Teaser announcement: I've gone back to this mod. New version to be expected, when it's ready. Don't expect new cut scenes or renders, there are none that would fit. Has more to do with the script itself, in fact only with the script: full rewrite to get rid of the bad English and unnatural dialog. The result might not please everyone but to me at least, it's way better...
Also, for the sake of transparency, I've enlisted the help of A.I to do this...but I'm checking the results to make sure it's consistent and not "hallucinating".

I'm guessing your mod is replacing the existing script file. Thing is, before I realized I just don't have the time I started tweaking the stuff that bothered me. Trying to clean up not only the grammar but the phrasing itself and also clearing up the stuff that made no sense by taking some artistic liberties. I only ended up editing about 120 lines but still I would have liked to keep that. Oh well. Guess I'll just tweak it again after you drop your mod.

think of it this way: you might realize there’s no need for tweaking the script anymore once I’m done ;-)
And yeah, this new version will just be a script replacement (main script and that of the replays since it’s separate, what a pain…)

Hey alain, could you ELI5 which patch do I need?

There are 3 by you. Infamous patch (very small one, only some kilobytes) and then two big ones (mods) like 1 gb each.
So whats the order of installing them? I assume first I add infamous patch and then big mod with taboo edition? and I have everything? or I dont even need that small infamous patch and taboo edition mod already has it incorporated?

Thanks for this mod. It would be quite difficult to fully enjoy the game without the improvements you've provided. It raises the question of why the developer does not work with qualified proofreaders to improve sentence structure, or at least collaborate with a writer and native English speaker for writing support. He appears to have the resources to work with capable people, rather than trying to manage everything on his own.


No one excels in every area, and that is perfectly understandable. I genuinely hope your work helps eliminate the kind of dialogue that often lacks coherence, along with the oddly childish expressions like the repeated use of "bibi." Many of us here, I believe, are well past the age where that sort of writing is appealing. :p

I've browsed his games' threads for a little. I don't delve into it too deeply because it's far too much drama and too time-consuming to learn about everything. I have way too much better things to be doing, than to be hopelessly waiting on word from Ocean and what he's up to now, but if I may add my own informed opinion:

Ocean isn't out to make an AVN. He's out to do cool shit in rendering/coding software and then pass it off as a game and get money for it. Someone elsewhere said that SG (without this mod) plays like a game that was made by 5 different people but all of them are Ocean. Ocean from 2020, Ocean from 2021 etc. And if you ask me, it exists like that because he doesn't have a concrete vision of what he wants to creates, but he's in love with the idea of creating. If you read some of his devlogs, you'll see this. His passion for doing things in his rendering software is there. But that doesn't automatically translate into passion for making his games.

The removal of incest isn't the only inconsistent thing in SG. I'm definitely certain alain can tell you far more than I ever could regarding sudden changes in the game for no apparent reason. I'm just telling you what I've gathered based on more recent reading of his games' threads.

SG isn't really a game. It's an exhibition. Tomorrow Ocean can just remove something that he thinks no longer fits in with his exhibit and then he'll say "that was always the plan for the game."

So what does collaborating with a writer to improve the dialogue etc have to do with doing cool shit in maya/blender/daz? Nothing. And that's the answer I'd give to your question. At least with this mod, you get a more complete experience as opposed to the experience others have gotten without this mod. And honestly, my advice would be to play SG with this mod, have a good time and then move on.

I get what you mean. Ocean would use the exposure he gets through his games to promote his real profession and passion which is being a 3D artist. And to be fair he is actually pretty good at it really good in fact. That is clearly his strong point because everything else in the production misses the mark.

I also get the feeling that over time this may have become the main or even sole purpose of WIAB and SG though I am not sure that was always the case. To be frank, I have no idea.

And yes I completely agree with you. Going through thousands of pages in those threads just to watch people argue nonstop isn’t exactly exciting. I remember seeing him more than once try to justify sudden changes in his plans with weak excuses like saying it was always intended that way or claiming his stories are absolutely amazing and span over 30 chapters.

The best one is probably when he said you'd be able to hook up and/or date with nearly three quarters of the college girls in Summers Gone. Funny enough actual sex scenes have been completely absent from the game for years. As for Summer herself her mysterious disappearance will probably never be explained. And to be honest that storyline wasn’t all that compelling to begin with.

Anyway thanks again for all the suggestions and for helping me get a better idea of what this mod actually brings to the game. It’s been genuinely helpful.

Progress update on the upcoming new release for the Uncut Edition...script rewrite and proofreading now complete (for both standard and Taboo versions). Now incorporating these script changes into the gallery replays. While working on the gallery I've also decided to fine-tune its appearance (buttons layout) and fix navigation bugs and also incorporate a selective "unlock/lock" feature: players will be able to unlock/lock each character gallery separately, as well as the different replays (story, romance, spicy) and cinematics.

Version 2.0 just released...I won't name this one the final release, already did with the previous one, but there was still room for improvement.

The whole game dialog has been rewritten to flow more naturally while preserving all aspects of the story and character dynamics. It now just “feels right”. That’s the intent, at least...

Here's what I did: Building upon the previous improvements, I fed the whole script (in chunks) through some AI to have a complete rewrite that would flow more naturally, reflect real conversational, casual English while obviously keeping the plot details and characters dynamics unchanged. This was done with Claude.AI (Anthropic), using their latest Sonnet 4 LLM. To make sure there were no hallucinations in the end-result (and there were a few, though not as much as I'd feared), the whole AI-rewritten script was then proofread. Some changes AI introduced were amended as well.
Using A.I might feel controversial for some, but there's no way this could have been done humanly. The task was just too massive. And the results (I think) speak for themselves.

Other changes relate to the gallery.
Ocean had initially built his replays gallery using dedicated scripts, requiring any change to the game script to be ported over to the replays. This was a major shortcoming that I adressed with this release. All of the replays now point directly to the main game script. This doesn't change much (if anything) for the player, but it makes a dev's job much easier.

What's really new for the player though:
- “Lock/Unlock” feature added to gallery for CGs, replays and cinematics. Player can selectively lock/unlock each of the galleries. These changes are permanently saved but locking them back allows to start a game anew. Due to some renders for different characters using the same lock variables, locking or unlocking a certain character might lock/unlock portions of another gallery. Just lock or unlock once more to get on your feet...
- set MC name once and for all for replays. Didn't you hate that each of the replays was asking for the MC name instead of a global option? Well now you have it...
- minor adjustements to the gallery menus (buttons, thumbnails, layout). Homogeneous layout for buttons across all galleries, thumbnails repositioning in chronological order, etc...

Enjoy and please report any feedback. I'm particularly interested in how you guys appreciate (or hate) the new script. I for one feel it's closer to what it should have been from the beginning, but I appreciate others might think differently.
I did quite a bit of testing but should you encounter any scripting errors, please report them here...

I don’t. Someone else did an Android port with an earlier version of my mod, try asking him…(look at the first pages for his name)
