This looks like OhWee mod to me. Never understand ppl that use a mod and then don't explain that they did use a mod, and come to the dev to complain?
While I did originally install the mod it actually cannot be present as it's a fresh install and it's still broken, I deleted everything and re-installed, how could a mod possibly carry over? Why even imply that I was lying, I unzipped the vanilla game and ran it and it's broken out of the box, none of that is untrue.

If the mod can carry over across uninstalls/reinstalls that's a serious bug that should be fixed, why is there persistence in the first place?

Just noting that my mod has NOT been updated for the current version of SJx (2.05.010c). And it looks like the current (non-public) release has a number of changes under the hood, so I'm not sure if I'm ready to try to tackle updating my mod to the latest version once it becomes public. It's a lot of work, and I'm distracted with other things atm.

I recommend not using my mod with the most recent versions, as it will revert a number of things to the previous version, and will probably break a few things...
I'm well aware of this, which is why I tried running the game without the mod by deleting the entire folder and unzipping the un-modded vanilla game, but as you can see the vanilla game is broken as well.

Edit:
Since it appears you do not believe me based on your reaction to this post, here's a screenshot of my game folder showing the modded files do not exist.

How was I supposed to know the mod has persistence even if the game is completely reinstalled?

If the mod was still somehow installed, which it shouldn't because I deleted the whole game, the "OhWeeMod_init_labelafterload.rpy" file should be in there, but it is not.

I've given up on playing the game at this point. If it can be fixed, nice, I'm glad I was able to report a major bug to make the game better at the very least.

I didn't imply you were lying. I pointed out that crucial information had been omitted in your post, namely that a mod had been used. This information would have allowed the dev/modder to explain if the effects of the mod would still be in persistent data on a new save.

Saves and persistent file changes in the save folder caused by mods can screw up your game. On Windows, Saves are in the (game)\game\saves folder as well as in your (profile)\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\(game) folder.

To start clean, delete all of the specific game save folders from both locations. Some games also use online saves.

as far as I understand the data structure handling of renpy, any mod that is installed and affects the data stored in the save games cannot be simply removed by eliminating the mod code.

The data in the save game that is incompatible will remain. That might have been the reason here.

V2.20 will have
  • a whole bunch of filled in NSFW content (expanded pet, milking, racing...)
  • random NSFW encounters on the ship...
Looking forward for V2.10, and later for V2.20 - and even if there wont be complately new quests, veriety of small NSFW events and scenes,
YES, ADD MORE CHAT OPTIONS... AGAIN!!! This would include some more early boring ones too (like maybe more bragging about how space elves are better). Just would be nice to have the chat options better reflect each character's "growth" over the story arc. Just kind of tired about T'ris telling me for like the 3,000th time about that fat dude taking a space walk without a suit. It was funny the first time... less funny the 2,678th time. I guess the easiest implementation would have some chat options eliminated as certain stats grow, while simultaneously unlocking new chat options to replace the forbidden ones.

Still, I get it, it's just flavor, not the meat and potatoes... but who doesn't love some spice on their meal?

Edit: Missed YV's post, so added.

And on Linux that game persistence folder would instead of in appdata be found in ~/.renpy/ (y)
Hmm, I deleted the game and the ~/.renpy folder and I still can't find anything in the cupboard and the lab still has the same icons, there still must be persistence from somewhere else.

Just chiming in again...

Have you tried extracting the latest SJx vanilla build onto a completely separate drive, say a USB drive? And then starting SJx from the folder on said drive?

I was pretty careful about not touching 'core variables' in SJx in my mod, and the screenshot you shared a couple of pages back is showing the icon layout that can only be invoked by my modified 760_sexbot_lab.rpy (whatever the filename is) IF said icons are in the associated subfolder.

Unless yv0751 decided to carry the 'view only' icons (that I created for my mod) over to the new build (I haven't checked) which I doubt, somehow wherever you are starting SJx from still has the modified code.

This is why I think that you are trying to start with a modified build, not sure how you are invoking SJx. If it's a desktop shortcut, maybe the shortcut is pointing to the wrong folder, although most people just start using the .exe icon in the folder that contains the game.

This isn't a 'persistent' save issue IMHO, it's a code issue, which is why I am suggesting installing the latest vanilla version of SJx onto a USB drive and using the .exe in said USB drive folder to start up the game. This way, you SHOULD be able to verify that you are starting with a vanilla install.

Worst case, start a new game from the beginning using a vanilla install. The game allows you to pick which day you want to start on, so you won't have to play through the entire game again. Of course, multiverse pods might help with this if you have favorite sexbots or whatever, but yeah start with a new install into a separate folder, on a separate drive just to be sure.

Those are my thoughts anyways!

well she's the seven of nine equivalent, and she doesn't have any punishment interaction, so it doesn't feel "strange" that she is less conventionally interactive and submissive
but by the porn logic of the game she comes right out of the box (literally) willing to do sexual things, so its not exactly clear why she would even care about wearing clothing

Does the game ever explain exactly why she was separated from the collective, or what her mission was? I have already forgotten.

Also, The way that Moira interacts with the uniform changes at the Krell border is different from the others, since her story is handled separately. But I notice that she never appears or comments upon return to normal space, regardless of her story, uniform or submission status.

Got to say Vee really needs sexy uniforms like the rest
She starts off naked. Why would you want to change that by putting clothes on her? Everyone else, the goal is to have them wearing less fabric but with Vee you want her wearing more?! Madness!!!

We NEED to have her start walking around naked again, just like she used to in those early game builds! And having her practice also wearing the ship uniform on the way to unlocking that, would be great!

I suggest unlocking having her wear uniform as the rest ofthe crew from the jumpsuit she wears in the latest builds, and then, with some stats of hers raised enough, have her regular cloths changed into the naked version, as HER veriation on the progressive uniform mechanic - where instead of talking her into changing her regular cloths, you concince her she doesnt need them.

Speaking of which - i always hopeful for progressive uniform for more crewmembers!

Great game, I got to know it already on version 2.05_010c.

Due to the large number of locations in such games the hard task is to fill and variation (as examples bright past, the lewd knight, pizza hot, the more places on the map, the more events (including repetitive)).

SJX is really addictive and has a good plot, which I think still has more to fill.

The fantasy itself throws in expansions of Krell's influence on all systems (after all, they were already able to come to an agreement with Iltari). Expansion of features on Xenos, Quthor, NX010 (each station could have different features and bar for example).

I would like to see interaction with Galaxina on the ship, after all we get the most interesting sexbot and so far we can only direct her to arcade. Quality control for all shells (alas a bit inconvenient to shoot some shells first before QC).

More development with ship members, I think Vee still has something to teach T'Ris, development with Ylyee. Additional training with Krell also comes to mind, perhaps a joint pet walk for the whole crew in the future. A chariot for the captain, harnessed by Nimhe and Seraphine.

Characters are also all interesting and maybe there will be additional interaction with them (Grand archivar, concubine Krogneath for example).

All these thoughts to the judgment of the developer, the game is very good.

And I hope there will be a version 3.0, and maybe even higher, because to disband such a great space team is very sad.

Thank you y.v. and may the force be with you.

is there a sex gallery in the game?
Yes there is.

Open your in-game PDA (P key). In this menu there are 3 Tabs at the top to choose from. The middle one is Gallery.
Most of it is the images from Events. The ones with Golden Yellow Stars on them, are the animated scenes.

I've opened the entire gallery, but in doing so I'm left with a couple questions:

1. How do I fix the slab in cargo bay (wall segment)?

2. How to get access to heavenly bodies?
