Hello, I downloaded a character from here and extracted it to the `\DAZ 3D\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\`. But I can't create a character in DAZ using the downloaded files. It seems that the "Figure" or something is missing.
What should I do? Download a character with "Figure" and replace the body or something? Thank you for your help!

Most of the time, you need to load a genesis 8 female base figure (or whatever gen, in your screenshot it's 8) and have it targeted when applying heads and bodies.

Characters are mostly morphs to an existing figure.

Thank you very much, I've successfully created the character.
But I realized that it seems to contain only the body and facial features, but not the hair, clothes, movement, etc. It doesn't look like the promotional image. Is this normal?Or am I missing or doing something wrong?

The way it looks in the promotional image :D

It's normal. All those things are assets you add to your character. Some things are often included such as skin and makeup (you still have to apply them).

Stuff like hairs and clothes are almost never included unless it's a bundle.

Poses and expressions are also sold (or pirated ...) separately most of the time.

Then there's lighting and such things. You have a long journey ahead of you.

You have to buy every single thing you see in promotional pictures separately (what comes in package is character, lips color/s and few things like that you see on the character), that includes also searching for them on daz store or internet.

Emm...what does "* Preset Characters " mean?
I thought it would be a complete character or something like that, but I can't find it in the DAZ library

Basically speaking, it's the shape of the character.

More in depth, it's the morph to apply to the base character (Usually the Genesis model for the correct generation, a bit less frequently the Victoria/Michael model, rarely another model) in order to reach the shape for this character.

Imagine you have a character creation in a game. Where one slider is 0-100 and 0 means basic and 100 means completely different character but you still have to setup hairs and so in different tab. That is a preset where basic female genesis is 0 and a full character is 100.
At daz store, for 99% you are buying it with skin and things like that that character needs like
Face Options LIE Options Eyes Colors Lips Colors Eyelashes Map Fingernails Colors Toenails Colors and more.
As post up says, looks what you are buying, the more you will work with daz the more you will know and it will be you daily thing and you will not even look at these things and will automaticly doing these things.

Easire said = What you buy in 97% cases is character with skin without hair and clothes or just the preset without anything just with the slider/morph that will morph your basic gen8/9 to that character look/preset.

What you see in the viewport is a pale shade of what you can do in Iray. Basically the character morph is just the canvas and you still have to slap some paint on that sucker... (Textures) Did you apply the Emina skin? It's in the Material folder.

Also, most character morph packages like this one have the presets as sliders as well. Normally, you would put the name in the Parameter search box and you'll find it somewhere under the Actor heading (see image below showing the two sliders, one for her body and one for her head)

These character sliders are the easiest way to customize Genesis characters. You can mix and match any number of prebuilt characters to get one totally unique.

Here's a test render I did of this character. I did this in about 10 minutes (and 6 minutes of that was rendering). It's this character, One click HDRI lighting by and I added one spot for some shadows and catchlight in the eyes. SubD set to 4 on both the character and the hair. All the skin, eye color and makeup was from the Emina package. I added the nipples because I can't stand seeing nice models with stock tits!

She looks pretty close to the promo images. Not exact of course as I don't know exactly what lights, cloths and hair the PA used, but its for real.

Thank you for your nice reply.
I did apply the skin but got two errors. I tried to ignore them or manually locate image files with similar names, the results seem to be about the same.

The "sliders" should refer to the morph percentage, right? When the value is 0, it looks exactly like the default Genesis 8 Female?

Following your suggestion, I double-clicked an option in the HDRI Starter Pack and Render the image (Ctrl-R), now she looks a bit better

Maybe I should look for a tutorial or course to learn more about this. My goal is to import DAZ assets into Unreal Engine and make some limited customizations to suit my preferences and the style of the world.
