VN - Ren'Py - Summer Scent [v0.6.6a Steam] [The Naughty Captain]

I download lots of games from this website, I'd say at least half are bad enough for me to instantly uninstall, for whatever reason, I thought this game would be one of them.

Little did I know, this game is pretty much exactly what I look for in a VN. There are lots and lots of routes, it seems like a hate route, a love route for each main LI, a dom route, a sub route, possibly other LIs? There is a potential for a ton of replayability. The issue I noticed, is that it all has to be consistent I'd imagine. In the mc sub route with Eve's friend, she basically is some pseudo dominatrix but in the love route she is nervous and inexperienced. It is kind of strange.

Anyways, the game has a mountain of potential. The renders are great, the girls seem interesting, mc is kind of a decent dude, the story has potential.. I can go on but basically I am saying this game has got a lot going for it. Hopefully, the dev can continue such great work.

This game certainly deserves more attention and I am excited to see more from this game.

Good Start, needs polish.

I'd like to give it 3.5 but that's not an option.

Plot: Plot isn't too bad, its actually a bit above average. Character development is decent, although I find the "friend"/MC relationship and their language with each other a bit unbelievable. Yes its a game, but it wants to draw the reader in it needs to polish this relationship and the way they speak to each other.

Renders: Overall quality and posing is good. The skin looks a little weird in some of the early draws. The big issue is eyes.

Eyes : When the renders are sharp, the eyes stand out. Often the expression of the characters is really odd, especially in the eye department. Not sure what I mean? Look at the car ride. They're having a discussion and the girls look drugged.

BDSM? : The black haired girl is a virgin, but she gives a footjob and then makes him lick up his cum? seriously wtf? If those are "virgin" moves, then I'm the Pope.

English: Its overall pretty decent/functional, but often word choice doesn't reflect the character or story well. I can't remember exact instances and its not worth going back, but the girls sometimes use words you'd never hear a modern teen say. Further the grammar needs some help in several places.

Don't get me wrong, its better than 80 percent of the renpy out there, but it needs a decent amount of buff and polish to truly shne.

I have to say: really good job!

The game is fun and the story is structured in an exciting way and very well implemented. The background stories of the characters are somewhat superficial, but still sufficient for the story.

The graphics of the pictures are very good. The characters look good (matter of taste). The lyrics are well written and the plot can be followed very easily and above all the plot's character is understandable.

After seeing previews for the earlier versions on SVS, etc... I decided to play this for the first time today... I then went through my Patreon budget and signed on IMMEDIATELY!!!

Even at this early stage (it's only v0.3), I haven't enjoyed playing a game this much so I only hope that the dev's outstanding work continues.

This game "ticks all my boxes" (so to speak!) - I found the renders to be top notch and really enjoyed the story line so far. Even though I'm not fussed about incest porn, I played it with the incest patch and still enjoyed the story line!

In five syllables, this game is "OUT-FUCKING-STANDING"!!!

I expected this game to be good, but not this good, especially for a 0.2 release. The story has a few flaws, but it’s still engaging. The pacing is well done, the writing is great, and the renders look excellent. I especially like the sister’s model.

So far, it’s a great game. I just hope the developer keeps going in this direction and doesn’t lose interest or abandon the project.

Your sister is a bitch to you. But you're the asshole for believing she's a slut when she acts like a slut every chance she gets? Her friend is a cock tease. But you're an asshole for not wanting to treat her like a goddess? She's not a goddess. She's just self-centered. The characters are obnoxious and it makes not getting the option to stand up for yourself ever unrealistic.

Really beautiful girls, with relatively original behaviour, good renders and a likeable, if dorky MC.

This is really an outstanding early version of a game.
I can't say anything negative about it.

I would like to give this a higher rating. As the starting point for a vn it's not really lacking in any department. Visuals are good, the two girls so far have a unique look. There is a story worth mentioning and already a conflict/mystery to solve.

Could just be my own weird quirks, but the plot kind of having an "original sin", and the fact that it's thrown in your face during every interaction just gets annoying. You are an asshole for not knowing your sister is a slutty bitch, when she's a bitch to you in every interaction, she's admitted to drinking and driving, you caught her stealing liquor from your parents, she goes out to bars to get drunk with guys who obviously are looking to bang.... Am I missing something here? She acts exactly as you would expect of the "rumours" but she's actually a kissless virgin? And the mc is a idiot and asshole for not believing otherwise?

I just really find that whole plot point doesn't make much sense... and having the mc get called an idiot/asshole/pervert or being ordered around in every scene just isn't my cup of tea. It starts to feel like getting nagged in real life.

So far not bad, not bad at all. At first thought it would be another generic crap written by a horny teenager, but it happend to be pretty good. Renders are not the best that I've seen, but pretty enough, models are nice, the story has a nice pace (i like to take it slow).
So far - 5 stars. We'll be watching this one. Hope the developer won't get bored with the project too fast.

I decide to try to go ahead and give this a try, and have to say it is a great start to the game.
*Both the graphics and the models was one of the best I've saw for beginning of a game.

*The story was written pretty good, and had me hook by the end of the first day.

*The only thing that stood out is maybe a button to review the stats, and how you are progressing.

I will be following this game from now on, I wish @The Naughty Captain great success in developing this game.

One of the best beginnings to a VN I've ever seen. The renders are top notch, The writing is sharp and fun. The dev managed to get to some real emotions very quickly without it feeling forced. I'm not usually big on VNs that involve incest, but this one it too good to ignore. I hope the Dev can continue this quality. If the next release is anywhere near as good as this one, I'm going to Patreon.

Only renders of 2 women so far, but both are beautifully done and in a realistic style often absent from games. Also, if my eyes doesn't deceive me, they are not stock models but rather unique.

Only a few mature scenes so far (dreams), but quality seems good to great.

Story-wise, I like the premise and it seems to have great potential, but then again I am a sucker for exactly this premise. The mystery of the 2 guys seems interesting, but I hope it is kept the b-plot, while focus is given to re-establishing the brother-sister relationship (with a healthy dose of her friend )

For a first release it's very promising, and a joy to play.
