Normally I dont review a game this soon in development. But there are VERY clear signs that most if not all of what I have to say in this review, will still be true in many, many updates from now.
First of, this is as of Episode 1, the first proper release, as the previous one was just a 'demo'.
I'll start with something that might not really be the game's fault, but rather F95's weird tag-rules.
IF you're thinking of trying this game for the INCEST tag, dont bother. Unless you want super-stepcest(barely that). There's literally ZERO blood relation between MC and ANY of the females in this game.
Lemme give you the gist of the opening and first few boring minutes of the VN, without spoiling anything.
So, MC's mom dies when he's young (so no mom/son funtime). His dad remarries a somewhat attractive woman. Her name is Daisy I think.
Eventually, (several years later I think) MC's dad ALSO dies.
So MC now lives with Daisy (question is she still considered a stepmom at this point?)
This and that happens and discussed, MC then moves to "SunCity", to live with Daisy's sister(and her 2 daughters, were one of the daughters is of course a b-tch towards the MC and the other one super sweet)
Let me repeat that, dad remarries, then dies, MC then moves away to a new city to live with his dad's newly widow's sister.
Where, wheeere is the 'incest' in this?
Daisy aint really a stepmom anymore, as she's NOT together with MC's dad, as he's effing DEAD. She's a widow of MC's dad. And MC goes to live with her sister. So at the very best, it's a step-aunt. But again, that is like step-step-aunt or something.
I just wonder, just how FAR away from incest does F95's tag-rules go?
Why not say every act of intercourse is incest, as we're probalby ALL related if we go back to the dawn of time.
This is so dumb.
But the lack of stars for this game from me is NOT based on the VERY missleading incest tag. It's not the game's fault.
But consider this a head's up if you're here mainly for THAT tag.
The writing is terrible. English is obviously not the dev's native language.
You have the classic confusion with pronouns.
A MALE being referred to as "her". About 80% of the time.
And several instances of a FEMALE being adressed as HIM.
The MC is also referred to as HER/SHE sometimes, and no, the MC is not female.
Hell, even the "stepaunt" introduces the MC as her step-NIECE.
Like ffs.
I wouldn't even say the women are super hot. Some of them can get the job done, if you know what I mean.
But there's no emotions. There's nothing making you feel attached to anyone.
The MC is an idiot, I struggled to even like him a little.
He has a girlfriend who seemingly starts to become a bit of a psycho.
There's tons of weird thoughts and dialogues. A lot of times it makes ZERO sense. I dont remember the exact line, but as an example, the MC thinks to himself, thinking about why he's suddenly starting to perv on everyone. So he says something in the lines of "blah blah..ever since I had sex with Maya..blah blah. I hung in the new bathroom".
Like .. WHAT? "I hung in the new bathroom" ? How does that fit with the previous line? This is all in one and the same screen/textbox.
Not only does 'hung in the new bathroom' makes no sense, as there's never been talk about a bathroom, not to mention the whole "hung" - but what does that have to do with him thinking about why he's starting to perv on everyone?
Again, this was just ONE example of the moronic writing.
Again, one can forgive that the dev is MOST likely not a native english speaker. Hell, I'm not always perfect when it comes to english either. But then again I'm not writing a VN, again .. a VN, where HALF the effing point is the WRITING. But at least get the effing pronouns correct.
Can't have people constantly referring to him as her, or her as him. Or referring to him as a step-niece.
I normally say that I'll update my review after a few more updates, IF something changed in the game and my opinion.
But I can easily say already, that I won't EVER touch this horrible game ever again.
There really is nothing to come back to. MC now lives with his dead dad's widow's sister and her 2 daughters. This "step-aunt" is DATING a guy already. The two daughters...well Jennifer is a bitch plain and simple. The dev trying really hard to build some drama, but it all just comes off as kids in the sandbox fighting over a toy. Super stupid.
The other daughter...or should I say step-cousin (fucking hell), she's ugly as fuck.
Step-aunt is ok. But again, she's already dating someone. but I predict that will blow up, and MC will be there to comfort her with his dick. This I predict lol.
The "step-mom", well she's OK, there's some renders of her where she looks more than fine, but like most of the characters, there's a lot of renders where they look...less fine.
But what does that matter, as of now, the MC isn't even living in the same city as this "Stepmom" since he moved to SunCity. But there's talk about getting her (Daisy, aka stepmom) to move to SunCity too. but that might take many updates who knows.
Either way, might as well stop calling them stepmom, stepaunt, stepnephew, stepcousin and so on. As it fills no purpose. The dad is dead, Daisy isn't MC's dad's wife anymore. Shes just a normal milf that has been in MC's life for probalby half his lifetime. Sure there's some relation due to the time. But if anything, maybe surrogate mother or something? I dunno, seems weird to even call her a stepmom, that would mean there's a dad.
And MC has no siblings.
So, again, for the incest lovers out there, ignore this one. You'll be SO disappointed.
And the way it's written, I dont think even a patch could turn this into a proper incest story. Can't delete the fact that mom is dead. Could perhaps change the stepaunt, to be a sister to MC's dad, instead of being a sister to MC's "stepmom".
In summary for the incest tag: This does not feel like incest, it is not treated as incest. MC doesnt creep on his stepaunt and then says he shouldnt do it because she's his aunt. There's barely anything in the game even eluding to incest, they do mention they're a "family" a couple of times.
But come on, the incest tag shouldn't be there for this game.
But again, incest or not, doesnt affect the score I'm giving. As I said, it's not the game's fault that someone on the F95 staff consider this a relevant tag.
It's the writing. The lack of really likeable characters. The writing, again, yes it is THAT bad.
MC is not someone I liked at all. MC's "girlfriend" was nice, but that character got ruined real fast.
MC's "stepmom" ..well they're not even in the same effing city.
MC's stepaunt and stepcousins, meh. As I said, "aunt" is already dating someone for 6 months. One of the daughters is your typical "bitchy big sis" type of character. And of course the other daughter is your typical "sweet innocent and kind lil sis". Sadly, they're not MC's sister, not even cousins. They are not related in any shape or form. Other than that their mom's sister was married to MC's now dead dad.
Like I said, how far away from incest do we have to get for that tag to get removed lol.
As I said, most of the renders are pretty well done. But some are bad, and some are funny(as in so bad it's funny) For example, a scene where 3 women are doing pilates or whatever, one of the ladies are supporting herself on her hands on the mat, but you can CLEARLY see both hands are 'several* inches about. She's literally floating. So again...not much to praise when it comes to this VN.
I don't even feel bad for giving this a 1-star. It really doesn't deserve any higher. Most of the renders are good, and that's the ONLY thing saving this from a 0-star (if that was possible).
Skip this one lads, it's not worth your time. It will only give you frustration, AND headache trying to read this effed up writing.
