At the start the MC is running towards a fire and saves someone near the a tree which was on fire while a girl tried to stop him.
The MC is not human I think, In the pause menu I remember him looked kinda like a black shadow

Makes me think of Book of Tentacles . I'm not the best judge of art styles but they seem similar; the plot sounds right and the shadow MC fits. Hope this helps
