That's half-true, I'd say. The MC is definitely referred to as a woman from Antlers and Synthia and basically all/most other work-related NPCs, but in the run I did where he never came out as anything other than a femboy people outside of work still referred to him as a man (people like Bob, Alex, the swole bros).
But the name change is absolutely unavoidable. I did a bit of a cheesy thing and just changed the name to "James" though lol.

Edit: Kurt too. He still uses the nickname "Chica" but other than that he calls the MC his boyfriend and everything.

I've tried Wasteland Lewdness and Shattered before. Enjoyed Shattered but it didn't really do anything for me sexually at some point since the MC transitions fully into a woman and isn't just a femboy, but I like the beginning of it. Wasteland Lewdness is more of an... idk, last time I played it was def a while ago, so it might've changed a fair amount at this point.
I actually prefer it if the MC chooses to explore a more feminine style himself, that's why my regular playstyle of this game is voluntary on most things (other than hormones, name change and coming out) but I have yet to actually see a game like that (especially if it leads to the MC still being a man, but just a very femme one).

On a more personal note: I enjoy being more traditionally masculine (at least regarding body hair and overall presentation), so exploring stuff like being a femboy is more of a digital-only thing for me (which is why free choice and still being male is important to me in these games). I've worn skirts for costumes and stuff before but just know that people would think it's weird in a casual context since I'm very obviously male and don't try to appear as anything other than that.

In many games it is a player decision how far they go on the M2F-route, if they just crossdress, grow boobs or magically turn into a female ... but there are also a lot of other, newer games where the mc is railroaded into sissification, femdom, BBC, ...

Check the tags of a game, read the summary and reviews, try it out ...

Yeah, pick up her lunch from the canteen, then before delivering it in the office go to the inventory to interfere with it.

There are a few variants for the outcome, but I don't remember the specific conditions off-hand.

May be a matter of paths then. I haven't played the voluntary-ish paths since much earlier versions of the game, but on my attempted resistance playthrough the change to gender identity was forced in one of the therapy sessions with no way that I could find to steer around it. And the game then assumed that the MC chose to identify as a woman from then on.

But I haven't looked at that section recently, so may have missed something.

If you're willing to have the MC do sex work, the glory hole at the bar (unlocked by going there with Bob on Friday night) is an easy source of early-game spending money.

If not, you have to pinch the pennies early on: Once the poker game at the Thursday night office party becomes available, money ceases to be a concern.
