VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Shades of the Past [v0.6] [Booty Call Studios]

Really enjoyed this one. The mystery aspect pulled me in fast, and damn… the aunt is hot as fuck. Every scene with her just hits right. I’m a little worried about where the mother angle is going, but honestly that just adds more tension and curiosity, which I like.


The animations are really good and smooth, definitely above average. There aren’t a lot of choices, but weirdly that didn’t bother me at all. It actually feels like the developer already knows what I would’ve picked anyway — and yeah, he’s right . The pacing and direction just work.


Overall, I loved the game. It feels confident, stylish, and intriguing, and it leaves you wanting more in a good way. Please give us more updates soon, and honestly, keep making games like this — you’re clearly onto something good here.

Pretty good art and character designs. Lighting in some scenes is a bit too dark but not totally unreadable. Dialogue feels like it needs a second pass but is overall pretty alright. Definitely not the worst game, but there are better. Overall though I feel it gets a bad rap. 3/5

Completely deformed older models, they look closer to buffalo than people. Completely Inhuman. Only the sister looks human and she still has a weird face in most renders.

Awful UI customization and character naming that zero thought went into.

Unrealistic writing full of errors. The sister immediately rushes to tell people she fancies her brother and she walks around in underwear with the straps off

She desperately throws herself at him the every second of the day after they have only just met (as do the buffalos). It means the mc is just an wimpy sub

The first thing i question is why bother with the orphanage back story?, the MC isn't mad about it as there is apparently no one to blame and it hasn't changed the way MC views his family, there is literally nothing that couldn't have been explained without it.

The text obviously needs work but if the creator is not english then you should just be thankful it is even badly translated and I'm sure going forward it will get better.

The art is good for a first game, story wise there is not much to say as the current content is still short.

Overall its an ok start and as it develops I'm sure the quality will improve.

Pretty bad overall.

Character models and textures are terrible, all faces look very dated.

Story isn't anything to write home about, you have seen it before and it's very basic.

The writing is the worst part of the game. It incoherent at best and straight out shit at worst. The language use is so bad it's almost funny. The vocabulary use is tiny and it's pretty clear that the writer can't grasp basic English grammar.

At least it's short. (so far)

(Review of v0.2)

The storyline is perfectly forgettable and the writing itself is bad enough that I started skipping almost from the beginning as it's clearly just an excuse to fill in the blanks. The models aren't exactly great, in fact some renders show a deformed body. I'm all for believable, everyday characters instead of seeing top models the whole time, but these come out as vulgar and not exactly erotic except for the forced poses to show pussies and panties at every occasion, which again make them look vulgar.

Not exactly a good start.
