Why I like the game

PROS:
+ Not 1238901823 characters so... it means the main ones receive a lot of attention!
+ Mom and Sister main characters
+ Very creative sex scenes and moments !!!
+ Especially the remade scenes are out of this world! The rest are amazing also
+ Different clothes, makes the game way more colorful and interesting.
+ I really like the body shapes of the characters I think for me they are the perfect balance between.... not bimbos...and definitely not skinny ( a bit more on the bimbo side...but I like it).
+ Some NTR (not a hardcore NTR fan, but I like it from time to time)

CONS:

- The story is not the strong side of the game
- Everything is happening at times insanely easy, and the convincing part is unrealistic to say the least (I mean it could be made a touch more natural and innovative)

Overall I enjoyed the strong parts of the game way too much to be honest ...

My suggestion for everyone is to try this game. It has good moments. I mean, some will find women in this game hot but honestly..way out of proportion and characters we already saw in many games.
Story is very plain and boring. Again, has some ideas from other games( like pheromone thing which I already saw somewhere...)
Choices in this game are also pretty bad. For instance you can visit either mom or sis, but later on it mention you visited other character!?! Really bad.
Also, no gameplay elements whatsoever... No stats screen, etc... Some really nice animations tho! Thats why 3 stars...
Like I said, pretty mediocre game with very bad story and likable characters if you can past their out of proportion bodies!(and I mean, waaay out of proportion!) . It has some hot moments, enough to satisfy your crave...

First off i want to say the updated game is a large improvement on the original so while its only 3 stars its 3 stars just for the updated content alone not including any old content.

The start is still a little vague on details but compared to the original it is much much better and more believable.

At the moment it more two separate stories, trying to get with "mom and sis" and the table memory thing, they have almost no interaction(MC could have injured his arm anytime and just lied about what the doctor said, both mom and sis needed almost no convincing anyway) and its the same for the side stories(while this is not a problem it does make you wonder why go to the trouble of making the mind changing story if you are not going to use it for a love or corruption route with the family/others).

When the characters have money problems they are not going to be thinking of buying new dresses especially for something like an aunt visit and definitely not quit a job without anything set up before hand.

A real debt collector(for a bank) will take your stuff not attack you, if its a real debt the law is on his side so MC would be forced to pay or risk losing the house but as soon as the guy threatens to kill you or your family there is no need to pay because even if you do pay what's to stop him from still threatening you or your family(its no longer about a debt), is MC going to pay forever now?, that whole scene makes no sense.

I would say all characters have been improved but you still you get little time to choose her(sis) or ntr(althrough for me it was a much easier choice this time).

The MC is much more relatable but still lacks any real character, he says at the start he thinks him mom and sis are attractive but apart from physically wanting them because they are hot he doesn't show any interest in love or even wanting to dominate them, the same goes for MC and the rest of the characters although at least now you can respect the MC he not a loser any more.

The art has been hugely improved and includes some very nice animations.

Sex scenes 3/5 (only rating for what's in the replaced content so far, so this is a higher score as there is less content at the moment)
Main story 3/5 (better explanations but not much in the current replaced content)

Art 5/5 (biggest improvement in the updated game)

Honestly there is very little that makes this game stand out(still true if it keeps on improving i could see that changing).

My wishlists
1- The mother and her sister, the main character of the game, especially the mother have a magnificent physique.
2-animations are not bad but can be tougher and more aggressive, especially for incest sex
3-The game does not bore the player in terms of gameplay
My expectations
1-There should be more characters on the mother and father side in the game
2-Milf characters should be full-breasted and big-assed like mother's character
3-Sex scenes should have more variety and ejaculation
4-necessarily have a pregnancy
5-actress should marry a mature woman or girl outside her family and add new relatives from her marriage
6-game must have interesting adventures and tasks that end with sex

EDIT: I tried to play this again, and I still feel my opinion is valid.
But my complaints, and my rating, is very subjective.
Ones own tastes and opinions are legitimate to for their own ratings score with, but they should be weighed against other criteria.
The game seems to be competently made. The animations are smooth. The models are beautiful.
My biggest problems are in the story itself, and that is something that others might not care about, or could over look, or even enjoy.

