Ren'Py - Small Coffee [v0.2.5 Fix] [SmallCoffee]

Very good porn game, a lot of games on this site these days often kinda forget that they are precisely this – a porn games, so the porn part at least must be good and not underwhelming. This game gets it, scenes are excellent and very sexy.

My only criticism is that this game may benefit greatly from dropping the open world and shifting completely to the more linear structure with meaningful choices.

Also, recent bad ends also feel a bit rushed and unnecessary. It would be good if they were at least more fleshed out with some extra scenes.

But aside from that, there is a lot of good content already, and I am looking forward to future updates.

Great renders and models. A decent amount of content. Sex scenes are great so far. Game has a lot of promise and hopefully it doesn't get abandoned.
Something I will say though is it's not too clear where you need to go to progress or start certain events.

Surprisingly a lot of content, and the renders are amazing. The smut scenes are long, which is something to be appreciative of, especially in these type of games.

The story takes itself seriously, and while action happens rather quickly, it is not super out of the blue and fits well enough within the adult genre. There is however no thread to follow or knit it all together, the MC simply is writing a thesis and meets all the LIs.

The dev could benefit from playing other games with good writing or reading novels, hell even passing some dialogue to an AI for review. The dirty talk is fine though.

Story seems to force you to make a choice between Sarah and Elise, which I personally don't like, but I can understand why it would make sense to cut them off in terms of development, especially as most LIs seem to be really possessive in this game and it feels like you're going to be forced to pick just one. However this choice is not made obvious at all.

Other than that, the game is really good and I recommend it. Coming close to being top in the genre.

    As of 0.25

    If I could I'd give it a 3.5/5.
It is definitely an above average game, but held back from being a good one.

The writing is what keeps the game from being good. The characters and artstyle keep it from rating it lower.

The art certainly is this game's stronger point. It does have the interesting approach to attempt to handle both male and female protagonists.
The characters are generally well designed and have the potential for good interactions.

But here the writing steps in and prevents that from actually happening. All of the characters are instantly heads of heels into our very passive character in a run-of-the-mill big city, university setting.
Apart from the grammar the relationship development and character interaction is just jarring. It goes from 0 to way over the top in an instant. Everyone is absolutely obsessed with the, for my taste, way too passive protagonist for no good reason. It all feels unnatural (apart from Linda) and fails to mostly build up any real sexual tension.

As of now it is a solid game, nice to look at, but noticably held back by its writing.

This really shouldn't be a sandbox. As it is, it's a scene collector with either slideshow animations or overdone standard animations. Not enough story and the dialogue that does exist is lifeless and uninteresting.

**3/5 Stars - Held Back by Writing**

Currently (v0.2), `small coffee` has a lot of potential lurking beneath the surface, but it's currently hampered by some significant issues with its writing. If I could overlook this major flaw, I'd easily bump this up to a 4 or even 4.5-star experience. The artwork is genuinely impressive, and the backstories for characters like Sarah and Zoey have me genuinely intrigued and wanting more, but the constant errors really take me out of it.

The most glaring problem is the inconsistencies with sentence structure, especially with punctuation. It feels like 50% of sentences just end abruptly with a period, while others trail off, leaving many lines feeling unfinished. This really breaks the immersion and makes the dialogue feel choppy and unnatural. Take for instance, "He just needs to be guided, that's all," which is grammatically sound, but then the next sentence might read "hey! don't talk about me like I'm one of your little pets" where we have a sentence that starts lowercase, followed by an exclamation point but no period or any sentence ending.

And it’s not just an issue of basic punctuation. There are also instances of inconsistent grammar and pronoun usage that make the whole experience feel very unpolished (which can be overlooked to a point with it only being a 0.2 release). However, it baffles me seeing these kinds of errors in games so frequently in our current era where it's incredibly easy to simply copy/paste a script into a simple grammar checker or AI. (AI: Grammar check this for me: copy & paste). I understand when coding the text, it's not that simple, but it definitely gives the impression that there isn't a master script for the project, and bulks of the game's text are just implemented on the spot.

AI/Word tools can easily fix these kinds of issues while not relying on them to generate an artificial storyline. When these types of errors are present everywhere, it’s really hard to forgive them.

To be clear, I think the characters and concepts here have great potential. From my perspective, the renders are well done, and the game has plenty of `juicy` content. In spite of the issues, the story still has enough draw to keep me wanting to know where it's going. If the developer were to invest some time cleaning up the writing and ensures the text flows as intended, then I'd be very happy to increase my rating.

In summary: The artwork and character concepts show good things, but the pervasive issues with writing are hard to ignore. If the writing gets fixed I'll easily bump the review up to 4+ star rating.

Fantastic game so far. Keep up the good work, dev. I would recommend merging the male and female versions into a single download, but it's not a huge issue. Even in 0.2 it has a solid amount of content. There's a few bugs, but nothing serious.

At least for now it's kinda okay, tried both versions and female version is okayish grammar error's and he/him being addressed either both or wrong for gender. Now male version is a mess i'd say same errors as female but in this one some images just swap to female version for a couple scenes and then back to male, and wtf is with his chest it looks like he pumped smth in them while laying down. For both versions if you pick Sarah scene first u get stuck on infinite loop, as well with names I think in first time meeting Sarah and friends some names are not the ones of characters its kinda confusing. Needs some more work but after addressing minor issues id say it has potential.

    actually goated small little game
not every game is supposed to be a nuanced story where you get abducted by werewolf aliens that can mind bend
it has already tons ofcontent for 0.2
I also love the creators writing and Im sure they will explore more fetishes and givemore meaning to characters

quite a lot of content here for a start though the story line stop made me wonder but you can play past that to see more .....the story and renders are well done a few script errors to be corrected, but all in all a solid start

[v0.2] Considering its only a initial release and an update its really good. Characters are looking good, especially the bulges, situations are hot and this update even has some kinetic action rather then only still images. So its a good futa game and going in the right direction. Negatives are there as well but they are minimal and to be expected of a 0.2, like no walkhtrough or quest markers. But when you click on stuff youll eventually see everything so its really nothing. General vibe i get from the game is a 4 stars but because its still an early version i give the extra star, the flaws can be corrected. Highly recommend playing it

Great game, easy to play and follow the story, sexy characters. Also great that you can play female/male mc. A way to make money would be great to have for the next version because the money system feels strange to have now

This is a promising game. I'm pretty excited to see the next couple of update, hoping there's a decent pacing. I'm thinking this is going be the classic college life with a sideline job.
It looks like MC is kind of horny and little vulnerable.
