RPGM - Ren'Py - Shadows of Desire [v0.8] [Shamantr]

The amount of content in this game is insane. There are three possible story paths to experience, and each of them has entirely unique content, locations characters, stories, mini games and ofc scenes. This is rare. It's literally like three different games set in the same universe. I honestly don't know if I've ever seen anything like that before.

I personally liked the pace of the first half of the game the most. The second half had a mix of good pacing but also fetch quest type content which is less appealing. Often in renpy games I kinda zone out and speed through dialogs, but slow down a bit more and get into the pace with rpgm. Maybe that's why I liked the first half more.

There are also times where it's unclear if a side story was just dropped or if I had to do something to trigger it. For instance, the whole day job thing is introduced and then dropped. Also, when do you give her the bunny outfit? And what about the photographer guy?

Given how far along the content is, I think it may almost be complete, but honestly is pretty good even as it stands in terms of completeness.

Is this a comedy game? I played until the first blowjob and the faces were so funny I just couldn't help but laugh lol. The weirdest faces ever on both the black dude and the girl while it just keeps panning the camera to one weird face after another I couldn't help but start laughing. It's a really boring game otherwise.

Gameplay's dogshit and gets in the way, but the cheating path has got some pretty hot moments until like ch6.
Newest chapter and all other paths are garbage though - more shit gameplay, ALL writing sucks, graphics and animations got laughably bad. I'm into BNWO and I couldn't even get hard to that crap, it's that bad.

This must be the most inconsistent NTR shitfest I've ever played, reaching from very bad to really good in its quality on multiple occasions.

The chaos starts with the enginge: u either have to play the first chapters as RPGM or opt to install one of the (multiple?) RenPy Remakes of the first chapters available on this site. Those come without the obvious downsides of RPGM games, but bring other flaws like missing sound/audio. In any case, after u make it through this first challenge (u also could just give a shit and skip the first chapters, starting with the later Renpy chapters here all along), u finally land in the current wip-live version of "Shadows of Desire".

But how is the whole thing executed? As a first disclosure: If u have a general problem with NTR or the more specific premise: "black alpha male steals white beta's girlfriend"- don't play the game.

The main trope- your girlfriend cheats on you, cuckolds you or gets blackmailed (3 paths available) by/with a black bull is basically excellent. Camila is extremely hot and, within limitations of porn logic, is written and developed okayish. If the game would just focus on that, it might be a clear 5/5. But the game SPAMS you to oblivion with unnecessary sidecharacters. U will propaply lose track of who the fuck this girl or mom was. Your mom, sister, stepmother, girlfriend, stepmother on your father's side, step-sister on your degenerated mothers-aunt-side, your best friends girlfriend and their best female friends...all of those and more (yes, I exaggerated a little) basically get some BBC action aswell. Game is COMPLETELY over the fucking top with it and you most likely will start to be annoyed by constantly being drawn into side plots.

Then there is more flaws:
- General writing quality is often meh. Both formally and in terms of content. Not always though, I found the micrrowriting of the lewd scenes with Camila really good most of the time. (And this is something a lot of porn games completely fail in- long enough h-scenes with accordingly exectued microwriting).
- There is a lot of racism in the game. And no, not the "mimimi im a SJW and find the idea of black man stealing white GF in NTR porn games racist itself"-racism, but blatant N-word-dropping etc. I personally find this completelly unnecessary and disgusting.
- Quality is just inconsistent. Generally the game improves qualitywise the deeper you're in. You start with a very basic RPGM/silent RenPy-Game and later on you get pretty solid CGs, animations and audio support. But even in later segments of the game you will have parts which stand out or fall off.
- There is some unnecessary open-worldish sections in the game in which you will partly try to figure out what the hell to do and where the fuck to go.
- U basically decide for one of the 3 main routes, and then this was it with decisions. Not only can u not really influence the outcome of the game from there onwards (for the most part), u can also mostly not skip side-content you don't want (like the legions of additional girls) or specific kinks. I personally would have really liked to be able to skip the blatant and cruel rape-content for example.
- Audio. Game could make use of more lewd sounds (there are some, but just not enough) and especially needs to fix the volume mix of its audio files, especially in h-scenes. Lot of the times the lewdsounds are too quiet and hardly hearable, even if u play with 100%, music off and your pc volume turned up quite high.

It is almost absurd how many flaws and downsides "Shadows of Desire" brings, but still propaply is one of the better NTR games out there. Cause there is also just so much GOOD stuff of a surprising and unusual quality. Did I mention the high quality of the main trope and the microwriting? But there is more: there is actual voicing of Camila in later segments of the game, which fits in really well (for the most part exclusively in h-scenes).

At the end of the day: if your into (BBC-)NTR, you should play this. You will almost certainly be annoyed from this game from time to time or feel like just wasting your time, but you will also have a lot of hot moments and opportunities to squeeze one out.

