Very promising start. The lore is interesting for once -- thank God it's not another "jobless college-age male lives at home with his mom and two sisters" -- and the AM is a very nice, freaky-looking Harlan Ellison nod. I see you.
My only critique at the moment is the whole Teach segment. Exposition dumps aren't my favorite -- it's a lot of tell and not a lot of show. But as you noted at the start, this is an on-rails proof of concept, so I figure maybe the lore will be integrated more smoothly in future iterations.
