so,
this is a topic i hesitate to bring on. i have no talent to make a game or visual novel, this is a fact. so i fear to criticize the games or novels all the hardworking people make. also i don't want to offend anybody.
the thing is;
there are some good short films/animated short films over there that nobody speaks or nothing written regarding to story. but when you watch it you can get the basic idea of the film.
and there are some mangas like blame, which there is barely any talking, but again in the end you can get the main idea behind it.
so being a good story isn't related to long paragpahs or pages and pages of storytelling.
so, make a game/novel with good story shouldn't be that hard, right? again, i know nothing (john snow) about making a game/novel so i don't have the right to criticize anybody.
also there is no need for a good story for everybody, i know that. but, if it isn't that hard, then why not?
also any suggestions on story based games/novels?
honestly i am more like a manga reader but im trying different things once in a while

Uhm, what is your first question? Because I can only find this one:
also any suggestions on story based games/novels?
While this one:
also there is no need for a good story for everybody, i know that. but, if it isn't that hard, then why not?
seems more like a rhetorical one to me....

So what do you want exactly?
For games with a story... well there are many around... i.e. our game (which you can find in my signature) Wicked Choices or The Coceter Chronicles or many others, it depends on what you really want, what kinks should/shouldn't be inside besides a good story of course... Name us some examples to work with. :)

It isn't wrong to be a consumer and want a good story. And you're right that a good story isn't about long waxing prose. In all storytelling there is a rule that you as the writer show rather than tell. This is even more important in visual media, where you actually have an image on the screen to accompany the dialogue and narration. You can't tell me your character is in pain and have me internalise that, you have to show me.

@Palanto Games mentioned two of my favorite titles. Coceter Chronicles will probably be my number 1 when it's complete, and Wicked Choices is already my number 3. I love Daddy is another great game for story.

What all of these games have in common is strong world building.

I Love Daddy spends each of it's 10 possible endings showing us a further aspect of a story that has been hinted at throughout the other plays. As a result every time you play it you're learning something new about the world you're in and the characters you're dealing with.

Coceter Chronicles might be one of the best set up fantasy realms I've ever seen. I'd go Kingkiller Chronicles, LotR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, then Coceter. Seriously, its that well put together, it's almost a shame that it's telling a porn story, because so few people will ever see it.

Wicked Choices has some of the most verbose writing of any games I've played. Seriously feels like an erotic novel.

I'd also add Deviant Desires to this list. It's a great Noir detective story with plenty of sexy sexy sex.

Hopefully Ptolemy is hard at work fleshing out his latest update to Intimate Relations, because it was pretty wooden, but the story up until this update was really getting good, and he already proved himself with Dreaming of Dana.

Dual Family is one of the most daring and interesting games I've played. It explores the dark side of the incest genre, the consequences of the actions that are used to make most of these games work, with the corruption from dad and the peeping from bro showing signs of sexual predators in the making if they don't correct course.

Those one's stand on a pedestal above others. though if you need more suggestions feel free to ask... Also this should probably make it to the game suggestions sub.
