Slow image loading

In what scenario do you experience lag when images are slow in loading? Like the ones you attach to a message before sending the message in a chat/thread? Or slowness as in images when viewing preview thumbnails when you visit a specific game page?
For the latter, I do have issues wherein images do load slowly (i.e., depending on the resolution of the image itself), but this often happens when I am downloading another large file (or game in the background) that eats up all the bandwidth and hence the images take a few extra seconds longer to load when I am viewing preview thumbnails on a specific game page itself.

This problem has been bothering me for a long time. There is no problem with the display speed of pictures on the "latest_alpha" page, but every time I click on a post, even if nothing is downloaded at the moment, the #1 picture will load very slowly, especially the picture previews in the lower row. After clicking on them, no matter the resolution size, they will take a while to load.
