Was just about to say that so good to see the thread really coming alive. :D I'm so happy DC has a progress tracker so that the entitled ppl who haven't put a cent into the game, know when to come out and start whining about development time, debating the finer points of coding by comparing coding to Wikipedia editing, and tearing the hair out of their heads 'cause it takes too long between updates for a game that's miles above in quality when compared to most games in the genre. :D

Sure can. She got a bunch of content one or two updates back. :)
Awesome! Too bad I uninstalled, I'd imagine my save file is gone. Oh well, good for another playthrough I guess. Are here any diverging quest lines where I can miss any content?

Check the front page of the thread, there's a link to the walkthrough, won't cover the upcoming update, but covers all the main decisions so far.

I played through an earlier version, not sure which. Can I fuck Roxxy yet?

You played an earlier version from before the Roxy update, and mention that your save is probably gone... One of the most repeated things in this thread (aside from "the two sides" bitching and sniping at each other) is the issue of save incompatibility.
You'd have to start over again regardless of having a save file from your last time playing.

This is literally the only Renpy game without save compatibility.
This is still a game in development, and that is a common issue with many games that are incomplete, and across different engines, depending on what changes between versions.
Think of it like playing a released Bethesda game.

For games specifically made in Ren'Py though...

-Sister, Sister, Sister had terrible save compatibility. That was down to the combination of each version reading saves from a specific location for each individual version, and the horrendous bugs that would occur (and still do in the vanilla version).

-Superpowered has historic issues with save compatibility, where it often would go straight to an error screen and have to quit.
The recent 0.30 release is the first one that absolutely requires a fresh start, due to changes introduced in it.

-A Town Uncovered also has historically had compatibility issues with saves between versions.

Unfortunately, your hyperbole only makes you come across as petulant.

My bad, I'm very new at this. I forgot that new versions didnt allow for old save files. My apologies for not reading through 1k+ pages. Apparently the version I played was a lot older than it thought, as I dont recall A LOT of he content I've seen in searching this versions changes. I also remember the diverging story lines of Mia/Helen and Mrs Johnson/Erik/June. Since I'm unfamiliar with a lot of new content, would you mind telling me if there is any other missable content, so I'm at least mildly prepared?

If you're that far back, you missed the Teacher update (4 paths) and Roxxy's for sure.

At this point you might as well wait the two to fourteen(?) days it will take for the new version to come out, and then play all the new stuff at once. And while I don't want to raise expectations too much for you, the Roxxy release was pretty damn awesome.

I don't care about the update being late, since it doesn't prevent dc from working on the art, which is the bottleneck. However, I'm incredibly disappointed that DC doesn't hire another artist to help him. He works 2 hours a day the on art creation, and it gives us 3 updates a year... It's simply not enough content for me to continue spend funds on this.

Not rly. As patrons we get a say in the content. Same with update frequency, ppl voted for longer periods between updates in exchange for getting more content and higher quality overall per update.
just an interesting question or viewpoint; did they offer maybe alpha patches for patrons? like basically after every week or so update a file with whatever content game out to help test some stuff, get some impressions, etc...? or is that just impossible for them to commit to?
just thinking about maybe another reason to donate and also have people help with bug testing a bit during the patches themselves. (sorry if was already asked i cant seem to be able to seach for stuff yet through threads)

as game designer here is my opinion and why I think dc is doing poor job I am not saying that I am too good but if you read this don't do mistakes that we did long time ago , there was a time which our team were working on a game project and it was quite good game and when we reached deadline and released the game I think it was CPY who cracked the game 2 days latter ,

but that didn't stop us from delivering the game on its own time , we could have wait and create other servers in order to delay cracking the game but we had to deliver it for the sake of fans

it is not about you supporting devs or not , when you are creating a game you are responsible to your fans because at the end of the day they make you who you are and they will make your game from a good to great game ,

it really doesn't matter if it is a porn game or RPG game fans are always the most valuable resource for a designer with out them you are you know beeeep!

either way I think dc putting less time than he should to cause his game is a sandbox game with maybe 100 new drawing art in each update

right now I think he is working 14 hours per week but a normal game designer works between 40 to 60 hours per week I am not saying that he should work that hard but if starts working 4 hours per day I think his team will be able to release an update every 3 weeks.

Where's the profit in that, huh?
