Searching for easy to use game engine to build a sidescrolling game

I want to try to build a sidescrolling game. Can anyone recommend to me what is the easiest (based on your experience) game engine. RPGM probably is not suitable, so I was thinking of :
- Godot
- Unity
- other suggestion?

I haven't used godot, but my understanding is this is a perfect project for it.

but also side scrollers are so simple I would almost suggest coding it from scratch. even if you don't know much programming it would be a great motivating (big) project to learn a programming language by doing. I mean there must be tons of videos like 'make your own side scroller' on youtube. depends on what your goal is here, 'showing some titties' vs 'learning to make games'.

There are full tutorials for these two for sidescroller games, from start to finish. So, yeah, these two are good.
