This is.... not good. I'm not even sure where to begin, honestly - so many red flags, in such a short (~20 minutes or so) game. Let's just start, in no particular order.
- Text coloring: white text, overlaid on top of a white tile floor. Thank goodness the dev's writing is so poor, or it would be really frustrating trying to figure out what the hell is being said. Since the story is nonsense, though, this could actually be considered a positive thing.
- Mini-game: Can't skip it, can't fail it. A must-pass, horrendously difficult minigame that has no relevance to the story or any importance. Just.... like a gate-keeping exercise, to see how much you'll tolerate to find out what happens next in a really bad story. (Turns out i have more patience than I thought)
- Sandbox: Making a sandbox can be done well. It's definitely HARD to do a good job at it, though, and the dev falls short of this by a country mile. The 'sandbox' has a single option ( a bar) where the MC goes. There is the option to talk to a random stranger - I chose not to - or click 'Pass the Time'. It turns out, though, that this bar is ACTUALLY outside of the space-time continuum, as I 'passed the time' about 75 times with no change. In other words, you have to talk to the random strangers. Oh, okay. So..... what's the point of 'pass the time'?
- Zero interactivity: Multiple times, you are presented with a text bar on screen that requires you to click to continue. For example, at the bottom it will say "What should I do next?" with a 'choice' of HAVE SOME COFFEE. Nothing else. No other option. Then why the hell is there even a choice? Or, "Do you want to surf?" Well, actually, i DON'T want to surf, but you only offer a selection of "YES", so i guess i'll have to tolerate it.
This was awful. Genuinely awful.
