerer because I really enjoyed the first Terminus Reach. But I kind of took a break from games/VN's that didn't have sound as I enjoy listening as well as reading. But this one is definitely on the list of to-be-played games, so good suggestion there.

I've been taking my time with Sorcerer and A Petal Among Thorns. I've actually finished Sorcerer once already, but I'm playing it again to try a different path. APAT, I don't want to rush through because its final(?) sequel hasn't even been released yet. The Visit I've started playing, but have been having a very difficult time getting into, to be completely honest. I see the animation is pretty nicely done, though. The suggestion was appreciated all the same!

Haley's Story, I started playing months ago but still haven't finished. I had a very hard time finding some of the characters likeable, but with time and patience, things started to improve. I enjoy it a lot more now than I did back in July when I began playing it. So this one and Sorcerer are the two I've been focusing on lately, because I'm taking a break from APAT despite my wish to keep playing it, lol.

It's not Renpy, but a Renpy-like UI built on Unity (similar UI design, hotkeys, rollback is kinda there, it returns you to start of the conversation). It fits your other requirements, though, and is one of the better games around here.

Thank you for the suggestions! I was actually wondering about Love of Magic since it was promoted in Sorcerer. I really ought to try getting into Unity, I know. One of the previous suggestions (Mystwood Manor) was also using Unity, and I've actually gone so far as to downloading the game, but haven't yet to install it.

Yes, I sometimes check that thread as well for anything that I may have missed. It has been very helpful in the past at any rate.

I'd recommend adding Eternum to your list and playing it once it's completed (if you only want completed ones).

It's by the same developer of Once in a Lifetime, with much higher quality renders, and a superb story so far. It's still in development, but already has many hours of story in its current state.

It has been quite a long time since I last updated this thread, as I had become rather busy with my life in the past several months. I have since somewhat returned to playing AVNs again on a slightly more regular basis, but at the moment I'm actually more "waiting for certain games to be completed" than "looking for something new to play," to be honest.

The following are the VNs that I have started playing, and/or have finished playing since my last update:

- My New Family
- Sunshine Love
- Elsa's Nightmares
- Elsaverse Transitions

All of the above I enjoyed very much. In the case of My New Family, I still haven't finished playing it but I've been prolonging the experience by purposely playing it slowly. I've been doing the same with A Petal Among Thorns as well.

I just saw that a new game, Bare Witness, looks rather interesting, so I'm thinking of giving that one a try next. I love the Elsaverse, and pretty much played the Omnibus vol.1 and read the short stories and the novella back to back in one go, and then proceeded to play the two short follow-up VNs, so I feel like it would be a good time to take a little bit of break from that now, before getting back into it with Chasing Beth.

I do feel like this year has been passing by quite fast so far and, especially with my own literary project taking up much of my free time, I'm sure the games such as Eternum and Over the Moon will be completed before I know it. Such was the case with Sunshine Love after all, lol.

In the meantime, for those of you who are seeking games to play, feel free to use "my favourites" list in my original post as a guide for you if you're interested in similar types of games as I am.

It's been well over two months since my last post, so I feel like another update is in order.

Okay okay, I can already hear some of you saying you don't give a shtako, LOL.

As I had said in the last post above, I did end up playing Bare Witness. So, starting with that, the following are the games I have played, and I ended up playing a lot because I actually injured my foot last month and my work hours had to be cut way back because of that. In fact, I'm still recovering from it. At any rate...
