Over the last 5 years, I've watched as many creators came and went, of which many turned into scammers and abandoners. There are very few that are actually genuine and making solid content. This doesn't sit well with me and hence I am looking to start my own studio. It's not that I have a specific storyline I'm passionate about, I'm more passionate about making an amazing PORN game with a proper balance of story and sexual content.
To that end, I am looking for 3 artists, to begin with. I have the basis of the story for the first game. It will be a straight and simple VN on ren'py. The choice-based system with multiple paths is very complicated and has the potential for numerous game-breaking bugs. Another reason for a simple VN is that people want to see all the scenes eventually, and the paths are just a waste of time and would only contribute to making each update seem small.
This first game will help the members get to know each other better for when we move on to more ambitious projects.

Why 3+ artists? to be able to push out content on a regular basis. The math is simple, if each artist is able to create 10-15 images per day for 20 days a month it adds up to 600-900 images (more with stronger rigs or more artists). This will reduce the burden on each artist but at the same time enable the team to create more content at regular intervals.

The revenue will be split 40-60 with each artist getting 20%. Since the artists will bear the initial expenses for creating the world, I offer to forgo 2 months of my pay at any 2 months of your choice in the first year. I take 40% because when we expand (not if, it is an eventuality) I will pay the new members from my share and not touch your shares unless you wish to do so.

It would be great if any skilled artist(s) would like to join, but I'm ok as long as you can improve and have a decent enough rig.
The game will have a decent amount of complex and difficult poses, this is non-negotiable. But, if you're not able to do this but still want to join, your share will be adjusted accordingly and you can create what you're comfortable with. Eventually, if you find yourself confident enough to attempt these complex poses we can re-negotiate your share.
The most important thing is that you need to have the fortitude to stay for the long run. I can tell you now, none of it will be easy or simple, especially the beginning, so you need to be prepared for the same and might have to sacrifice a lot. I know this is a big ask, but it will pay off in the end.

Since we will not be opening the patreon page until we have the first update ready in hand for release, we will be tight on cash and won't have much of an income in the beginning. Please do not expect to make much until we have dropped at least 2-3 updates.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE OR HOW WE START, THE END PRODUCT CANNOT AND WILL NOT BE MEDIOCRE!

If you're interested or have any questions feel free to reply to this post or dm me or mail me @ shanron22@gmail.com and we can discuss further.

Hi. I'm just curoius about your math. 10-15 images per day. You probably mean using something like daz 3d? With predefined characters and accessories. Even with that those accessories and characters must be bought or you think of using pirate content?

depends on quality hes looking for but i guess he wants best. i think this is too ambitious. like artist share is too low. 0 income at beginning 10-15 renders per day for 20 days. thats more than fulltime job. im not event talking about render synchronization to use same stuff and be similar looking with equal quality between 3 artists. but who knows :p

Sorry for not responding sooner. But for some reason I didn't get any notifications, so I thought no one responded.

Hi. I'm just curoius about your math.
Yeah sorry for not being specific, that was post world creation numbers. And regarding the characters and accessories, I don't know how best to proceed. But yeah, most likely the artists will have to front the costs. For which I am willing to pay back 3 fold, provided we cross 3 updates. So we can't half-ass any of the characters.

On top of that u get only
Well, I'm not aiming for 100-200 patreons or 1000-2000$ a month. like I said, the beginning will be tough, but I don't see us peaking at 10,000$ a month. Even then, it's 2K for 20%. Also, i didn't mention it earlier, I will be pitching in for upgrades any artists do in the future.
This pilot game is built from a business point of view, not that same old passionate about a story crap. I know what the demand is, and I also know how hard it is to meet those expectations, and what is needed. So I expect to be up there among the top adult game creators within a few years. else I'd consider this venture a failure.
Or If you're an artist that can make 600-800 renders a month without burning out in a few months, and you can continue to improve on that output non-stop for 2-3 years, then you can take 80%.

depends on quality hes looking for
True, I agree it's too ambitious. It's too risky, and there are 10000s of reasons you can think of to not do this.
But who knows, maybe I'm not just dreaming stuff. maybe it is actually possible and feasible. Just that the burden will be a bit high in the beginning.
and yeah, I need a high level of CG. not the best, but pretty damn attractive.

See, I can't build the hype around the game. I can give a story and build the excitement so that people stay or recommend it to others, but 90% of the initial supporters will join based off the CG. so if that beginning is not good, we will have a lot of work to do to gain peoples attention.

