I'm not giving it 2-stars because barely anything has happened in the story, but it's filled with problems.
Firstly, the game spreads itself too thin by introducing numerous storylines and characters without fully exploring any of them. Even the intriguing central mystery surrounding Anna's family and their connection to the MC gets insufficient attention.
Secondly, the MC lacks depth and fails to leave an impression. He lacks a distinct personality, possesses no strong opinions, and fails to actively pursue his own desires. This lack of agency diminishes his effectiveness as the driving force behind the story. A protagonist should be the core focus, even if external events shape his journey.
Lastly, the choices presented in the game are shallow, mirroring the lack of depth in the overall plot. The limited interaction provided mostly revolves around advancing romantic interests, offering little room for meaningful engagement or a sense of agency. While there may be a couple of moments where you can respond to someone, including a rare opportunity for sarcasm with your boss, these instances are too brief to truly empower the player. The MC momentarily exhibits a backbone, only to regress back to his usual passive demeanour.
Overall, the game's shortcomings lie in its underdeveloped storylines, the lack of a compelling protagonist, and the shallow nature of the choices offered. These issues hinder the player's ability to become fully immersed in the narrative or feel a sense of agency.
