I'm not sure if they're testing or what, but appears to be live.

That said, they have two different looks, depending on whether you go to the version with the or . Also, the front page is currently just "Lorem ipsum" text.

Oddly, they only have their security certificate set up correctly for . So do NOT do anything through .

That said, they do have their and up if you want to take a look at them.

Anyways, looks like a good sign that they should be up soon. :D(y)

Looks good.

I hope we have both Sponsorion and Subscribestar up and running within the first quarter of 2019. Also, a recent video from Jordan Peterson confirms he will leave patreon on the 15'th of january. He states that the reason is that a viable alternative should be launching by then, and from the way he worded it, I would say it is the new platform he discussed interest in developing with certain other creators.
I have no idea how the hell they got it up an running in such a short time though, if this indeed turns out to be the case. Sure, both Peterson and the others have access to fairly large amounts of cash, but still. Anyway, I welcome any competition to patreon.

If they are still around in a couple of years I "might" trust them with my financial details.

The amateurish look alone of the website is enough not to make me wanna put my stuff in there.

Yeah, I feel you on that one. It kinda reminds me a little of a design made for children, when you look at the shapes and choice of colors. Still, I am kinda rooting for them to pull through. Of course, they will need to prove themselves as being serious, both in appearance and actions.
In any case, I don't feel safe putting my money on any kind of crowfunding site atm. The crowfunding design of patreon and anything similar is under attack, and I ain't gonna be hanging onto the ship while the torpedos are heading my way.

Don't know what the solution to this problem is, but I hope we find it soon.

I agree. But im still rooting for any legitimate site that wants to compete with patreon. Its not right for them to have a monopoly on as much as they do.

@Conviction07 Indeed. I hope Subscribestar has luck with their plans of setting up new and more lenient payment partners, which they said should take them a couple of weeks (they estimated 2-3 weeks around mid-december), so if we are lucky they should be up in a week or 2. Probably not though, cause shit like this always drags out.

In any case, yeah, patreon needs a serious contender. Looked like it would be Subsribestar, until the left opened fire and left them mortally wounded on the field. Gonna be interesting to see if they have a second round of fighting in them.

Well.. welll.. welll... does anyone read the ???

Here's some bites for ya

"Sponsorion exists primarily to aid in the funding of creative endeavors. Unlike our competitor, we’ve chosen to strongly support adult content creators."

"Adult Content cannot be real-life Porn – Any content you make must be drawn, animated, or otherwise devoid of real people. No sex videos, no cam-girls, sexual photographs, etc."

"No loli, no shota." *They go into great detail.. looks like a teen? NOPE!*

"Creator accounts cannot be used to fund political activism and/or social movements."

"We don't allow funds to be collected for anything that facilitates harmful or illegal activities. You cannot post content that advocates, threatens, or shows you causing harm to yourself or other people, as well as animals. In the same line, you cannot promote illegal activities such as property crime, distribution of illegal weapons, or drug manufacturing."

So.. you can't post real life porn in any form. You can't post loli/shota. You can't promote political activism like Jordan Peterson does. You can't advocate harm to anyone like saying "hurt the demonstrators". It seems Sponsorion's main focus is to be the site to go to for adult porn creators who mainly deal with 2D/3D porn that does not deal with loli/shota or content considered illegal in the USA. Now.. here's the rub. If they use PayPal, Mastercard, etc.. it will be Patreon 2.0.

@muttdoggy Well, I can't say for Mastercard, but they have specifically stated that they won't work with Paypal. Here is a quote from one of their FAQs:

Hello everyone, Sponsorion Team here.

This week we’ve decided to dive more into where things are with respect to our launch. Earlier this year we ran into several unexpected complications that set us back a few months, but we’re now on track to complete the site in time for a Fall 2018 launch. We often receive emails from creators interested in the site, and wanted to cover some of the most frequently asked questions here, specifically those involving pledges and payouts:

Who pays the fees? - Like our competitor, we’ll be taking the transaction fees from the pledged amount (so if a sponsor pledges $1, they pay $1 and the fees are taken from that). Batch processing will be used to reduce the total cost, for sponsors pledging many creators.

Who is your payment processor? - We’re in talks with EmerchantBroker, a very well-reviewed payment processor that specializes in ‘high-risk’ processing. For those unfamiliar with the terminology, “high risk” includes adult content which is exactly the kind of processing we need.

What are their transaction fees? - EMB’s initial rate is 3.95% + 0.35c. Over time this will be reduced to 2.95% + 0.35 which is nearly identical to Paypal (2.9+0.35c). The total payment processor fee for us will be 3.95% + 0.45c due to an additional 10c surcharge to use their payment portal technology. Developing our own international-transaction-capable payment portal tech, at this point, would cost roughly 40 times as much as the rest of the site combined. Future implementation, however, could reduce fees in the future.

Will we be able to handle Vat? - Yes.
How will payouts to creators be handled? - We’re currently planning on using ACH bank services directly. That’s generally what all the major payout companies do, they’ve just streamlined the process. This means that payouts will be made a few days after the start of each month. Although there are ways we could ensure rapid, any-time payouts from the get-go all of those ways involve fees much higher than the tiny amount banks charge to move the money. Once our company is larger we’ll be able to automate this regardless, even if we have to set up our own system to do it, but at our current size direct ACH appears to be our best option. We’re still looking into this, however; if we can find a service with a rate comparable with Payoneer/Stripe/etc, that explicitly states they are happy to work with adult content, we will use it.

Will you accept Paypal? – No. Paypal is extremely hostile to adult content creators, it took our competitor years of operations to get them on board and we don’t know what concessions they had make to Paypal to be acceptable.

Cross your fingers and hope it works out!
And pray they don't get flooded with the wrong kind of creators just to screw them over.

Exactly what I was thinking. Honestly I don't want to support them because I don't like their policies. Might as well just keep paying Patreon.

You can't promote political activism like Jordan Peterson does.
Which I am happy about, since his misinformation and bigotry are harmful to society (see ). Others are happy about this as well, as .

I honestly don't see anything wrong with them specializing in one area of the market here.

You can't advocate harm to anyone like saying "hurt the demonstrators".
That's true pretty much anywhere. is illegal and is not protected speech under the First Amendment.

It seems Sponsorion's main focus is to be the site to go to for adult porn creators who mainly deal with 2D/3D porn that does not deal with loli/shota or content considered illegal in the USA.
Yeah, they're avoiding complicated legal issues by refusing to deal with live people or potentially illegal underage content. Probably a good thing since they're just starting out. Once they have sufficient funds and legal experience, hopefully they'll change to allow the use of "real-life" porn as well.

Now.. here's the rub. If they use PayPal, Mastercard, etc.. it will be Patreon 2.0.
They've been pretty open that they're using (EMB), which is a high-risk payment processor, and they've worked with them closely to make sure that what they're doing is allowed by them. So there's no chance of that happening here.

Anyways, Sponsorion has commented on .

Real porn is a tricky one because it requires extra paperwork, though it might be possible if they get enough funding.

Sounds like a good start (aside from the site design, of course).

...And now we wait for the site to actually open and see who's willing to make the switch to the new service. Goddamn but this has been a bad couple years for indie porn.