The idea is simple, even in this massive and diverse porn industry, that sees some or the other type of content get created every day, there are few extremely popular sections, and I have built the story based on facts like these.
Some other facts are, even the best CG doesn't work well without a good story to support it. And most good stories do not possess the visuals to support it. The few that do are among the top. It's mostly, tell and don't show. or just show show show show. Why do you think mangas and manhwas and any sort of comics are popular even when such beautiful, sexy ladies get naked and let others do unspeakable things to them.

Look at uberpie, astaros3d, runey, ttll. Look at the quality and quantity of their CGs. then the story. finally, look at each's patreon numbers. Spoiler alert, the two high-quality 3dCG games combined have lesser supporters than the lower-ranked of the other two.

I know it's a big ask, I know it's difficult. but I know it'll all be worth it in the long run.

Oh yeah, before I forget, the first game will not have animations to begin with. All resources will be used to create images so that each update can be longer. The animations will be added later based on the support we receive. But until then I intend to use stop-motions (not broken animations) with 3-5 images rather than animations.

so let me get this straight:
you expect the artist to pay for all the models/enviroments upfront, work fulltime for a few months with no gainings, so that IF the game becomes popular he can get 20%?
i think you are going to have a really hard time finding one (or three), specially one that has experience and can do good renders and poses.
A good step would be showing your skills, share some of your writing/coding or a part of the story, maybe this way u find someone thats reaaaally passionate.
in any case, gl

so let me get this straight:
yes, i do. not blindly though. none of the artists are gonna make random stuff and just hand it to me. everything created will be after a conversation.
the first game, like i said, is mostly for the members to gel together and understand each other's work and requirements and all that kinda stuff. But of course without compromising on the quality of the updates. else we won't make money, period!

I am looking for partners if it isn't clear to you. If I were to pay for all the assets and a salary to the artists, what stake would they have in this studio? where's the guarantee they won't quit midway? they literally won't have anything to lose.

I'm not asking anyone to join me without any questions. Ask, then decide if you wanna join and you always have the option to say no.

See, I am not some great writer or coder, what i do know is business. i know the porn industry is massive and i know there are a lot of opportunities to make money here. and that's my approach.

So if you're asking me for a fleshed-out script, i'm sorry, but i don't have one. What i have is a basic structure and direction for a game, and will add or remove things that i believe will be best suited to earn the maximum.

I've seen enough "passionate" creators pouring their heart and soul into making something they believe is
amazing and unique and just fail miserably and quit because not many people relate to it or don't find it interesting.

See, even if this doesn't work out for me, I will move on to something else, because i look for opportunities to earn money, and there are ample opportunities in this world.
It's just that porn industry is massive and will continue to have massive demand, so there is a huge potential to earn a significant income from it.
Every girl with a half-decent ass or boobs has an onlyfans acc now-a-days.
That's how easy it is to earn from it, provided you have the right tools and can hit the right notes that the fans will like.

yeah thats clear, the thing is the artist pays and works fulltime, so he loses time and money, what do you lose exactly?
whats the guarantee that you wont leave halfway when they already bough assets and worked on the project?

It was just a suggestion to gather interest for your project, take it or leave it
good day sir

They made a South Park episode about you and your business plan:

I do hope this is a joke thread. If not: stop fantasizing and get a job.

I see so many problems with this plan. I'll name them off, and I'm sure I'm missing many.

1) Starting out by blindly accusing many developers of being scammers, and abandoning games, but then at the same time wanting to recruit not 1, but 3 render artists? It comes off as if a man is saying, "Many couples wind up cheating on each other, or breaking up. Now give me 3 women." Not the best opening line tossing shade, and not the best way to win the room.

2) You say you only want 3 artists "to begin with", and hint at expanding things. If you have 3 daz artists working on a project then that is 2 more than most games have.

3) Different artists have different styles. Getting 3 or more artists to make the same thing of same quality is very difficult. This will eat away at consistency.

4) You act as if you are going punish artists who are not able to make a decent amount of complex and difficult poses.

5) Artists need to know what to render. You can't just be like "Make 15 images today" of what? If you have a specific scene in mind you need to be able to write down exactly what you want the render to look like in descriptive language. This includes the characters, the set, the poses, the props and so on.

