VN - Others - Summer of Shame [v0.45] [Logan Scodini]

It's worth a play! Up to now, the sissy content is mostly avoidable. I'm not sure if strapon content is unavoidable or if my sub stat was too high ; it's not my thing, but it seems most people people into femdom are into it. Did contain an over-specific fantasy of mine : the male being controled remotely with an attachement/implant, so I will definitely keep an eye on it.

All the characters look really nice and the story is quite interesting and makes for a great plot for a femdom setting.
So why the 3 stars? 2 reasons:
This engine whatever it is, is simply inferior to Renpy, the game does not run smoothly and the save/load system is quite lame and limited, only the space bar continues text enter does not, when we're moving from one scene to another you get this annoying prompt to continue that you have to click on, skip does not fast forward but instantly jumps you to the next choice, and you can't go back, the options menu is primitive and does not allow changing text speed or skipping transitions.
Secondly, while the game presents you with choices to decide where your character is headed, whether their Gender changes, and whether you'll be sexually interacting with men, it still tries very hard to force you into the path of transformation and having sex with men, regardless of what you want.
Being on guard and feeling frustrated do not make for a good gaming experience, however, that was what I constantly felt progressing through the game as it tries to tie submission to feminization, and pegging to homosexuality, and both (sissification/gender bending and gay content) are offputting for me.
Reading the comments, you'll see people frustrated at ending up with forced transformation despite being careful not to rise their submission stat too high, which A: it shouldn't happen as submission and sissification are different things, after all, there is a feminity stat for that, and it should be raised by choices actually related to it. B: to me, this is a red flag, players who are concerned with maintaining stats will abstain from exploring content they would otherwise wish to see, making the playthrough way less enjoyable.

The first problem for me is the engine. Its clunky and slow compared to Renpy.

Then there are the renders - they are not bad, but most of the time the characters dont show any emotions ore expressions. They are just there with some variation of resting bitch face.

The MC is clearly pushed into the sub/tf path - even when you stay dominant. Several dialogs andmonologs dont really fit if you are quite dominant. And its especially annoying at the start when you try to be the cool alpha party dude. Most of the time the MC acts like he never had pussy or even touched a girl.

So - I think the best time will have ppl that like TF or femdom content, because even the female toys act quite bossy around the MC.

The interface takes getting used to but it's simple once you figure it out. You can Quit back to the chapter start at will, then hop back/forward to whatever chapter you want to start replaying from. Then you can Skip to choices within the chapter. This means you don't really need to save at all.

I've really only tried the full-transform/mostly-sub path, so I'm not sure if the plot diverges with different choices. (A few times when I've experimented with "resisting"-style choices, I did get hints that the MC might investigate the company more.)

If you like the TF-style games, this one is par for course, which is a good thing for fans. The transformation is as much mental as anything else, which makes it as much bimboification

The characters are rather stiff and lifeless -- the banner on this thread has way more life than most characters ever show -- but I got used to it, and it actually fits with the corporate deadpan and mind-programming themes.

I took a star off for the dialogue, which gets cringy a lot, especially if you don't subsist on a steady diet of amateur adult fiction. Lots of silly porn language and over-description--like everybody talking about their parts as treats--as well as the characters spelling out their thoughts in excruciating detail which leads to loads of repetition. "Show don't tell."

I think cutting back the dialogue (especially internal) and adding some world flavor would help (e.g., strangers hitting on the MC, MC going to a bar, a mysterious person sending messages to the MC, strange dreams and/or hallucinations, etc.). There could also be side plots injected as sub-chapters, like someone who observed the transformation or lust-driven behavior or something blackmailing the MC, or the MC trying out a VR helmet and having a side experience.

For transformation fans, I think this is a solid download. For others, this is probably a little slow and unfulfilling right now. I'll be following to see how it progresses.

I fucking hate this game.

Story:
The strory is awful and doesn´t make any sense.

Characters: Awful too, the main character says he is such a dom playboy but as soon as the first woman come he acts nervous and submissive? That sucked all the imersion from this character and in his male form he is so ugly.

Music:
It was just annoying and didn´t fit.

Sissyfication:
I had so much hope I think that can be so erotic but it was handelt so badly, boring and just not realistic at all.