I am, somewhat begrudgingly, raising my rating from a 2 to a 3.
A rating of 2 or below should be limited to games that are truly bad... and it is unfair to lump this game in with that. But I simply can not see how the story could change enough to address any, let alone most, of my big issues.

I didn't play long, and I quit early. So, this might not be a fair assesment... but taking my experience, I read other reviews, and I feel I'm somewhat justified in how I see things.

Pros?
Despite some people complaining about the renders and animations, most I've seen look good. Emma, in particular, was very beautiful. Sarah is very appealing.

Story? It... has one... which frankly makes no sense without an incest patch. If your dad died, why are you so worried about supporting your roommate and landlord?
No. It's your mom and sister. Dad died, debt piled up, and you want to make money to get rid of that debt, allow your more talented sister the chance to be sure she can get through college, and see your mom smile. MC says he wants to see them happy.

Now, OBVIOUSLY the first things that happen in a game where you're struggling to make ends meet would be that your mother makes plans to go buy a dress (somehow, I doubt she means going to goodwill or Salvation army...), quitting your job without two weeks notice or having another job lined up...
And, OBVIOUSLY when your goal is to make your family happy an alleviate the melancholy remaining from your father's passing that still hangs over them, you do so by planning to get them to get you off, taking advantage of them while hoping the side effects of a medicine you're on do the trick, because. horror of horrors, you can't tolerate the thought of jerking it leftie for a few days....

Now, I get "mind controll" is a tag for a reason and some people want that, but I, personally, get nothing out of a plot that is "I was a good brother and son and love my family and want to help them, but now that I have MAGICAL PHEROMONE POWERZ!!! I can make them help me fulfill all my darkest fantasies!"
And I have to believe that someone could write a decent mind-control plot that could still appeal to a wider audience.

Oh, and playing a game where the MC is borderline retarded gets old. You can figure out how to incorporate exposition without making the protag a drooling idiot.

Someone else reviewed it saying something along the lines of "If you want a fap, come here. A story, go somewhere else."
There is endless porn. A fap is easy. I look for games like this because I am interested in a story... even if a simple, silly one.
But if you want a story? Despite, technically, having one... this game will leave you disappointed.

Look, the renders are nice, girls are pretty, and the choices seem to matter which means the creator took the effort to make branching paths. There is OBVIOUSLY talent behind this game.
And it's frustrating that, despite that... it sucks.

Try it. Hopefully you like it more than I did. But I won't be back.

Haven't played past episode 1 since the rest isn't remade, but it's gotten really good. This was a game I'd ignore when updates came out. Not anymore! I honestly don't think it was necessary to use the mind-bending plot or whatever it was for the doc to tell the mom to "help" the son.

The mom is incredibly sensual, and really drives the game forward. The choices feel impactful. I like it. Well done to the dev for improving his product.

I was very much in doubt as to whether I should give this 4 or 5 stars. I do think that 5 stars should be reserved for actual flawless games like Being A DIK or City Of Broken Dreamers games-that-shouldn't-be-named-due-to-f95-review-guidelines. This game is not flawless but it is very, very good. I ended up giving that extra star on my review for two reasons:
1. It's not really fair to compare Shut Up And Dance with games which have loads of patron money behind them. If you factor in the patron resources available to the devs, this game is easily in the upper echelon of games. Furthermore, with the recent bump in render quality they are now on par with other top tier games.
2. As a patron I can appreciate that the dev is very consistent with status updates as well as active on this forum.

Alright, now, for the actual review:

Renders (4.5/5): Specifically the renders of episode 1 and the latter half of episode 6.
The dev also has a keen eye for camera angles as well as facial expressions which make the game more compelling.

