SOLVED - It seemed like my old posts did not count, I now am able to post private messages after creating 5 messages.

I have been looking around the forum and understand that you need to post to be able to send DMs. I know for a fact that I have started threads before but I still can't send any DMs. Is this because I deleted the posts in the past?
