I really have to say this, I'm getting exhausted playing and reviewing games that are pretty much just carbon copies of each other over and over and over again. It's also very taxing being one of the few people that don't just give a game a perfect rating because the girls are hot. I understand the "adult gaming" space is a very weird place, but the fact I can read a game's description, look at the previews, and instantly know what's going to happen in the non-story, as well as the most frequent reviews, is pitiful. It feels like EA/Ubisoft type games out here. No innovation, effort, or soul. Just "Here is this framework of a game and story that you paid for before, but again!!" All that being said, this boiled down to another big business/corporate espionage/mafia story. MCs dad uncovered the wrong thing, he's dead, son wants revenge. But only AFTER he makes vivid cringey notes of every woman's tits and asses. You know, all the thoughts YOU, the player, should say to yourself? Nah, the writer will tell you what to think about every female on screen at all times. There's plenty of issues with this though so let's get through this.
The game opens up to MC narrating his deepest personal trauma to himself in an old car on a dusty road. Apparently, his dad was killed by someone with a pentagram symbol on their arm for unknown reasons. And, since that moment in time, MC has done NOTHING with that information. Why he's just now trying to get revenge, or even looking for information? Who knows. So MC moves in with a surrogate mother type, Scarlett, as a base of operations in "Sinful City." Couldn't call it sin city, or just anything else, there is a city with the actual name Sinful City in this universe. Right. So you do the typical meets of: Mom, younger daughter, older daughter, neighbor, neighbor's mom, coffee girl yadda yadda. All the tropes you've seen before because originality is dead. The first girl MC meets, not in the house he's staying, pretty much says "Let's date, make sure to fuck other girls!" All while all the women act like virgin-esque pure maidens by day and cock goblins by night, soon after the writer has exhausted their one personality trait. Anywho It's all idle nothings for the first few chapters, all MC learns is Scarlett had a shoebox with three items in it that had the pentagram from before. Also, the dean of the school looks like a comically evil woman and her picture was in the box. So suspect number one. So far every chapter is structured like this: Story exposition, N O T H I N G that matters for the rest of the chapter, then it ends on a story beat that is continued in the next chapter. Sure, you get a minor tidbit of information here and there, but if you separated the sex from the story, neither would be impacted and both would probably do better on their own.
So, skip ahead a few contrivances, MC is alone at the spa he works at with no interview, training, or help of any kind. Scarlett's girlfriend shows up and SOMEHOW, at a spa, that would need trained professionals, MC dumbly just says "Sorry I'm the only one here." WHY is there no one there? Why did she accept a massage from someone not trained to do so? Does no one realize that place could be sued for this? Why does MC go along with it because he 'gave a massage once'? Why am I thinking critically about a dumb porn game? WHO KNOWS. MC also gives her a happy ending, you know the woman dating Scarlett? The one she just confided in MC for having troubles with? MC is a dick. Violet is a dick. She also laughs off MC sneaking on her gated property to spy in her window on them with "You're one curious boy." Even IF she's part of this conspiracy, that we DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT YET, that was a dumb set of events. Also, MC now has TWO jobs, about to start college on a whim, and trying to learn any iota of evidence about his father's death. All while romancing 12 women. Where would any human have the time or energy? Luckily this is a porn game and jobs only last as long as the plot requires, I guess. And piecing what little you get together... The whole upper class is a devil worshipping sex cult trying to summon the two devils to earth. Right. And everything MC does is hilariously blatant and if this were remotely real, he'd have been caught as he went to the college the first time, I would wager. I also find it funny that Emma disappears for more than a whole chapter, already tired of her?
Eventually, the detective FINALLY tries to get more information with MC. But they go to someone's house and the girls start having sex. So, instead of hiding and waiting, or using that time to sneak in, or just not staring into a brightly lit GIANT bay window, they sit right outside the giant brightly lit bay window and describe the sex they're having? Then, when they stop, Angie just says "Welp we did nothing, sorry for wasting your time, bye." What was the point of that? For her to say "Get to know Olivia more"? That could have been the whole phone call. And MC's reluctance to talk with Lexi about his dad's death is odd, considering he told one of the other girls when they first met. Why is it a secret to say "My dad died and I'm sad"? He's being weird avoiding the question as much as it is odd she interrogates him. It's even dumber when her and her frog mouth walk in on MC in the comical satanic room that's hidden in the school. They're about to be caught, so what does MC do? Grind his dick on her while risking possible death. This man is the reason grading on a curve was invented. Then, because no event can happen on its own, just about every LI MC meets is mad at him for one reason or another. Lexi? He forgot to meet her. Allison? He asked what she got in the mail? Lana? Shows up to the coffee show with Lexi and she assumes it's a date, but MC thinks he deserves that even though she hasn't been in the story since chapter one. Every interaction MC has is beyond dumb. Every advancement of the plot makes no sense, in terms of how it happens. And everyone involved is a moron. Leading to the cliffhanger at episode six. Big shocker there.
In the second game, I will say the renders noticeably improve, but it just kinda looks like every other DAZ game out there now. The first game, every sex scene looked almost worse than the one before it. If it wasn't grainy, the lighting would be terrible, or there would be a bunch of artifacting, or just plain blurry. And the stills weren't much better. The backgrounds would just randomly move around render to render, inconsistent lighting, or poor composition. And if I have to watch this idiot look down at his crotch in his tidey whities one more time, I might scream. WE, the players, that are 99% male, don't need to see him look at his crotch as he wakes up, sit on the bed while still looking at his crotch, stand up while still looking at his crotch now in sneakers and underwear, have him move to the bathroom then look at his dick again in the shower. Same as him going to bed. A black screen with "The Next Day" would suffice. Who are these renders for? I'm genuinely confused. And in part two, I think MC picks up TWO more jobs. My god, it's like a joke at this point. And I gotta be honest, story-wise I kinda checked out. The sex scenes aren't even good and depending on the character that was on screen I knew when I could just skip everything. So the story's not compelling, the sex scenes aren't sexy, and the dialogue is boring as sin. Why play this game? And after this point, MC just sexually assaults Quinn every chance he gets, so on top of being a dick and complete moron, he's a rapist. I really couldn't be bothered to continue this.
The English is almost there. It was obviously written by someone that doesn't speak it natively, but it's not Engrish levels of terrible. The UI/UX was heavily customized, it's still just renpy with a twist, and they switch back to the default textbox in the second part, but good effort. The art is woefully inconsistent. Sure, it got better, but a lot of the previous version should be silently touched up. The dialogue and story are boring. If they're not boring then the events are actually just plain stupid. It's kind of a shame, really. Could I imagine a world where this is better? Sure. A devil worshipping sex cult with a murder mystery could have done great. But the MC and every decision that's made are laughable at best. If you liked what little story there was in the beginning, I share your disappointment. Even the minor conflicts with Lexi made this somewhat interesting, but it becomes "MC walks room to room to have sex with the woman, whether she wants to or not.
