I can't tell you the perfect way to find a good game but I can tell you the easiest way to figure out if a game's thread is worth ignoring before you even play it.

- "AI CG" tag is something you can filter out. Not specifically hating on AI, just that AI CG either won't be animated or will be animated terribly.

- I would suggest against filtering the "NTR" tag out just because it's so extremely common. A lot of games only feature one scene of it or it actually is voyeurism. If you filter out NTR, you're probably missing out on 50% of the market with whatever good games are there, but probably more.

- Complete lack of the "Animated" tag. If you like static porn pictures you can already get that from r34, no need to risk a download for a game that might or might not contain viruses. Unless you actually like just playing the game, I guess?

- VNs usually fail to either tell a story or deliver good porn, but if it has the "Animated" tag and consistent 4* and above reviews, it might be worth a click. Maybe. Just remember it's still a coinflip and to keep your expectations low.

- Try to figure out if the game is overly-geared towards one specific niche (that you don't like) that maybe a hundred people in the entire world would like, because high chances are it'll forgo sexual content entirely in favour of cramming that one niche into your face over and over and over. There will be little to no other nsfw content in that game.

- And lastly, avoid any games by devs which usually abandon their titles and gravitate towards reliable devs that usually finish their titles. And remember, a good dev that used to finish their games can become a bad dev that shills their fans on patreon any time, but a bad dev will never ever change their ways.

I tend to enable certain tags that are of interest to me and maybe disable abandoned or enable completed.

Then I scan through looking at the opening thumbnail pictures to see if the art style is something that I find appealing.

When I find one that looks attractive I study the picture to see if there are any things like monster tits, pierced nipples, rope play, sex toys, deliberately oversized/undersized cocks or girls that look overly smiley and happy, etc, all things that are turn offs to me and is an automatic rejection. I don't want every picture to be where the girl looks stupidly happy, smiley and contented whilst having sex, I also don't like it when characters have an overly "girl boss" large-and-in-charge femdom look, that makes me feel like nothing matters, there's no incentive for me in that situation, where's the pleasure in fucking someone where she doesn't even feel it and it's all seemingly a mechanical action? I don't like it in any situation where the character (girl or boy) is treated like a fleshy sex toy, I hate that with a passion! Not at all fond of relationships consisting of one night stands and casual throwaway sex, when it comes to casual sex prostitution is the only situation that I consider to be fine especially when there's a degree of sexy angst involved.

If it passes the looks test then I'll read the synopsis, if it's mostly retarded then I'll skip, if it sounds good or even passable then I'll look through all the screenshots.

I usually make my decision by now, but I might still not be convinced, if so then I'll read the negative reviews, maybe I'll even read one positive review that doesn't look like automatic and unthinking 5 star bullshit.

After that I'll either bookmark it for a later date if I'm mildly interested or download it immediately if I'm fully interested, I might even play it straight after downloading if needs must.
