Hello there,

So I've spent the last few year screwing around with game engines and learning stuff, so well.......i can make stuff. The reason is, I'm not a fan of visual novels and unfortunately for me, the landscape is flooded with them. this isn't a post bashing them, but this game will not be another story driven visual novel project, rather a gameplay focused game that will use narrative as a driving force for erotic content in the game. I'm now at a point in planning and technical skills where i feel like i can comfortably start work on something that I'd want to publish. So what better community to bounce some ideas and refine ideas off then this one right? to preface this thread, it's not a development post but more to bounce some ideas off others heads. I've compiled all my ideas and mechanics into a completed GDD that I'll use and reference for the design on the game but i want to see what the overall interest in these ideas with this community are.


What I'm making:
As i stated earlier, I'm not a big fan of narrative driven visual novel, for me they end up feeling like clicking simulators rather then a interactive piece of media. So I've always gravitated towards games that had more of a gameplay focus because i feel more connected and apart of the content when i can directly control and interact with the game vs click through dialogue. That preference is what motivated and inspire the idea for this game, the plan is to deliver an gameplay focused interactive stylized first person 3D game. Assets and characters will be made using blender and unity will be the engine of choice. I've included a character concept drawing for everyone to look at to get an idea of the art style that I'll be going for in this game in the spoiler below.

the main mission route will follow your character having to clear a dungeon, there will be 10 floors total each with 5 levels. each floor requires new skills and upgrades which will require money. out side of the dungeon will be the town you live in. the town will give the player 3 ways to make extra money, which will include becoming a store clerk, becoming a Border Guard, Becoming a Drug dealer. each on of these route can be mixed and match and there will be 4 progression tiers for each. this will serve as the core of the game, player will clear dungeon levels and floors, upgrade and work different ventures in town to earn more money to buy upgrades to progress through the dungeon more.

The Gamplayloop:
I touch on it a bit in my last paragraph but I'll elaborate more for each section

-The Dungeon: This will be the central trunk of the game, the player character is tasked with clearing the dungeon and saving anyone they come across that have been taken prisoner by bandits. each floor will have unique creatures and different sexual scenarios will be encountered as you explore. This will require upgrades to be purchased to continue, some treasure can be looted from the dungeon. if the player is knocked they will spawn back in town and have money deducted from them (think GTA)

-The town: This will be the players best source of income, there will also be a plethora of sexual content available for the player to discover. NPC's in the town will be corruptible, what I'm thinking is the town will have about 60 NPC's who can be found doing their thing in town. the 3 ways to make extra money will allow the player to interact with these NPC's in various ways.

  • First way is drug dealing, this is going to be heavily inspire from Schedule 1, the idea here is sell your product to the NPC's, buy upgrades to increase efficiency and quality. Player can take ingredients and mix them in with the drugs to create different effects, this is where we get perverted folks. these mixes can create drugs that cause the NPC to be more suggestible, horny and allow the player to bend their rules more easily. NPC's can also offer, or be asked to pay in an alternative ways. depending on their corruption level may be a simple flash or could be a blowjob. also you need to avoid guards, if they catch you'll get a bounty, if it get too high, you'll be arrested.
  • Second way will be the business route, start as a store clerk and this route will allow you to buy businesses, which can include a bar, club brothel. this route is the one i have the least planned out to be honest and will be subjected to most change. Right now my thought is this will support the other routes mostly and provide good passive income.
  • last is the city guard route. start as a border guard, this mini game section is going to be heavily inspired by "The imperial Gate Keeper" as you rank up, patrol work becomes available and again you can use you position of power to find alternative means of paying fines. i have a lot more ideas in my GDD for this route but explains the core premise
the plan is to have a main quest line for the dungeon, and 3 branch quest line for the 3 money making jobs in town. also plan on sprinkling in some side quests and random encounters. also plan on having the main character living with their Aunt, her 2 daughters and your sister. each are going to have a side quest line attached to each one. For corruption of these characters i plan to tie progression to personality + situation, not just “unlocking” acts. the plan to do that is to mix in corruption, negotiation, and stakes as well as to blur the lines between hate, tolerance, and desire . the end goal is to make these interactions feel more organic and taboo, and less like you're leveling up a character.

Conclusion:
so i just want to conclude that this isn't and advertisement for a game, these are the idea's that i have that i want to make into a fully realized project the plan is to work on it on my free time and get it to a point where i can share a playable version with the community but i have no time line on when that will be. Right now I'm just looking for some feed back on the project with others and the art direction, obviously talking to friends and family about porn games and bouncing ideas off them on what to make, would be awkward at best, so this is my best option lol. would love to hear others thoughts and suggestions on this as well.

i will recommend you to do write down what system you want, and can think of, so there a goal to aim for.

i can't really tell if you aiming big or small, since it seem alot of system you not making , like clothing system .
and aiming for 5 head body size, i really not use to looking at that.

if you need people to pick on the detail or talk what problem you can face, i do recommend to make a gameplay loop diagram so you know/reminder what system connect to each other.
