Demo 3

  • Bugfix: Next Move wasn't displaying correctly
  • Moved Thought Bubble and timer to more central location
  • Added shader to full power bars
  • sparkles that hit full bars turn grey and fall to bottom grey bar
  • full grey bar will stun the enemy briefly (5 seconds added to move)
  • temporary CGs added to Tango

the UI is going to get a rework Soon™, which is why the grey bar is kinda crap at the moment, I just wanted it in so people could try it and see how it feels. Also, I know this is dev-bias/anecdotal, but I did in fact beat Bandi myself fair and square, it's possible! She is supposed to be the secret super hard boss, I probably shouldn't have released her so early, hah.
Even though I did win against Helena, I do still play it over. It is a fun game. Though I can't seem to get the secret boss to appear. When typing the code, WASD affects the menu as well and the "S" in "Deepseek" causes the menu to go down one without registering the "S". When I go one option up and press "S", it types it but it types it twice. So far, the code has yet to work.

I did look at the sprites in the game and I'm wondering if it's possible to add an option to turn off the futa/furry. Based on what I read in your post, Bandi is the name of the secret boss and based on your profile pic, Bandi is the futa one. I will say that the artwork looks really nice, despite the futa and furry characters.

Looking forward to future updates.

Edit: Found a glitch somehow. Her moves are still counting down and activating. It seems that the game doesn't like it if you attack her with 5 rainbow gems at a time. I did 5 gems to get her to half health, then did it a second time.

Edit 2: I let everything count down until my HP was at zero. She's still attacking even with the "You Lose" message.

Well, the option to turn off futa/furry is "Don't put in the codes", in the normal gameplay loop, the other characters are all girls.

Oh, I need to lock the cursor during code entry, thanks for letting me know!

That's an interesting game glitch! Thanks for telling me, I'll look into it.

Same for me, which is extra weird since both previous demo versions worked perfectly fine.
Hmmmm, that's definitely a new one, googling that error wasn't very helpful either, it made it sound like it wasn't the program's fault. It was babbling about registry issues and stuff, and I'm like "Yeah no that can't be right". I'll push out another demo (with mouse support!) in the next few days, please let me know if it's okay then. The only major thing that I can think of that could cause it would be like... the shaders? so I'll add in more checks on those.

Edit: I actually had the idea to ask Deepseek about the error, and this is what it said:
typically occurs on Windows systems when the required version of the Media Foundation library is missing or outdated. This issue is often related to the DirectX or Windows Media Foundation components, which are required for certain features in GameMaker Studio 2 (GMS2) games, such as video playback or shader rendering.

Solution 1: Download the DirectX End-User Runtime
Solution 2: Update Windows Media Foundation

I love and hate how useful AI is compared to search engines... most of the time at this point. Like it's cool to just be able to ask stuff in the weirdest possible way and still get the answer, but I hate how asking it properly in actual search engines just results in fuck all

turns out if you just download it through itchio, its fine
on another note, i see something about a extra fight? something about a code?
also, pretty good game, difficulty is def on the higher side, but frankly, i dont mind it.
honestly, other than some balancing, it aint a bad demo
and even then the balancing can just be chocked up to "fucking skill issue" on the players part
the point system should certainly be mentioned though in game.
i see why not everyone likes it, and maybe for a easymodo have a cap on how many skulls can be on the board? cause theres a lot of things to manage and keeping track of everything can get difficult really fast
also something about the point system being rather arbitrary in a prime like way is kinda funny to me
well, almost fully prime numbers, the fact that a 5 in a row gives you 7 points, the fact that 3 3's would be 9, except the cap is 7 so its missing 2...
also my method to the madness is to just go nuts with the board moving, not even bothering with trying to get more than 3's just kinda works for me

(ik this probably seems rather rambly, but tbh, i like the gameplay, and frankly i want to see what the dev will come up with for the other characters.

- Extra Fights: Yup, if you put the code FUTA into the options menu you'll get the hardest fight
- I plan on a visual like a colored +1 and +2 popping up when you match 4 or 5, so that it's very obvious
- the best thing for skulls piling up is match bombs next to them, clears that right up. :)
- fun fact, the original power bar size was 10, an arbitrary round number, but it was way too big that way, so when I dropped it to 7 and realized how the math worked out there (three matches of 3, or two matchs if you do a 4 and a 3, or one match if it's a 5), I realized that was pretty much the perfect spot for it.

I'm glad you like it! I feel like the main gameplay is pretty locked down at this point in my current version (I have added another enemy attack that amuses me), but other than that, it's mostly just making everything look nice and polish things up and try to add a lame story to link everything together with some cutscenes :D (honestly, I wasn't gonna bother with a story or anything but I guess it'd feel better to have it)

not to fill your inbox too much, but W dev moment
a dev thats actually receptive to constructive critiquing (even if its extra unhinged with run on sentences and whatnot lol)
and again, good game so far.

Enjoyed what I had been able to play so far.

Minor complaints about feeling like the pace keeps slowing when trying to get the last color but having learned about the stun bar I can't really guess at how to improve it without shifting the balance.

Opponents attack that destroys a chunk of gems was confusing to me, does it target the pointer or a specific area?

The enemy bomb attack just targets a random area on the board, that's all. Glad you enjoyed it!