This game is insanely well done for what it offers. Cami is one of the hottest FMCs I’ve ever seen, and she’s the shining star of the game. Watching her get corrupted, slowly craving black cock, and falling into cucking and cheating scenarios is incredibly hot to play through. The scenes are well directed, the various situations are intense, and every outfit she wears highlights her amazing model (best ass since HeartProblems, imo)

Cons
Updates & Replayability:
The way updates and saves are handled hurts replayability. If you don’t carefully track which path your save is on, playing new content becomes confusing. Often it’s easier to start over, which can be frustrating. Having a consistent gallery for all paths would help as well.

Animations:
Some of the sex animations, especially penetration, feel stiff and janky. Not a huge deal, but definitely an area that could be improved.

Story & Path Confusion:
The story can get convoluted at times, especially when juggling multiple routes. Cami’s descent, while hot, might feel a little too fast or easy for fans of slow-burn corruption and NTR.

Side Characters: (my opinion)
There are too many side characters taking screen time away from Cami. While some fans enjoy them, the game would be stronger focusing more on her and a smaller core cast.

In conclusion, it’s a hot game with an insanely hot FMC, but the replayability issues hold it back. Still, it has immense potential, and I’m very interested to see what future updates bring.

I honestly just got bored with this one. Only finished 1.5 paths. The renders are ok-ish, lots of really weird/over exaggerated faces. The animations are just short loops that are maintained for way too long. The dialogue has some kind of weird delay effect that makes it difficult to click through, WAY worse on the RPGM version since you can't roll back.

As for the story, its really weird, it comes at you like a normal porn story but for some reason the dev wanted to have the racism thing be a plot point so it feels kinda like they just dropped some lines in to cover that but they don't really fit. And be prepared because there are some hard Rs in there.

I'm not really sure what the devs goal was, but I don't feel like they're achieving it. The move to ren'py was definitely an upgrade, but I feel like they need to work more on the storytelling/grammar/animation quality and just kind of everything. And definitely lay off the racist crap, you're not even using it in a believable way, its just awkward and no contributing to the story in any meaningful way.

Hot girls and excellent NTR content but, I’d say some of the side content is even hotter than the main girl . Overall fun and arousing experience but….why am I playing a racist twink? Is this like when horror movies make the victims so insufferable that you want to see them get their fate?

This one’s tricky to rate because, when I think of legendary NTR games, this will definitely come to mind. It had so much potential and even started strong. Cami is absolutely gorgeous, and the character models look great. The concept is solid. The animations aren’t top-tier, but they’re serviceable. What really drags this down is the writing—it’s painfully cringe.

Like so many others, it spirals into being way too over the top. What could’ve been a simple, well-executed story about an interracial bully cucking a scrawny kid with his beautiful, thick girlfriend turns into a chaotic mess with gang drama, multiple routes, and way too many side characters you can’t care about. Some scenes are so absurd they break immersion completely, even by porn logic.

The writing now feels straight out of a “zoomer parody” of what adult game dialogue should sound like. It’s corny, awkward, and tries far too hard. I honestly gave up trying to take it seriously halfway through.

Gameplay-wise, it’s tedious and repetitive. Too many characters, too many routes, not enough payoff. Moving around the map is a nightmare. I don’t even bother playing it anymore—I just watch the Cami route videos on online when updates drop. Even that’s gone downhill.

At this point, the only redeeming thing left is Cami herself—her model is great, and the animations are fine. Everything else ranges from mediocre to outright bad. It’s a shame, because this could have been one of the greats. Cami is hot, but that’s really the only reason to stick around.

The models and animations are pretty good but that's about it.
The sandbox is watching certain scenes in any order then you can progress, the corruption is the most unrealistic I've seen in any of these games. Pure innocent virgin to mega slut in a couple of days. The characters are annoying and made it hard to read the dialog and overall was just an annoying experience for something that could have massive potential.

I just wanna fap yet I have to click on a lot of buttons. Could improve. Hope it gets a major remake because I love Cami and Fred's relationship. And it could also be better if the route that we are taking are also included with the choices.

the game has only one positive thing, the graphics, then everything else is of very poor quality, to date this VN is a hymn to BBC NTR,, with a description on a white MC to the point of exaggeration, it has become practically repetitive, now it no longer gives any hint of novelty, it has become flat as a story and monotonous, it has lost all its initial mystery, now it is only sex scenes, nothing more, the story, too simple to be able to attract a player in the long run, it would be more ideal to give an ending.

Why do you rate it as 1 star then?
It's unplayable.

Even with the transition to Renpy it remains unplayable.
You will have to press as much buttons as you do in RPGM games, and it gets annoying really fast, when you have to hit an additional Enter/Space/LMB after every single line of text.

And then you will also have to press additional direction buttons, when there are no variations of possible actions.

Honestly, I would have liked Doshima to remake the 5 and 6 chapters, like he did with Chapter 1-4.

He did a great work, and it is frustrating, that the original developer couldn't follow in his steps.

Well the best BBC NTR game I found. I know there are lot of flaws. Especially with the animation but story and character building is so good that I have to give it a 5 star as I feel it's the best in this genre.