Models (4/5): The models, especially for the main MILF, is absolutely gorgeous. Be warned, her proportions borders on the ludicrous so if big bootay ain't yo thang this is the wrong game for you. Personally, I'd wish her proportions were sliiiiiiiiiightly more realistic, but it's a fine line and she definitely has one of the milfiest bodies in video game history.

Writing (3.8/5): Even with the recent remake the writing is still a little bit janky in places and a few conversations in game come across as slightly awkward. However, the original intent of those conversations come across just fine. The dev definitely knows how to write interesting scenes: teases, set-ups, exposition, cliffhangers and all that good stuff.
Characterization is good; characters - at least the main ones - have distinct personalities. There is a definite focus on the two main love interests which I think is a good thing. Far too many games introduce side characters en masse as a means of delaying the real reward of getting to the main love interests. This, thankfully, is not one of those games.

Plot (4/5): Despite the basic setup being a pretty overused trope the overall plot is "believable", intriguing, has had good pacing up until now and finds a way to make the setup feel fairly fresh and new.
There is a good amount of player choice and the choices have real impact in the scenes you see. With this being a corruption game, there is currently a love route and a corruption route for the main characters, which I again think is a good amount of distinct routes considering how many different scenes each update can contain.

Sound/music (4/5): It's fitting and - with the more recent releases - there's a good amount of variety.

Title (1/5): Shut Up and Dance is a terrible, terrible name for a great game .

In summary: This is my favourite game of the genre. The overall highest quality I've seen from a game here that still has that indie/solo dev feel. If you are into the tags definitely try it out, give a review and consider supporting the dev.

How did I not notice this game before today?

The reworked renders are really good and the characters are super hot.
Clothing and camera angles in this game are fantastic, the UI is pretty good and the new animations are better than what most other games have.

The story progresses pretty fast, which is pretty nice since the MILF is insanely hot, though the story part about the pheromones and the MCs powers felt a bit weak.

This game just keeps getting better every update. I think the rework of previous episodes is done now and was worth it, the new/updated scenes were amazing.

Boring Games shows that a game does not become boring after having sex with the main love interests and every update includes a ton of content. The difference between the Love/Corruption route is also very nice.

My only complaint about this game is that the MILFs proportions could be just a tiny bit less massive, it does look a bit weird occassionally.

Intriguing plot, sexy characters, and improved renders. While it touches upon certain storytelling cliches, it doesn't rely on them and defies them to create an unusual storyline. And damn, the MILF in this is drop-dead gorgeous.

Great VN game so far, story is pretty standard in this genre ("dad" died mysteriously, you have "special corruption powers" and "Mom & Sis" and all other female characters are easily corrupted into sluts).

BUT: The remake of the first chapters are excellent, GREAT visuals, and the Dev has an eye for angles in his animations, some humor, the pace of sex is different between scenes which makes it feel more authentic. One scene is porn-like, next is soft & tender. etc AND the corruption is fun.

Plus it starts relatively soon so there is no endless grind to get to the good stuff.

Rendering and Animations weren't particularly good at the Beginning of the Game, but that has improved a lot. Now it's a really good Game.

I've been thinking a lot about what score I can possibly give this game, since it's not so straightforward for me. I keep ranting and raving about how story doesn't count, all I want is to stick the MC's dick in his mom's bumhole.

So why am I giving this game 2 stars? The porn is amazing, the friends mom is so hot, I actually came 3 times to the same scene; I could not progress the story because I was busy splurging all over the place. In almost all instances, that would be an instant 5 stars for me. But ...

I can handle an MC who has magic powers and sticks his cock in everyone. If I could have any game I want, I 'd make a game with a shota MC, going down the street in his suburban neighborhood, fucking everyone in broad daylight.

Every sex scene is short, there isn't much happening, just a few frames, sometimes some jank animation. Usually that's enough for me when the models are hot (and they are), but the posing and the framing is "meh", the kinks are just not there, and the sex writing is just as bad as the story.

