interresting, but i closed one of the windows by mistake and i can´t play anymore. i can´t be able to reorganize de windows.

Hey, everyone! I'm close to finishing up the new build, which includes some much needed polishing and lots and lots more content. I've finished throwing a fresh coat of paint on the whole thing, making sure photos and videos are standardized to fit in the 720x1280 viewing window, adding a splash of color, and remaking the whole training menu so that its easier and more visually pleasing to navigate (screenshots of this attached). I've already got most of the new video clips cut up, and there's going to be a lot of narrative content once I'm done.

Thanks to everyone who's tried it so far and given feedback while I'm figuring out what I'm doing. It feels like its properly shaping up now.

spectre1viper limited the image height to 500 for all images in EVIL 2. I followed that same pattern with my four releases to the game. That allows a good sized image without forcing players to scroll. We don't want players to have to scroll if we can help it.

He also set all videos to 1024x576 with a max bitrate of 2200 (MP4s). That way all pictures and videos had a standard size and would always fit in the same window without issue.

I found that unless the video is 2K or better quality, having a bitrate over 2200 doesn't improve visual quality to the average eye. Most videos I recompiled to a bitrate of 2000 or less. That could save you a lot of file space going forward (it depends on what software you are recompiling the videos with and what options are available).
To second Jesicajones above, on Girl Life we put a limit on image heights at 600px. There are programs that will let you batch resize but for free programs that do that they seem to all be online, so depending on upload and download speeds can be really useful or worse than doing it one by one.
I took this advice, and have edited all the pictures and video to display properly in a 720x1280 window. Looks way better. I’m using almost exclusively 720p video, so I went with that as the standard size.

I’ll definitely look into lowering the video bitrate. I’ve been re-encoding to webm-supported codecs with Avidemux, but I’ve almost definitely been setting the bitrate unnecessarily high because I’m pretty new to the whole process.

Please don't mute the audio in the video clips. If players don't want to listen to the sound, they can turn down the volume on their QSP player. I totally disagree with whoever suggested to mute the video clips. One of the reasons I like QSP and games like this is because they can playback video easily.

However, I don't like that devs usually remove the sound from clips. Yes, I get it reduces file size, but sound is a important part of the media, and compression is a much better way to deal with file size, in my opinion. As for whether the sounds "fit" with your game's narrative, I also think that is a faulty excuse to remove the audio, because the clips are usually short and contain no dialogue besides moans and groans. Yeah, it can get repetitive, but it's highly unlikely that the sounds would give away a scene and ruin the story if the images in the video otherwise match.

Thanks to jessicajones and the EVIL 2 team for keeping the audio in most of the clips. That's another great QSP game right there. (Lemme know about other English voiced games or real porn games with audio ;))
This makes sense. My plan going forward is to try and cut clips in places where there’s only moaning, and only cut the audio on select videos that would be especially immersion breaking for whatever reason.

I have a trainee's pride to -410, obedience to 100 (it seems to be capped there), and own the toilet brush gag, but whenever I attempt to assign "Have her clean the bathroom" I get the message "She is either too prideful or not obedient enough to agree to this."

I think I figured it out, her fear needs to be high as well.
Yeah, that’s it, I’ll change the message to make it more clear, thank you for fiddling around and finding it. Also thanks for letting me know I forgot to set a lower limit on the pride counter, lol.

I'm not seeing the story, all I get are the pics and my choices. any idea?
You might've accidentally closed the Main Description Window. If you go to Settings -> Show/Hide, you'll see a list of all the QSP windows. You'll want to turn on the Main Description, Additional Description, and Action windows. I recommend arranging them as seen in my screenshots.

If you're talking about the lack of text accompanying training images in the basement, I just haven't written it yet, so its only the images for now.

So.. do we have any date for the next update?
Don't have a specific date yet, but probably some time in the next couple weeks. It looks like its going to have a filesize over 1GB, so I've been working on giving it a significantly higher level of polish before I expect people to commit to a larger download.

Thanks for your interest. I'm just working on this whenever I have free time, so progress is sporadic.

I can push an interim 0.39 update with what I've done so far if people want, It would include most of the polishing and basically all the media files that will be in the 0.4 update, but some of the media will be in disconnected galleries until I finish writing them into the gameplay. Either way, after this next update, I'll upload update files that only include a new .qsp file and any newly included media, because the filesize is going to start to get significant.

No problem, but I really liked what is there... so i really love to see this as a... game, because until now it was more a concept and some very random stuff when kidnapping

From what I have seen so far, I think the girls that can be kidnapped should feature their own picture set each, if possible

Yeah, I'm trying to get it to actual game territory lol. I'm trying to focus on girls with individual photosets, most of the new videos and pictures that are being added in the new update are all the same model and part of the same storyline. My plan is to add six or so girls with a lot of specific content and multiple endings that constitute most of the content to complete in the game.

I'm definitely going to flesh out the randomly generated kidnapping system (it's really just in "functional for prototype" still, completely random, succesful every time, meaningless) so there's actual gameplay there, but I think I'm still going to keep the images for these generic generated girls mostly random, and use the freedom that provides to add a lot more images to flesh out the training system, allow for more specialization, freedom, and kink representation than the specific photosets of girls you get "Contracts" for.

Hey everyone. Still tinkering and smoothing things out on the next update, but I've got a LOT of new things implemented on the gameplay front. Even though I still need to do more writing and programming before the update's ready, I wanted to show some screenshots of what I've been working on so it doesn't seem like the project is dead and to see what people think.

New items:

I've added a bunch of new items that can be gained from various activities, which may be converted into money, other items, or may be required to progress certain choices. For example, the above "Compromising Snapshot" may be sold on the internet for some quick cash, but it can be used with other items to create an incredibly useful "Damning Blackmail":

These items can be gained from various activities found in different locations on the new world map (in progress):

The action window of QSP is now used only for actual actions - travelling from place to place is now done through the map above or html links in the main description window as seen below (disregard the two debug actions):

Some of these activities have skill checks associated with them, the chance of success increasing as the relevant skill does:

Damn this has such great potential. Just needs more of the main gameplay loop working.
I know that its very easy to just keep adding new features and get distracted from the core game, but don't let feature creep ruin this. Please! :cry:
