Some months ago I played for a few minutes to an hour a game that you were a police officer... iirc the first scene ends with you killing someone then after that you are kinda forcefully retired from the police, then you become a private investigator. after that, your first "mission" is to find out if someone's wife is cheating on the guy, then you have the option to blackmail her, etc...
