Review for Demo
I really need to see more of the game before I give a better judgement, but this is a nice taste of what the future of this hopefully holds.
The overview is simple but describes this well so far. You're young and ready to get out and prove yourself by trying to join the local army. Only they don't draft you a third time in a row. Frustrated, you decide it's time to start taking matters into your own hands.
It's a well crafted intro that seems to really have some thought going into the design of it. It's not mind blowing, but I'd say much better than your average RPGM game. Rather than a sort of ramshackle thrown into the world feel, this feels like a crafted segment of the game if that makes any sense. Like the game actually knows where it's going. Characters are interesting enough so far, I appreciated the extra bit of design in the tutorial quests, good amounts of flavor text and some light world building, all the pizazz you might want out of a story-driven RPG.
I like the character models and don't mind the filter put over them, but I think it could be dialed back a bit. There's a couple combat encounters and the combat itself is rather simple right now, hoping that picks up a bit as the game goes. No real sex scenes so can't say much about that aspect. Wouldn't mind an option to change the MC's name, as just "Mark" is a little plain to me. I do like when games jump around to mysterious and powerful characters as the plot moves, thought that was a nice touch in this.
Hard to say much more as the demo ends right as things seem like they're going to pick up. I'm definitely interested though. Hoping this turns into something great.