6) Who is doing all of the coding, writing, and photoshop? 900 renders a month? That is a lot of photoshop, and unless you want all random images that's a lot of writing.

7) You have apparently no experience in game development, and are pretty unknown. I would have a very difficult time putting together what you are trying to put together, and I'm experienced, and somewhat known. I know how to code, and write, and photoshop. Writing / coding 600-900 renders a month would be far more work than you realize especially when dealing with 3 separate artists delegating things around.

I'd highly suggest starting out smaller and trying to work your way up. Try finding 1 artist to team up with.

So what stake do you have in the studio? Except for taking the 40% while everyone one else is working there asses off.
Sound more like you have nothing to lose if someone falls for this :p
Reminds me a lot of another project I worked on that wanted 600 renders a month,, but had no money to pay for the work.

10-15 a day?!
You do realize that artists do not conjure a scene out of nowhere, right?
From what I gained by just reading what some talented artists said from time to time, making a scene can take up to 3-5 hours.

Why would someone spend that much time, by paying from their own pocket, only for a promise of a 20% cut?
Ren'Py is so ridiculously easy that the artist would be better off watching a 10 minutes tutorial and do the game by himself.
If writing is challenging, he may as well hire a writer... even by giving him half of the revenue he would still make more than a 20% share x).

Do not even let me get started on the mess of handling 3 different artists, with different skillset and assets... Oof.

Yeah another dude that was playing porn games for too long and decided that he knows how to do it properly. This always ends up with a really bad game. Do you even have a good pc? You kept saying others have to have a good rig, but you dint say what you have or have any skills at all.

On a similar note I'm looking for 5 highly skilled basketball players.

I know a lot of NBA players get cut from the teams, and a lot of NBA players wind up cheating on their wives or getting addicted to drugs or becoming snowflakes like Lebron James caring more about social justice than basketball. A guy like that wouldn't make the cut on my team. I need good hard working players that can forget all that stuff so that we can focus on the game itself and it's fundamentals. My plan is to put the ball in the hole more than the other team.

I'm going to be the coach and we split everything 50/50. Players get 1/2 and the couching staff gets the other 1/2. I need players who know how to put the ball in the hole. I'm going to be writing all of the plays I need good hard working players that are team players. If you can't shoot 3's and are more of a slam dunk artist I understand. We need people who can shoot 3s. If you can't hit the 3s we are going to have to adjust your pay a little bit until you can figure that out.

I am the best couch ever, and I am going to make all of my players millionaires. I just need players who can execute my two simple instructions. and win us championship games.

1) Put the ball in the hole or pass the ball to someone else who can put the ball in the hole.

2) Block the other team from putting the ball in the hole and quickly rebound the ball or steal the ball if possible.

The most retarded thing that I see here is that you ask for a really good artist because the CG attract ppl to donate you money. But then again you say that you are not going for that passionate storytelling thing and the CG is more important than the script and the story. But you take a huge percent of the share while the artist whose job in your opinion is the main thing that makes the money, but they get 20 percent? :DDD. Even if there is going to be a miracle that you will somehow find 3 really good artists and you will make lots of money your project faith will be the same as breeding season. The artist will leave because they can make their own game and have everything they need to do it.

You are saying that it's going to be hard few month before you earn something? Who is going to pay for the electricity bills of the artist? Its just not worth it.

You are approaching this thing from a big company view. This works only if you give them something to start working with. Like there is definitely some talent in regions that poverty is really high, they know how to use lighting, make scenes, and animate but don't have the rig to do it. And if you offer them rig and 20 % share they will definitely work for you. But now you just offer your punishment for bad-looking CG. You sound greedy too.

My advice is to stop acting like a corporation, you just don't have anything to offer for the artist to work like that for free.
And usually, passion is the thing that makes people donate to you. And there are games that have really outdated CG but get 16k per month just because of the story. Do more research.

Why 3+ writers? to be able to push out content on a regular basis. The math is simple, if each writer is able to write 10-15 pages per day for 20 days a month it adds up to 600-900 pages (more with stronger pens or more writers). This will reduce the burden on each writer but at the same time enable the team to create more content at regular intervals.

sorry idk why but this was very funny :D

All jokes aside I'm curious to see your marketing plan. I'm a 3D artist with about 7 years of experience in games, animation, and rendering. 10-15 images a day is easy for me so I can commit to such a project as a partner granted the proposal is legitimate.
