Hello, I have been getting this recently and I have researched this and people say that the images of games on a person's profile are only blurred because Steam doesn't allow mature content. However, I have all my preferences for mature content checked and it still shows this way with blurs for my games on the web browser. Henceforth, I even unchecked every box that pertains to mature content and it still shows up the same. Mature content is blurred usually because Steam is cautious about what content is on Steam, and I am aware of this completely, however I find it odd that my games are showing still blurred in my Firefox web browser. Anyone else experiencing this same problem? I really would like to have no blur for my games on the web browser, my only guess is that Steam's most recent update has caused this blur for games, I could be wrong though. I enjoy Steam's update, but really would hope that they fix this soon. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nope. Tried to look for other adult games on web steam, nothing unusual. Same old same old. Double check settings, and maybe clean cache/cookies? Tho I doubt that's the case.

My only guess is that the games are blurred because Steam doesn't allow the games to be visibly seen on a person's profile publicly. After you log into Steam through web browser the games will not have the blur anymore. There is no blur on the client either. Oh well.

You mean when you click on person and check what games he plays ?

if you tried reloging, then no clue ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The games appear as normal when you are logged in, I just tested that now. I guess Steam doesn't allow adult games to appear normally publicly anymore, so any adult Steam game is blurred out when not logged into through a web browser for Steam. Steam is just being cautious about privacy. That is okay, the games are not blurred on the client on Steam though. :)

As you already guessed, that's just steam's SFW filter, everything with porn is blurred until you log-in with an account that has enabled porn in their preferences.

Huh, I find the 'anymore' part of that weird, as in my neck of the woods Steam's default setting is to hide adult games from the front page as well as block them from search results unless you're logged in (For example, trying to look for Love & Sex: Second Base will only display the supporter pack by default), and it's been like that since the start of NSFW games being on sale there.

When did the first NSFW game come to steam?

Did the most recent steam update change something? Because I don't recall games being blurred on profiles before.

Well that's a tricky one to get an exact answer on, as the internet doing internet things has tagged Peggle as having "Sexual Content", or SFW versions being released on steam with the 18+ patches available from the game's websites for a while (which I see started in 2015 or so, according to SteamDB).

One thing I can say for certain is 2019 was when Taimanin Asagi got publicly booted off of Steam for having "underage characters" (completely ignoring that depictions of rape weren't exactly above board at the time either), Steam did adjust its rules somewhat afterwards, and it was around this time I remember that I starting playing the "Is this Hentai?" guessing game whenever an anime game showed up on the front page of the Steam client.

Also, interesting thing I've just noticed: It looks like the Taimanin series is getting ready for round 2 on Steam, and it looks like they're trying to make it safe for work, to a point of sanding down the nipples off the body suits. That's going to be an interesting day on Steam methinks.