I like the story the progression and episodes its not short as i thought it would be thumbs up but i hope MC will not use his power to rewrite megan memories. I want that MC and Megan would develop natural relationship and dont use his magical powers to Megan i hope creator go this route

Don't let my 2 star rating mislead you, this is a good game. It's got passable writing, and decent sex scenes. It suffers from a lot of the same issues other 3D games have visually, but that's not really much of an issue.

Shut Up and Dance is a fairly dense game, there's a lot of text, and a good amount of choices, but what makes it stand out is that those choices tend to matter. There are very few empty choices that have no lasting impact, even choices you make at the start can come back to bite you much later. It was fairly satisfying to explore the different choices and how they changed the story, and that's something I can't say about most other games.

But this brings us to the reason I'm rating this game two stars; the cousin, Angeline, is a trash character given undue importance through a combination of contrived stupidity, and a lack of choices. Nothing you do matters in regards to your cousin, you cannot tell her no, you cannot push her away like you can with every other character. She is a black hole who sucks up the game's substance, and leaves it a lesser product from the moment she appears.

As of episode 4, I don't know if I would really recommend this game to others. While I enjoy most aspects of Shut Up and Dance, and will follow its development through future updates, the cousin sucks the life out of an otherwise fine product, and I'm skeptical of its future, to say the least.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs... The version this review is based on is Ep. 3 v1.0 Special...

The visuals, over all, are slightly grainy throughout the entire VN/Game... The characters are ok, with a couple being a bit over the top... The backdrops are fairly basic, with a good chunk of them being ones I've seen before in other VN/Games...

The script is a mixed bag, with some occassional broken English mixed with some occasional spelling/grammar errors... You can most definitely tell this VN/Game is a poor attempt at converting from an Incest based story... The A-Typical Landlady and Roommate word replacements, and how they sound some of the time in the story text, are signs of Lazy find and replace word searches... There are still some occasional signs remaining that the two women the male protagonist lives with are related, which shows the lack of the developers willingness to actually go back through the entire text and re-write it, to make more sense for a landlady-tenant dynamic...

The plot revolves around a male protagonist living with an older lady and a younger lady, after his scientist father dies... He is approached by a woman claiming to be his fathers assistant, who then very quickly convinces the protagonist to partake in experiments to somehow miraculously reveal memories from his father's experiments... First off, how can the Protagonist's DNA help reveal information from a totally different person who is dead? Secondly, the drugs the protagonist takes and the High Tech table he sleeps on supposedly give him some side abilities to control other peoples memories and thoughts?

This VN/Game, although it is enriched with lots of story telling, moves at lightning speed, both in the relationship building as well as plot movement... Somehow, and very quickly, he convinces his landlady (formerly his mom/mother) that she needs to help him sexually in order to help him not faint all the time, when he becomes aroused... There was even a moment when the story is supposedly going through a flashback, but it was a VERY long flashback, after which it continues on... I just felt the story telling was far too fast paced, and a bit on the far fetched side when it came to how quickly the female characters got on board with the protagonist, even though he wasn't mind controlling them... There are lots of examples I could give. but it would take far too long to go over them all...

Overall, I can sense that the developers were attempting to put some emphasis on the story telling, but the plot felt too artificial and far fetched, especially at the pace which things occurred... The visuals were all slightly grainy, which isn't always a bad thing, but still lowers the quality of the visuals... The characters didn't feel very believable, and sometimes the story continuity felt a bit jumbled... I get the sense that the developers were trying to tell a plot rich story, along with all the erotic scenarios, but in the end it felt too over the top and not very immersive... I have to give the developers a thumbs up for the attempt, but as a whole, the product is a bit poor over all...

If you are going to convert from Incest, then do it right, because the story telling sounds hokey when all that is done is a few word replacements... I'm guessing it was done to try and keep compliant with Patreon rules... But it's a sign of lazy development to not go through the whole set of text, and just modify the story to make complete sense, with the changes...

Will I revisit this one? Most likely not, but only time will tell...

Major improvements have been done with this game during the rework is why I'm uping my rating. The renders and animations have been unbelievably better than before, so is the writing, it's becoming a favorite of mine.