Gameplay:
How can a VN have so awful gameplay, I also hated that you can´t save whenever you want, why was it made like that.

A very cleaver and well done pick your adventure. If you like the fetish in the tags, you will like this story.

I am looking forward to seeing how the many different stories can progress.

I do wish there was a way to "skip" faster in the game, because if you are trying new paths, you want to get to the branches as fast as possible, and sometimes it takes a fair amount of time (with a lot of extra clicking for next chapter).

A very underrated game, where you can play as either a female or male character. Gameplay is nice, you get to make plenty of choices that have their own path, music is fabulous, solid renders, and clearly a lot of effort is put in this game and shows this dev is quite experienced as well. Looking forward to more and more versions and updates as this game is worth your time.

The renders are good, the story interesting, but still I stopped playing this.

Game play is just too much of a drag, using this non-standard engine really does not give the player any advantage.
Limited save slots for a game so full of choices is just punishing the player for no good reason.

A good gender-bender game with a really slow pace, working both on physical and mental transformation. I didn't like that some key aspects are very quick and for others there are hundreds of conversations. What I also did not like is that (so far) I don't see any point in resisting the change. Maybe that is on purpouse, but it is also quite disappointing. Also it seems the stats MC has have no meaning at all.
Now the good stuff: Visuals are stunning, models are great, GUI is good, except taht you have to click every time to get the new line and no way to automate that. Ateaast you can skip to the next interaction.

A very interesting game that enables you to play as a male or slowly transform as a female.

Love the music, it is very catchy and pleasing to hear to while playing.

The concept of the game and story is quite different than the general vn games out there.

Renders look amazing.

Animations and UI however still need work.

Cool game, do not let the wonky interface deter you. Pretty interesting to see just how depraved and low things can go for our main character. Multiple replays needed to see all content, but well worth it.

Def a game to watch. Touches on a taboo subject and is the only game of its genre that maintains quality graphics, storytelling, and gradual escalation in explicit content

Will keep an eye on this game as most people, men or women, have at some time wondered what it would be like to experience life as the opposite sex. This offers a brief teaser XD

The renders aren't that bad but this isn't an art site or a pdf of images it's a game, once again we see a game with okay renders where they're not going to use an industry standard quality game engine. If you make that choice, you really need to have a reason or you need to know what you're doing in the game engine you use. None of that applies here. It's just terrible to play, any value in it stripped away by an engine/UI/game play experience that leaves you never wanting to try again.

All I can really say is so far so good. I am interested in seeing just how far down this rabbit hole goes. I hope things continue and progress smoothly as I await for the next update.

Rating this at the v0.6 there isn't a whole lot of content out yet. Not really seeing the effects of the meter numbers, and least not that I know of. However, I have high hopes for this game. It seems like it has a good story to tell and yet we are only in the first few days of it, which I do hope turns out to be quite a long and rich tale that will make me want to play it more than once.

its the same old basic story and game play as Office Bully and the Dream Therapy series can he not come up with something new or his he just after cash and just keeps rehashing the same old thing if you have played any of the others then you have played this so do not bother down loading it

Still in the early stage, but so far I enjoyed it imensely.

I am looking very much forward to version 1.0 and especially what happens if you reach 100 shame or submissivness.

The creator seems to do an update around every 2 weeks aproximately and it has already gotten to 0.6. Hopefully in two month or so, we can see the first full release, if he manges to keep up that speed.

For someone who brags he banged all the girls in college, it's strange for me to see MC looking so submissive at the beginning of the game, but for the premise of the game, I understand you want to make that approach. However, it's still earlier to tell if you have any advantage to becoming someone dominant or just simply turn yourself into a new you, getting all the feasts of good juicy on you. UI seems a little off, but you get used to it. You can only save your progress by the beginning/ending of a new chapter, tho'. Kinda wanted to save for each choice you made it, but since you can easily skip the story - even if you have not unlocked that scene - and progressed to the choice you want, it's not a bad con. Also, each chapter is relativity small (no more than 10min).
The game's not for everyone's tastes since it has the tag of transformation, so I'm guessing the MC is gonna turn eventually into an FC. You gonna also see earlier in the game that appearances may deceive...