All three paths are amazing and maybe that's the best decision by Shaman. And the flow of story is good as managing multiple storylines is not easy.

I started this game almost a year ago but now i have to make this review because this game as fallen so low, at the start this was my favorite because it was a simple game about a sexy girlfriend, her boyfriend and the bully.

Now its just an orgy of side character with more scene than the actual main girl Cami, every new update is wasted on side character and i thinks i know why, shaman has said on discord that his next projekt is something like the big brother show, a lot of character put together, i feels that Shaman want now to use Shadow of Desire only to train for the next game. Such a waste, if you want to start this because you like the look of the "main girl" just know that she will lose screen time to a lot of side character that are there just to fill the space and nothing more

I cannot recommend this because a porn game where the main girl is shadow banned its just sad to see. Unfortunate because i never saw a female character more sexy than Camila. If this review feels harsh is also because i put money on the game and i'm disappointed and kinda angry that it became like this.

All three routes are worth experiencing and honestly they might as well be stand alone experiences as there is barely any overlap in content.

Don't be intimidated by the first 4 parts being in RPGM, there is a Renpy remake on F95zone that you can go through pretty quickly to catch up.

Might be one of the best NTR games on the site with essentially 3 routes. Cheating (Oblivious NTR), Blackmail (Classic/Brutal NTR) and cuckold (Reluctant NTS) all three routes legitimately scratch a different itch and are worth experiencing as they are different subgenres,

I will never understand how I just don't notice games like this for so long.

After playing this game I can say for sure this is one of the best ntr games out there. Compared to generic ntr games, about half of the characters in this story have good information and 90% of characters have a sex scene.

Personally, there are three major positive aspects that really made me give this game five stars. First, character design and graphics, story progression, knows how to verbalize situations well.

PROS

For character design I doubt I have to say much. Regardless of whether everything else is bad, just the character design and graphics makes this game deserve 2 stars at the very least.

Story progression is good, not too slow or too fast. Some people may argue v0.6 cuckold route made Cami too hasty, but I disagree since at most it'll take one more version update to achieve the same state. Overlooking the fact that 0.5 basically was at the tipping point of Cami realizing Fred's a cuck.

Verbalization of the situation is a major positive aspect that makes this game greater than others. Shamantr, or whoever wrote the script, must be a veteran cuck since the way he convey's the story telling for the sex scenes is amazing. Regardless of the route, the word choice as well as sequence of events are impeccable (assuming you're into BBC otherwise this may vary).

CONS

First con is that the blackmail route (emphasis on this route) is not for people who aren't veteran ntr enjoyers (veteran cuck's don't count in this case) or individuals not into extreme scenarios (r*pe). Since this route specifically focuses on some controversial content.

Second, since this game is centered around BBC and NTR, having both together is obviously in the realm of raceplay so racism is expected. I wouldn't call this a con, but some individuals may disagree.

Third, the download file is way too big. Although I understand to get the quality pictures requires large file sizes up to 10 mb, chapters 1-4 takes 11 GB (iirc) and chapters 5-6 takes 14 GB. The former you only have to download once but the latter after each update you have to redownload which is quite a hassle considering the download limitations.

TLDR; This game is one of the top tier if not the best BBC NTR games ever made. Hours of content, three different routes, and hundreds of sexual scenes.

Game is amazing. Filled with a plethroa of exciting sex scenes which all include a erotic build-up and smooth animations, from gangbangs to casual bathroom/lockeroom sex. These scenes also occur through 3 different routes (cuck,blackmail and cheating), making sure the game is able to excite all types of hentai enjoyers. The main character is also absolutely beautiful, not excessively curvy, instead having a great balance of 'fit thick'. Only gripe I hold is that there is no dedicated/full gallery , making it a little slower but taskks to progress are highlighted/shown in most cases. Overall a 5/5 from me

Should be 2 stars, but the quality of the female 3D models is so good that it makes it 3 in my eyes.

To start, I don't know why RenPy developers on this site think it's cute to bloat their games with boring click-hell. The constant backtracking through the map/environment is not immersive and merely serves to stretch out the game artificially without adding anything to the experience. The biggest no-no is how the sex scenes suffer from this too, which is a shame since the animations and cgs are pretty well done. If the drudgery is this bad on Renpy I can only imagine it was worse in the RPGMaker version.

The plot is... alright for an NTR h-game I guess. It's not horrible for a gooner game considering the bar is set 100 feet below sea level. The inclusion of different types of NTR is a cool plus, but the perspective changes between the main character, female main character, and the antagonist weaken the tension since there's little mystery about what's happening. Even if you disregard that, there's little chemistry between the main couple so it's hard to feel any sense of conflict or tension for the main girl caught in between the protagonist and antagonist. This doesn't really feel like an NTR game at all, mostly just Netori or Netorase. And yes the distinction matters if you're into these kinds of games at all.

Shame really, I think there's a solid gooner VN somewhere in Shadows of Desire. Most of the problems have to do with its presentation and execution. I think changes that make the experience more streamlined and cohesive would go a long way, even if it comes at the cost of making the game shorter.
