One of Libra Heart's first works. Its age show and there's a lot of amateurish design choices, but it is nonetheless a fun short game.
Art: Libra Heart has shown that their pixel art is quite good, even for the early days. These pixel arts, while simpler than what comes later, is still pretty good looking and well animated. They can use some better looping and more dynamic shot, though. As for the art you unlock after collecting coins... they're weird, at least for the ENG version. Sure, they're well drawn, but the semi-realistic style really doesn't fit the more vibrant, anime-esque looking pixel art in the gameplay section. Very half of this one. The JAP version of the exe files has the original pixel art. Yeah, I like this one more, fits the game's normal artstyle.
Sound: not very impressive. It's basic for the gameplay section and for the sex scenes, the same loop is used multiple times and sounds very unnatural. I like the menu sounds... when I don't press things to fast and make it sound annoying. Although a great throwback to older games, this particular menu sound is just more annoying than the usual. The music is pretty good, but ehhh they're not impressive enough to be memorable, imo.
Gameplay: a basic Castlevania-like platformer action game where you shoot up your enemy. There's not a lot to say about this game, as it is basic as it can get for the genre.
You only have 3 buttons during the gameplay: attack, jump and seduce. Attack will shoot out a projectile which you can chain shoot twice before having to wait a lil' for the next shot. These shot spend mana, the blue bar below your healthbar which refills automatically after some time, which means you can only shoot 3 times before having to wait. Your attack is pretty restrictive as you can only shoot while standing, jumping and crouching. No up down, no diagonal, nothing, you just have to line your shoot to the enemy's vertical position. While it's fun to challenge this restriction, it gets infuriating when you face an aerial enemy.
Your jumps are pretty weird. Unlike normal platformers, you will jump up and down instantly with no momentum. Your fall speed is also pretty fast because of this. Overall platforming is not bad, and the layout of several parkour sections isn't horrible. It just feels unnatural. At around stage, you will unlock a double jump, pretty late but still, it helps a lot with the jankiness sometimes.
Seduce is where your succubus power shines. You can seduce certain enemies by shooting a dedicated projectile and they will fuck you. It is really good when you consider the seduction only costs the same amount of mana as a normal shot, yet heals you 4hp and gives you 10 hearts to use for your special attack. You can also just knock the enemy out and fuck them or in some case, the enemies are H-scenes and you have to get hit. These scenes only heal you 2hp and gives you no hearts tho. It's strong at around the beginning of the game and still is at the end, but you'll need a lot more healing around there when enemies starts getting really hard and you'll get hit a lot.
Speaking of special attack, there's 3 of them. You will sometimes pick up a colored orb that gives you one of three type (only 1 can be used at a time): Spread shot, Ice barrier and Flame wave (yes I named them, no I will not look for what name the developer used for them). Each of them has their own use, and they're pretty strong, dealing absurd damage when used right. As said above, they use hearts, Castlevania style, and you can get them pretty easily so it's pretty bonkers all things considered.
Enemies are easy. They die pretty quickly and have little i-frames. The more dangerous ones are projectile attackers, otherwise they can mostly be killed by strategically shooting from another platform. The real challenges are from bosses... nah just kidding. Boss 1 and Boss 3 is really easy as they have a very easy and recognizable pattern. Boss 2 on the other hand is a-whole-nother league of boss. She has two skull that can be summoned and an invincible tentacle, as well as herself who shoots barrages of projectiles. All 4 of these goobers work on different timers, so it's very hectic when you don't kill the skulls fast or develop a pattern.
Aside from the second boss, the game overall is very easy, even though it's supposed to be Castlevania but you're a succubus. Enemies are easy, boss (mostly) are easy, you kill pretty quick, half of the enemies are walking healing packs, parkour isn't very hard. You even have infinite continues and it continue in the room you died on.
Overall a formula that works but one that can be massively improved on, as seen from games of the same genre. It isn't super janky, and it doesn't pose a big challenge, but it comes off as pretty bland.
H-content: is nice. The scenes are good, minus the aforementioned SFX, and the way having sex being more interactive than your run of the mill platformer H-game is fun, albeit kinda makes the game a bit too easy. The problem would be gallery mode, which seems to not have a cum button and the girl has no sound (even if she does make the same sound loop, it at least does something rather than silence). So gallery mode, pretty bad.
Misc.: The game is one of "those" games, where clicking fullscreen doesn't add black bars to the side of your screen, instead it will stretch the game out, so you have to position your screen every time you boot up the game. You can change the controls, but "S" is the button that changes your screen resolution which can't be configured. There's little configuration you can do and there isn't even an option menu. Finally, you lose all your special attack and hearts obtained when you exit the game, which kinda sucks if you want to redo a boss when you're still saved at that point (but it's not that big of a problem since they're easy, and they're not very useful against the 2nd boss anyways).
Conclusion: an incredibly basic but charming game. It feels pretty "retro", and Libra Heart always nail this aspect a lot. Problem for this game specifically is that it can be very lackluster and clunky at times. Would recommend this game, it's short and sweet and is a good place to kick off your adventure through Libra Heart's library of games. 7.75/10.
