Hey guys,
Just a short post. (I know, I'm on a roll).
I've been experimenting a bit with AI animations. The biggest issue I see in other games, was that it either changed the style, or that the movement was so fluid that it felt like it didn't belong in the game. The other big issue was that those animations weren't looping properly, which breaks immersion.
I've been trying to solve those issues myself, trying a lot of different workflows and experimenting with it (I spent so much time on this, I kinda regret it).
This is a final result I'm quite happy with, it loops perfectly and the movement feels like it belongs in the game and it doesn't change the style. (There's still minor artifacts, however I'm not sure they're THAT noticeable.) Obviously, I only want to add things that improve the quality and experience of the game, if it doesn't achieve that, I won't add it.
I wouldn't use these a lot and definitely not in scenes that require complex animation such as the NSFW scenes. However in certain cases, like close-ups, I feel like it could increase the quality of the game. What do you guys think?
